The Winterfest Planning Office is now open, albeit a day later than planned. This is a place for suggesting ideas, alterations and substitutions to the schedule of events. My hope is to have at least 4 days of events, beginning Thursday 12/11 and continuing through Sunday, 12/14.

Events that are currently on the table: - Secret Santa ((forum event)) - Toby St. Germain has offered to host Snowdown In The Glen again, as he did last year. ((live event)) - Snowball Royale hosted by the Rhydin Wonderplex ((live event)) - Bad Santa Ball at Ampersand - Governor's Yule Ball ((live event)) - ice skating at the Town Hall ((vapor play)) - snow slided and sled runs ((vapor play)) - Snow Sculpture Promenade ((forum event)) - Festival of Lights and Song ((forum event))

Tentative schedule:

Thursday: Snowdown In The Glen Friday: Snowball Royale Saturday: Governor's Yule Ball

The Bad Santa Ball, being a late-night event, could happen either Friday or Saturday nights. All other Winterfest events would run throughout the four days.

Suggestions are welcome. I hope to have the final scheule posted sometime Tuesday, 12/2.

Note: ice skating has been relocated to the open plaza in front of the Town Hall, to avoid interfering with the Yule decorations organized by the Marketplace Chamber of Commerce under Brian Ravenlock.

As with last year, I will do the Thursday Night Snowdown in the Glen from 8pm to midnight. And as with last time, if there's a lot of action at midnight, I will stick around and keep it going for everyone as long as interest remains.

I also dug up my Playable announcement from last year and will repost it when we start putting those up.

Come one, come all, to the Thursday Night Snowdown! Thursday, December 12th from 8pm to midnight!

Open to all ages, the Snowdown is a multi-part event where building a snowman....is just the beginning!

Taking place in the Southern Glen, the main event will involve building a snow creation of your own - and with the aid of a magic stone provided by our very own Wyheree, bring your creation to life! You are limited only by your imagination, and how much snow you can manange to bring together with your own hands (no mechanical assistance, please.) You can build by yourself, or in groups up to three.

Once you've built and animated your snow creation, you can either bring it out for display...or if you're feeling froggy, come out to the Jingle Dome and pit your handiwork against others in a no-holds barred free for all!

There will also be a section set apart for the kids to build and animate their own creations. In addition, prizes will be awarded for both junior and adult categories for the most unique and artistic creations.

Drinks (both icy cold and warming) will be provided from our very own ice bar, courtesy of RDI Toby from 8-10.

There is no entry fee, but donations will be accepted for the Star's End Community Association.

For any questions, please contact Toby St. Germain at Star's End Bar. (RDI Toby).
