The Allure of Flames

It had been later in the evening when she sent the letter out towards the Sanctuary in Rhy'din. It was written in a curling looping script, and on stiff parchment. Most of all, she hoped it reached it's destination swiftly, and undisturbed. It was short, but explained what she, and her sister Chimera planned to do.

The letter read:

Dear Sisters within the Sanctuary at Rhy'din,

I write this letter on the behalf of Chimera, and myself, Chi Ankth. We have decided that we would like to leave here, and join our sisters there in Rhy'din, not only because we have come to the decision that we would like to help you there, but because we're eager to see someplace new. We're eager to help out and serve where we are needed. If all goes well, we should probably see you shortly after you receive this letter.

Sincerely, Your fellow sister,

Chi Ankth~

Once she was certain it was safely on it's way, she turned to move back to where Chimera was. They had a voyage to be made.

The stiff parchment was laid out upon the low table in the great hallway of the Scathachian Sanctuary. The fire roared in the hearth and heated the room with swift sufficiency. Several of the priestesses had already read the letter and had brought it to Isuelt's attention, whose lips curved into an appreciative smile. "Scathach be praised. It seems as if more reinforcements are making their way to us, Sisters. Spread the word." Isuelt's soul soared. She had asked her Goddess for aid, and it was coming.

She quickly moved down the halls of the sanctuary, intent on where she knew she would find her sister Chimera. Within the confines of the temple. She knew her sister well, and that was the only reasonable place that came to mind with her.

Silently she eased open the temple's door, and slipped inside, while her amethyst hues danced around, searching for her sister.

Chimera

Chimera was on her knees, collapsed over in prayer in the Scathach's Temple. Her white Grecian gown sprawled out around her and her platinum hair covered what little could be seen of her face.

Born the daughter of a Scathachian Seer, Chimera had spent most of her life in prayer. Her mother, Echidna, raised her in the ways of the Goddess. By the time of Echina's passing, Chimera still showed no sign of her mother's gift of insight. She decided she could be of no use to the High Priestess as her mother was and decided to become a Scathachian Warrior. She spent several years learning in the Order of the Warrior alongside her sister, Chi Ankth.

Today was the day Chimera prayed the hardest. She would need strength from the Goddess so she could help her sisters in Rhydin. She had never been off the Island of the Shadow. She was nervous, but excited. She finished her prayer as she heard Chi's footsteps approach from behind her.

Chimera bowed her head once last time, here, in the Scathach's Temple on the Island of the Shadow. She rose gracefully to her feet and met Chi. Not a word was said. They had discussed it for a long time. They knew what needed to be done. They had lived their whole lives for this moment ? the moment they could help their sisters. They ran off to the docks to board the boat that would soon take them to Rhydin.
