You know the drill.

This thread is a place to help the Rhydin Community envision the Scathachian world, and better understand these women warriors and their allies. Some of the places illustrated are for OOC information only, and of course we'll let you know which ones those are.

Enjoy the slide show!

The Scathachian Sanctuary The Scathachian Sanctuary is located on the Rhydin map on the NorthWest Cliffs of the city. Tucked into the hillside and overlooking the sea, its white-washed walls gleam in the sunlight. Traditional architecture, like the Greeks and Romans, allow for tall columns, tiled roofs, long corridors and reflecting pools.

Iron gates, which remain open for most of the time, provide a semblance of privacy for the Scathachian Sisters. http://wroughtironoriginals.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/iron-gates-woodlandhills-losangeles.jpg

The exterior corridors imitate the interior. Their gardens are home to over 100 species of plants, trees, flowers and shrubs (some brought from their home Island of Shadow), most of which are able to be used medicinally.

The Island of Shadow ((The following images would be considered OOC information to characters other than initiated Scathachians.))

Remote and secluded, this island is the training grounds for the Scathachian Warriors. Scathachian mythology dictates that this island is where she lived and educated her students in the disciplines of warfare, strategy and weaponry. The exact location of this island is unknown, except to Scathachians who would defend its secrecy even unto death.

Here the Scathachians are trained, most from a very young age, until they are masters of weaponry (Dual swords, archery, chakrams, among others). Tales of the famed competitions of the Scathachians have been a part of public lore for more than a hundred years.

The Scathachian Temple

Located next to the Scathachian Sanctuary, along Rhydin's NorthWest Cliffs, this Temple to the Goddess Scathach stands as a beacon of hope for all of those who are oppressed, overwhelmed and bullied. Scathach, the goddess of war, defends the defenseless and fights for those who cannot fight for themselves.

A larger than life statue of Scathach stands in the middle of the temple to hear the prayers of her Daughters, as well as citizens who would come for her aid.

This is the temple where Scathachians, as well as Rhydinians worship Scathach. Off of the main hall of this temple are sickbay style wards where the ill and infirmed are cared for.

Additionally, there are living quarters in this temple for the Keepers (non-Scathachian caretakers).

At the main entrance of the temple, there is a memorial bust to Eudora Pallas Endropodies, the past keeper of the temple. Beneath the bust of her likeness is the inscription: "Eudora Pallas Endropodies ~ A life that touches others goes on forever ~"
