The sounds of theater

Arlene has started a new life since moving to Rhydin. Joining the house band for a theater company was a big change from her usual human or sometimes not human charges and their parents, but she was enjoying her time at the theater and playing music, which she loved. Music let her express what she could not say with words. Music said so much more than she could ever truly say and more than anyone would ever know.

Sometimes, when the theater was not busy or a space was being unused, Arlene would find a place to sit and find a place to strum her guitar. Most of the time, she played enough to listen to the sounds of the strings resonate throughout the hallways and revel in the simplicity of sound. Other times, she played a melody (and sometimes sung quietly) that nagged at her mind or tugged on her heart. No one knew that these melodies were often fragments of lives she had lived through other beings that called to her in her sleep, but each one had a song. Each one had something that she had to put out into the sounds of the world so that they may live among the natures of the world. So that she could find some sense of release.

This was her peace from times of her secret hardships. And if she could not find the peace within herself then she had the other sounds of theater, when shows were being rehearsed to forget completely.
