The Allure of Flames

Chi stood outside the sanctuary for a long while, just letting her amethyst hues dance over the outside. She could see random people ambling about, traveling in and out, but none of them seemed to take notice of her. It had been so long....So so long since she had seen it. Since she had been there. Eventually, with a silent prayer sent to the godless, she let her bare feet carry her forward, up the path that led to the front door. Carefully, it was nudged open, before she slipped inside.

Once inside, the nervous titters that had been dancing about inside her, every time she thought about returning, the very ones that were plaguing her outside seemed to drop away. Like it was nothing. A soft sigh escaped her, before, if there was any one nearby, was flashed a smile. And with that, she moved quickly down the hallway, the soft sound of her bare feet hitting the ground the only audible noise from her.

There was a series of turns and new halls traveled, before she finally came to a stop in front of a certain door. Gently, the door was opened, before she slipped inside, and pushed the door closed behind her. She leaned back against it, and studied her room. Nothing was out of place, other than a few papers and stuff like that, which she assumed was because when she had disappeared over half a year ago, someone had searched her room for some kind of clue as to where she had gone. It woul make sense.

Briefly, her eyes flickered towards her bed, before she slunk towards it. Once beside it, she crouched down, and tilted slightly so she could reach up into the hollow spot that was underneath her bed, up in the box spring. It took her a moment, but she found the slim box under there that she was searching for. Careful not to jostle the box too much, she moved to sit on her bed, before the box was opened, to reveal the crystalline structure of a rose. A soft smile flickered over her features. It was still whole, still safe.

After a moment, her thoughts drifted back over what Brian had told her the day before. She was home again. And in the vicinity of her family. The thought....comforted her, soothed any second thoughts that she had about returning to the Sanctuary. It felt wonderful to be back.

Now....all she had to do, was let her sisters know that she was back. That she was home. She....wasn't ready for that just yet. Give her a few minutes.
