"Okay, you've got an hour and a half to get lunch and rest a little, then back to the attic - do not be late, my darlings!"
'Taya groaned quietly, rolling her shoulder. She'd forgotten how intensive a short rehearsal period for a show could be. It was only halfway through the first day, and they had four of the big numbers blocked. Not to mention the fact that she had way too much on her mind to fully concentrate. At least this afternoon was the singing; shouldn't be too strenuous.
She stretched at the barre, exchanging a wry grin with Max from across the room where he was talking with one of the other performers. There was a thought trying to make itself known in the back of her mind ....something about lunch ....going somewhere for lunch ...
"Oh ....my god!"
Flailing her hands, she streaked over to Max, giving him a tug away from his new friend. "Sorry, really sorry to interrupt ....Max, directors, meeting, now!"
Without waiting to see if he was going to follow her, she ran into the changing rooms, stripping off her dance kit and wiping the sweat from her body before struggling into her outdoor clothes. A bit of liberal spraying with her body spray, no one would ever know she'd been sweating out half her body weight working this morning.
Except Riley. Damn that Cat's sharp nose. Oh, what the hell, she'd sniffed sweatier people than 'Taya before.
Leaving her bag in the changing room, 'Taya bounced impatiently on her toes, waiting for Max to reappear. As soon as he did, he would find himself grabbed by the arm and run down to the board room on the next floor, where, hopefully, the other new directors would be waiting.
Charles was already inside, being his charming self to pass the time until 'Taya burst in through the door, grinning and out of breath.
"See? I remember things!" she tsked at her manager with a smile, taking the proffered glass of water and turning to the other occupants of the room, which should, hopefully, include the invited directors Duci Lovasz and Riley O'Rourke. With any luck, together with Mataya and Max, they should make up an efficient board of directors.
"A little late, I know, but ....welcome on board!"
