Jewell practically ran out of her house after she got the kids into bed, garbed for such night time activities as scouting, hunting...killing. Her eyes were red rimmed, blue curls looking somewhat wild. Her first stop of the night was the Sanctuary; she didn't even think to go right in, just started banging on the door, "Isssy! ISSY!"

The wild pounding got someone's attention - Eddie was on her way back to her room when she heard the wild thumps and the muffled cries for Issy, and she hurried over to open the door - she knew that voice. "Jewell - hey- what?s wrong?"

She almost fell in when Eddie opened the door, but she was more than relieved to see any of the Sisters. With all the running and shouting, she was almost breathless in trying to get the news out. "Another murder...just..," she pointed down the road back towards her house, "whole family." She was close to tears again, but she was keeping them back. The rage was keeping them back.

Eddie grabbed hold of Jewell's shoulders gently, listening to the news, and her face hardened when she heard it. "When" Where" You all right' Everyone of yours all right?"

"Yes yes..we're all fine." Jewell was forcing herself to be calm—if the young Eddie could be calm, how much more so should she be? Of course, she knew the family personally but..."It must have happened last night' They wouldn't let me past to get in, just told me they were all dead." She was taking deep breaths, the tears that still shined in grey eyes were from frustration. "But..they were friends, their son played with my kids."

Eddie seemed calm on the outside - the years of training saw to that. But, a fine tremor played through her hands, betraying the rage inside - Scathach help her. "I'm sorry - I hoped that this - that it was done with. I'm sorry it hit close to you. I want whoever's doing this - I want them to pay. And I want to collect myself for what they did - no one harms an innocent."

"This was done to punish me, Eddie. I was warned and I didn't listen..and now." She shook her head, furious with herself, "People are getting killed because of me. I just...I'm going out tonight, into the West End or wherever. I wanted you guys to know what happened first. This isn't over..not by a long shot."

She was going on hunches here, and odd coincidences. There was no reason for this family to be targeted, they weren't from the West End and had no connection to the Sisters. Had no connection to the Sisters. She was the connection. She put people in danger. Of course, she hadn't even been able to confirm that it was their murderer but from what the Guard had said...

"I'll make sure all the Sisters know, Jewell. And - then I'll join you out there. I don't want you out alone, Jewell. Whoever this is - it's too dangerous alone. Hell, I don't even patrol alone anymore - Trix and I tag team all over West End." Her face then fell - and tears started to pool in her eyes, making her seem way younger all of a sudden. "I so wanted it to be over."

She sighed a little, realizing what a burden she had just put on the young Sister. She reached out, wrapping the girl in a tight hug, softening her tone. "I know hun...so did I. But don't you worry, anyone connected with this will pay. And I promise I'll be careful..no one's ever gotten me yet." Ah..so she didn't promise not to go out alone, though.

Eddie returned that hug to Jewell, then drew back, looking at her. "Oh they'll pay when I catch them - believe me Jewell." She knew full well what Jewell planned to do- because she'd do the exact same thing. "I'll catch up with you after I tell the others what happened. This is gonna get ugly. Stay safe and watch your back until I get there to do it OK?"

"Sure thing sweets." Jewell flashed her a confident smile, though her eyes were still red-rimmed. She was ready for the night now. "Be careful and I'll see you later."

She gave Jewell one last hug, "See you out there." Then she closed the door, and ran through the Sanctuary, yelling for all her Sisters. This was bad news - and they all needed to know.

Jewell in turn spun about and headed out into the night, determined.

A deaf man could have heard the commotion going on in the Sanctuary. Isuelt had stuck her head out of her chamber to listen to what she assumed was coming from the hallway. Still, as she walked outside of her room, she determined that the nature of the banging and voices was further to the entrance of the Scathachian stronghold.

By the time the Judge came down the corridor leading to the reception hall, Jewell had already departed, leaving Eddie alone and yelling for her Sisters.

"Eddie? What's going on' I heard....well, I heard all kinds of sh*t," her dark eyes searched Eddie's features, which were cool...though the urgency of her voice belied her expression.

Eddie almost plowed right into Issy as she tore through the hallway. She skidded to a stop before her Elder, her face not showing much, but her light brown eyes were full of tears.

"Issy - that was Jewell - she said the whole family was dead- their son played with her kids- and she's saying it's her fault - and she's on her way to West End and Scathach KNOWS it's not safe...

Eddie finally stopped to take a deep breath. "She didn't know many details - but it sounds like what happened before. Jewell was so upset, Issy. I wanna go and make sure she stays safe out there - and I wanna see what I can dig up on this case, and...and.." Her voice fell to a whisper, as the first tears fell from her eyes.

"I just wanted this to be over.."

Jen had been standing in a doorway leaning lightly against the frame as she had listened to Eddie's winded recall.

She looked from Issy to the Tearing Eddie. Jen couldn't blame her for it really. She didn't need this sort of thing so early. Ha Jen was one to talk. But she watched Eddie with a breaking heart.

Jewell had gone back" Going to West End" Crazy Fae! But who was to say anyone would have done differently?

With a last glance to Issy, she folded her arms over a book of deities and turned back into the library, continuing her abnormal silence.

Brian Ravenlock

Brian was also present, in the kitchen as he was readying tommorows menu for the sisters. Granted, he and Jen had the loft and what not, she still had a job and room in the Sanctuary, and cooking for the sisters was still a hard habit to break, not to mention he was also working his own angle in regards to the murders, and Isuelt's situation. So he of course was close by for them, and that meant right here in the Sanct.

The commotion caught his attention, as he was wrapping up the menu itself, and cleaning up the kitchen. Moving into the hall he heard Eddie, and caught sight os Isuelt and listened carefully. His heart went to the young sister, as she spoke to Isuelt, the evident pull of her own hear made as clear as day. His eyes panned to his Jenai, a moment as he offered a nod and watched her head back to her own work. Watching Eddie and Isuelt, Brian then turned and made his way back to his old room.

Moments later, he emerged in a fresh change of clothes and ready for work. Always prepared indeed...Strapping his tactical hardness on, he was then securing clasps as he made his way back to the reception room as he checked the swords that were strapped to his back, the pair of glock .45 slim lines, and additional clips that were strapped to his thighs, knee pads and the whole nine. That ever present half mask of his slipped about his neck, as he then tied his hair back into a pony tail. A glance between the two, and a nod to Eddie as he too walked to her and offered a kiss to her head, and a hand to her shoulder.

"I know how you feel...We'll see this through, ya gotta believe that. For now, let's do what we can. Truthfully, that's all we can do. So come on, let's head out and make sure Jewell is alright, and who knows...Maybe we will find something along the way."

Wiping a tear from her cheek, Brian then reached into his pocket and produced a pairof black leather gloves and slid each on, and headed to the door. A glance back to Eddie, as he lifted the half mask and made sure it was nice and tight, and offered a wink to her and opened the door.

"Come little sister, it's starting."

Eddie had delivered Jewell's message. The Scathachian, understandably shaken, shared what she knew with Isuelt (and additionally Jenai and Brian) as well as any other Sisters who had ventured forth at the sound of disruption.

"It's okay, Diana," Isuelt nodded to Eddie, touching the side of her face lightly. "The Empress won't be going anywhere alone. I'll meet her at the Inn. And we'll wait for you...if you want to join us. Okay?" She was already ready to strap on her weaponry and cloak. She caught sight of Jenai and Brian, nodding to them. They knew business was to be done as well.

Isuelt finished her preparations and headed down to the Inn. As she pushed through the front door, worried that Jewell might have already left, her fears were assuaged as she spotted the Empress calming herself with a whiskey. (A woman after her own heart, no") The two friends sat together and had only a fraction of a long-awaited conversation. In the end, it was decided that the two would start for the End. Kitty would be accompanying them as well, her aid was a welcomed and valuable piece to their defensive puzzle.

When she heard what had happened, she immediately found one of the guards and grilled him for the information. He told her what he knew....which wasn't much beyond the obvious.

When Issy asked her to join, she didn't hesitate. Although she did have something to do on her mind. When Issy and Jewell left, she told them she would catch up. And she would, eventually.

Once she stepped from the Inn, she immediately shifted to her panther form and began the run to part of town where Jewell lived. Four legs always got there faster than two. She was also more alert while in this form. More predatory and harder to spot.

When she got to the house where the family had been slain, she went inside. There was a guard posted outside, but he was asleep. Slacker. She would give him a thorough butt kicking later. She slunk into the rooms, easily finding where each body had been slain. She sniffed every corner and every object. Of course she could smell the scents of the family. Each person had their own individual scent. It was almost like a signature. Over the years she had managed to distinguish between human, elf, dwarf, and a variety of others. Females also smelled differently from males. Men always had a muskier scent, no matter the race. Pheromones was the usual suspect.

Now the guard had told her it was a family of five. The parents, the house servant, and two children. She smelled six individual scents. All were human. She knew the mother was the only female in the house, but she scented another woman. It was human...but there was something wrong with it. It smelled....tainted. As if the person was possessed by something else. Her tail lashed as she scented around more. She followed that scent until she was outside....where it seemed to fade.

Soon she was on the rooftops, sniffing around more. She caught faint whiffs of that scent, but not enough to follow. Dammit! Perhaps she would find a fresher scent later, somewhere else.

Her mind reached out to find the marble she had given Issy. As soon as she locked onto it, she was off and following. It was only moments before she had caught up with the Scath Judge and the blue haired fae. She let her mind reach out just enough to touch on Jewell's mind.

"*I'm here. Don't look for me.*"
