"Raven get up! Oh Come on...You need to answer me, come on! Don't make me come over there. This is serious, it's that old Guild hall! Night Blade, something! There's been a fire! Wake up!"

Brian Ravenlock stirred in his sleep, as the voice of one Kerrithra reverberated throughout his being and slumber, via the link pearl earring he wore at all times. The enchanted device was rather handy at times, and usually was enough to wake him near instantly. However, this time it was a bit different, as Brian and Jenai had been decorating the baby's room nearly all evening, and they had literally gone to bed just an hour before. So Bri had just hit that good sleep spot...Just when you felt yourself drift ever so slightly, deeper and deeper, your body growing heavy with slumber, and soon the rest of the world would fde away...Such a peaceful feeling indeed...Save the voice urging him to wake once more.

"Raven, let's go lunchbox! We got work to do, and you still are the boss for at least a couple of more weeks, I got the rest of the unit enroute, and the local fire volunteers have been activated, so come on lazy ass!"

An incoherent mumble escaped Bri's lips, as he slowly came away and let Kerri repeat herself in a frenzied way. Hands lifted to rub his eyes heavily, as he came to a sitting position, letting what she had said finally take hold of his senses. Putting it all together, his eyes opened wider a bit, as he realized there had been a fire at the Night Blade Guild Hall. Quickly he rose, as his senses quickly came back to him.

"I'm up, and getting dressed. I'll be enroute via port stone, and then horse from the garrison. Set up a tight perimeter, evacuate if need be, also run a sweep for any homeless, and leave no stone unturned. Make sure the fire volunteers have whatever they need, and have two people keep an eye on them at all times. Make contact with the local OIC (Officer in Command), and coordinate. This is our scene, and by all means no details to the media, especially the oracle. It's a plain fire, thats the bottom line."

"You got it, boss! We'll see ya when ya get here! I alerted Epona too, so see about getting additional responders."

Brian said little else, as he quickly dressed in his ACUs. Boots strapped on, and Beret in hand, as he looked back to his slumbering Jenai, as he offered an apologetic smile. A kiss to her cheek, and he walked out the door, down the stairs and was soon outside, headed towards the teleportation stone. Moments later, he arrived at the 27th Garrision, was mounted up, and tearing down the street in a fierce gallop, towards the pillar of flame and smoke.

Arriving on scene, Brian sucked in his breath a moment and took a quick look around, as he gauged the scene and those present, letting the scene sink in. He could make out Kerri barking orders, and people gathering on the outside of the perimeter tape, he could also see K-9 units making rounds as well, trying to see what could be picked up, as the handlers looked somewhat concerned as the crowd grew and pressed towards the tape more so. Sliding off his hhorse, Brian grabbed the first officer he saw, and pointed to the crowd.

"I want that perimeter pressed back another twenty feet, grab as many officers as you can, and move that crowd back!"

The young man ran off quickly, and barked at a few other officers along the way, and went to work pushing back the crowd, as Brian joined Kerri who was knee deep in discussion with the local OIC, and Fire Marshal. As he joined all three, paused as Kerri then spoke up.

"Okay Boss, this is what we got. No one found inside as of yet, unknown cause that's obvious as of yet, no one around the building either. They say they'll have the fire under control soon, and then we can get in there. It's still early. I set four of ours with the fire team, and the rest on perimeter sweeps, and crowd control."

Offering a nod to the two men, Brian looked to Kerri.

"Alright, stick to the official line. Nothing suspicious at all, plain old fire. Dispatch word to the Governor's Office, let her know this is the Night Blade Guild Hall, Pidane's old grounds. I'll report to her, if we have anything additional, but for now I want her to at least be aware. Let's keep the units where they are, and let the fire team do their work. We'll head inside when they are done."

Brian excused himself, and moved close towards the building, as Kerri ran along side him, and leaned to him. Her voice a hushed tone.

"Bri, this is that place where we tracked that girl, who was tailing you at the night club. I know she hasn't been around much, but she was here...I remember, when she first saw you all in the Inn and invited Issy to dinner. Strange the place burns down, no?"

Bri listened, and simply nodded and sighed softly, as he watched the strange dance of flame, water and steam....He knew exactly what Kerri has meant. This was a possible lead, one of many, but still a possible one. And now it was burning to the ground, along with whatever was inside.

"You're right...It's gone, it wasn't like it was much of a lead. But as it stands, it's more than we have seen in a while. Let's stick to the crowd and wait this out...Keep a sharp eye out, maybe someone out there is too interested in this and may stick out, or maybe our girl is still possibly around. Though i doubt it, but who knows."

"You got it, Boss!"

And off Kerri went, as Brian stared at the burning hall, pondering what would come next, or rather what they may find.

Hours had passed...The fire was brought under control and was soon extinguished, and the crowd had subsided. A fire investigator, as well as a local contracted scrying mage had arrived and each set about their particular tasks of trying to see what could be seen, or rather not seen within the smoldering dampness that was once the Night Blade Guild Hall.

Kerri and Brian set about their own tasks, as they worked about the area in conjunction with other officers, looking for anything that might reveal even the slightest lead. Statements taken, a few possible hints here and there and lead to dead ends, and little else.

The scrying mage could only determine the fire was in fact intentional. He had no other information whatsoever, save frustration being a factor in the origin of the fire. The fire investigator also concluded arson given the burn patterns involved, and the presence of a catalyst. It was classisifed as a type 'A' fire, and save the arson factor was a normal fire, thanlfully.

So in the end, they were left with nothing...The Guild Hall has indeed been set ablaze on purpose, as to why it had suffered such a fate, was unknown. Vague descriptions offered in the way of people last seen in the area, carried little weight. No other immediate information, and for the time being that was that. A common arson and nothing else.

Kerri approached Brian, and was soundly waved off, as Bri started to walk away from the scene, and waved off a few other parties and soon was enveloped by the darkness, and finally gone.
