While some parts of the city raged with conflict on this Valentine's night, the Shanachie Theater's immediate vicinity was like an island of calm. Whatever effect had blanketed Rhy'din took no gifts, sapped no strengths there.

Up on the stage, Eregor played his role as Schlomo Metzenbaum, and he played it well. Yet at the same time his multi-faceted mind cast its essence around the theater, shielding its environs from the Temple spell. His efforts were bolstered by Doran, who marshalled the feelings of the Shanachie cast, crew, and staff, their dedication to the stage and the art of performance, their wish to entertain and provide a respite, however brief, from the troubled world outside. From all of that strength, the Shanachie defied those who would see Rhy'din stripped of its dignity and wonder.

It was there to put on a show, after all, and as the saying went....the show must go on.
