Hello, Mataya. It's Euriya.

They were acquaintances at best, connected only by a thin bridge composed of Fiora's mutual friendship, which was the reason he'd gone with first names in the greeting. Dissolving the notion of sociological space required the dismissing of professional designations, and what better way to do that than to leave terms such as "Mr." and "Mrs." unacknowledged.

First off I want to let you know how excited I am that you are bringing Les Mis"rables to the theater. I'm sure the Shanachie performers are going to do a wonderful job of interpreting this time-honored classic. If you want, I'll be able to give you a firsthand report on this as Fiora and I will be attending several shows over the next few weeks.

The congratulatory opening line combined with a working knowledge of the performance was meant to offer a sense of recognition. Everyone loved to have their ego stroked and Euriya was willing to bet Ms. De Luca was the same way. The second part, the declaration of his attendance, was used to instill a subtle sense of loyalty at his own submission, with the mention of Fiora again utilized to support the foundation of their acquaintance.

With that said, I was hoping that I could somehow convince you and Max to join me and Fiora for dinner at my condo. Nothing too snazzy. I'll do the cooking and the cleaning, and all you need to do is bring a bottle of your favorite wine.

A smooth invitation, nothing too formal, more like old friends trying to get back together. The mention of Max used to solidify the groundwork of her comfort, though of the couple she was mentioned first to impart a sense of importance. The modulation of formalness offered to accentuate this cozy sanctuary as well, with his acknowledgement of a culinary disposition used as yet another form of servitude on her behalf. The request for wine made in such a way as to stimulate feelings of attachment to the occasion; allowing her to become a part of it rather than just a spectator.

I understand that you're extremely busy so just let me know what evening works for you. I look forward to talking to you guys soon. Take care.

The sympathetic mindfulness used to recognize, value, and partially alleviate the tension of a hectic existence while indoctrinating this continued sense of welcome and warmth. Another dash of personalization contributed with the sentiment of enthusiasm at their reconnection and a friendly farewell before ending the call.

Perfect.

Hey, Euriya, guess who"

Like the message he had left, 'Taya had wandered happily into the realm of the familiar over the formal, though to be fair, this was where she was most comfortable. It was where she had made allies of the press back home, too - friendly without giving away too much, and they got off her back about the personal stuff.

It's great to hear from you, hope everything's going well in the world of psycholology or whatever it's called. Glad to hear you're planning a few trips to the theater - your first visit's already paid for, open tickets laid aside for both of you in the box office.

Because she was nothing if not generous, and given the way Fiora positively gushed about Dr Shilo, 'Taya was willing to bet he was worth the investment to make a friend. They hadn't actually spoken directly since the sunny realtor had been shot, which made these messages left rather ....odd. In the best sense, of course.

Max and I would love to come to dinner with you sometime soon, it sounds like a great night. I'll even make sure he's wearing pants, how's that for a deal"

Her voice dissolved into giggles as an indistinct male tone from her end of the phone appeared to raise an objection or seven, cut off by another female voice, discernibly child-like, imperiously demanding the attention of said male while Mataya drew her giggles under control again.

Anywho, yeah, dinner sounds great. We're both in Les Miz at the moment, so it's either gonna have to be a late, late dinner, or a Sunday. I will never stop thanking Ludo for insisting on Sundays off for all cast and crew. Of course, I'll never forgive him for continually casting me in the shows, but ....okay, you don't need to know this.

Another laugh, this time ever so slightly embarrassed by her tendency to blurt out the first thing that came into her mind, no matter who she was talking to. Any number of friends had called her on it in the past, and yet it still happened regularly.

So ....yeah. Ball's in your court again, Doc. Just let us know, and we'll be there. It'll be cool to see you again, if you think you can survive me and Fiora in the same room for more than an hour! You take care of yourself, too - if you can't get me here, I'll be at the Shanachie, so ....Is it obvious that I hate these machines" I never know how to stop talking.

From the background, a suggestion that she just, you know, stop was offered up, resulting in another laugh from the woman leaving the message.

Alright, alright, I'm hanging up. Chillax, Doc, we'll see you real soon. Uh ....bye' Yeah, bye.

And yet, no click. Audible was the continuation of her conversation with Max and their current young lodger, while a series of beeps alluded to the business of a thumb pressing buttons at random, until ...

How do you turn this thing off" Oh ....Thank you, Miss Smarty Pants, not all of us were blessed with brains and beauty, yanno -
