Eudora was becoming terribly impatient with the Keeper. The months had not been kind to Kai, the elder woman knew this, and yet she kept pushing on. There was never a complaint out of the elven woman but it was not hard to tell there was a longing in her heart.

Kai's task was a heavy burden. One she had accepted without a second thought and carried with no remorse. It did leave her tired and drained, however, and thus she remained most of her time within the walls of the temple.

Eudora caught Kai one morning just sitting in her sanctuary of a garden, staring up at the sky with a look that suggested the young woman's mind was far away.

"Kai?" Eudora dared to draw the Keeper from her thoughts. At first the elderly woman thought that Kai would not return.

Kai's crystalline eyes turned to Eudora, tear set but a smile playing on her lips, "Oh, Eudora. I didn't hear you come in! Hi!"

No matter how chipper Kai's voice was, Eudora knew better. "Young miss, I know you take your duties seriously but you should get out more. There are people in the city that surely miss you."

There was only one face she wanted to see. Since their last meeting she had worried about the titan. Not just about his health but of him constantly seeming to push her away. Was she such a burden to him' She knew he still had to care or at least his words suggested as such. He didn't seem to like the fact that she was waiting. That she would always be waiting. In the end, however, wasn't that what one did for the one their heart desired" There was always waiting but not all waitings were as heavy and hard as waiting for the next time you saw the one you loved.

"I know and I plan on leaving the temple more once the runic wards are complete." Kai responded weakly, defeated.

"That is what I like to hear."

The garden had been fashioned with earthly magic from someone within the temple, the warmth of spring within the space of the seals was a heavy contrast to the outside world. Stepping out of the protective circle had the Keeper inhaling at the cold afternoon air. "Has Issy returned yet?" Kai stood, brushing the whites of her silk free of any dirt or blades of grass.

"I am sorry but I've only heard rumors of her coming and going. I believe the search is still under way." Eudora informed as the two women started to walk to the temple.

The Compass. Would it too be left under her care" Her worry was that she'd fail in protecting these artifacts that Issy trusted her to watch and protect over.

"You know Christmas is coming up?" Eudora's voice once again brought the elveness back from the depths of her thoughts.

"Christmas?" This word was not familiar to the Keeper.

"Yule?"

"Oh! Oh." It was a realization that months really had passed and rather quickly. She did need to get out more.

"You do not sound very excited. The city is already decorated for WinterFest."

Ears perked at the thought of all the lights and festivities. "I am!"

"And now you have a whole temple to celebrate it with." Eudora spoke and it was easy to see the amusement in her eyes.

"Last year Toby gave me this really pretty ornament. It was my first Christmas present. It lights up and floats and is really neat!" Kai's hands were in the air to size out the item in question. Her hands slowed as she deflated.

This was the Kai that Eudora knew. The way the young woman brightened up in excitement brought out a laugh in the elderly woman. As Kai's excitement seemed to die down Eudora frowned, "Is something wrong?"

"It has been a while since I spoke with him. I hope his little girl is okay. Last I heard she was really sick."

"Well I think you should pay him and his family a visit?" Eudora suggested as they stood in the main hall of the temple. Chores to do and the likes.

"I think that is a very good idea! I'll do that very soon." Kai chirped happily and with that mindset was bouncing off down the hall.

Eudora chuckled and shook her head. "Such life that one has." Turning she spotted two young men playing with a vase of flowers and off Eudora rushed, her voice booming in the air as she chased after the boys.
