This Dark One

(Edited due to circumstances. Only the last section.)

Such ungracious times early in the morning and such daring she undertook just to see one little person.

Renna was taking one of her rare moments from the Den of Shadow's foreboding walls and dungeons; she made her way to the Scathachian Sanctuary almost subconsciously. The Sanctuary was a place she had come to see as the opposite of her Fortress, and the opposite of what she stood for.

Justice for those who had wrong done to them'

Justice" Renna saw it as an excuse and justification in their actions to fuel the Scathachian's fury for bloodlust and battles. Fierce fighters, experts in their own right, and Renna looked upon it with simple disgust. If you had the power and flaunt it around in the name of justice, why not use it all the time for personal gain.

The cloak swayed in the wind " though barely and slowly she lifted up the four pronged helm to glance upon the door that held the beasts within. Caged like the crazed women they were. Renna's armour was of intricate Elven design with the most skilfully crafted plates known to mortal man covering almost every inch of her body (even the tips of her fingers!) save for the head and neck area. The helm hid her head so well and yet no matter how chunky it looked " how cumbersome it's construction maybe, Renna's body power easily could hold it upon her strong somewhat barely muscular feminine shoulders. Perhaps the only skin seen was her lips, nose and chin where the mouth piece of the helm didn't exist. A single weak spot in the whole design " and Renna wanted it so.

So her teeth could tare into flesh as well as her weapons.

Something told her she would not be welcomed here; though that was stating the obvious. Renna was not surprised by now these Scathachian patrols she heard so much had not ran into her upon her travels throughout the City causing all kinds of havoc " the usual disappearances, mutilations" She was surprised they would not try and deal with the biggest actor of injustice in Rhy"Din for some time.

Reason one " in Renna's mind was that they were afraid of her.

Though now, her thoughts were running away with her head. She came here not for that.

The door was taken note of and she stopped before it.

Waiting.

Once more Brian was in meditation...He found himself in this state quite often as of late, and found it was needed more than ever. Recent events had the boy unsettled a tad, well that's not true, more like rattled like never before to an extent. So here was, once more in the garden. Eyes closed, thoughts calmed, as he allowed himself to calm and just regain a sense of balance.

The words of Kairee and Renna fresh in his mind, each latching on to some part of him, and somehow refusing to let go. While it sounds pathetic to an extent, that's exactly what it was. The link to Kairee was one of respect and what could be best described as friendship, while it looked as if Brian were her lapdog to many, Brian was there is his own word and accord. Kairee had done a great deal for he and his clan, and this was Brian's way of repaying her in kind, and while it started out as service as her 'sword' it had evolved, and grew into a mutual respect.

Renna...Renna's link was...Well it was complicatd at best...Reactionary and Pro-actionary, it was one of mixed emotions on so many levels, that Brian could not truly set a finger upon it. Some said love, some said pity, others said possibly regret, or that Brian was simply just as dark as the Queen of Shadows in a way, and saw a way to release that in himself and use her as a scapegoat. It was true, Brian knew what she was, it was not like she lied to him, quite the opposite...She was easily one of the most truthful people, Brian had in fact ever met in this land. One thing that was a simple fact. Renna had a piece of Brian within her at present, and Brian still retained some sense of hope deep down that pertained to Renna, a piece if you will...of what she could have been, or better yet at one time was in his eyes, and some others. Still there was one thing that linked them more than anything each could know. That was Lucy Ravenlock, their 'Daughter', who was born not by love, or physical lust, but out of need and parts of the cores of these two individuals.

Needless to say, it was complicated...Always these two would cross paths, be it fighting, just talking, or a quiet thougtful moment spent...One thing was sure, Ren's words weighed heavily upon Brian and she had such an effect upon him. It took the better part of a week to calm himself, and not want to run in fear whenever she appeared. Then again who could blame him. This was a person who had asked him to end her life, a person he buried twice, a person he he loved and hated at the same time, a person who was somehow bound to him, and that binding showed itself in so many ways. Yet he calmed himself, he no longer ran...He found the strength in himself, due to those around him.

Quietly, Brian breathed deeply. His eyes remained closed, as thoughts remained balanced and calm. The light and the dark that Kairee addressed. Time was lost, place was lost, thoughts were lost. It was just Brian, and nothing else at present. Until, he felt his heart skip just a beat.. That one beat...That was all it took, as he clenched his eyes a moment and once more regained himself only to feel it once more, and this time stronger. Blue eyes opened, slowly. That was a presence he would never forget, and it was very close. Slowly, he rose to his feet and reached for 'Pulgasari', with was still sheathed next to him. Ignoring his shirt, and boots, Brian headed to the main gates. Blue eyes remained wary, as he found himself slipping just a moment and bolstered himself yet again.

The door opened, with Brian standing inside with the sheathed katana in hand, as he he offered a faint smile...A forced one, but none the less a smile. A moment remained as he simply stared ahead at what lay before him. Finally he found it within himself to move ahead, and close the door behind him. His movements stiff, his eyes somewhat cold as he steeled himself for whatever would come, still even that did not last long. If she truly wanted, she could have taken him at any time and he knew that, so he calmed and relaxed. Setting the sword against the wall next to him, he looked to her once more and spoke.

"Hello, Ren...You look, well. A bit aways from the Den aren't we?"
