Cisroe, Kaylieth Located within the vast realms of Carowyn. (Old Common: Careoryn) The following Excerpt taken from recently updated information found within the Great Library's archives:

Cisroe was a bustling metropolis. Loaded with a variety of merchants of all types. From farmer to mages, and every sort of craftsmen one might need. The city's placement with the large port and harbor made it a common destination for most travelers to the lands of Kaylieth. It was also an Educational location. For dominating the city was the largest Collection of books, records, knowledge and far more information. The place is commonly called the "Great Library of Carowyn", for there wasn't any other realm within the world that could claim such a vast compilation of this much information in one local.

It's a depository of great knowledge in History, magics and mystery. Recently renovated and updated with a vast collection added by the current noble ruler of the area, Lord Lucius DeAuster. Many colleges can be found nearby this epic structure, with it's pearly pale elegantly carved dome rising above the other buildings around and dominating the city's silhouette.

Upon the surface Cisroe was a quaint, picturesque looking place. Elegant town homes and manors, with equally prestigious Hotels and Inns that offered the best amenities mages could create and such establishments could afford. All boasting an array of specialties along with some of the best foods and wines one might find in the region.

Rich with art and social entertainments such as your opera houses and stage halls, to appeal to the nobility that often landed there for the seasonal whirl. Elegant shops, tailors, Inn's and even a few opulent hotels along with fashionable caf?'s dotted the "Mayfield Square" and surrounded a lovely rose garden that played host to solitary walks and picnics for many.

Like every city, Cisroe also had its dark side. With the wealth of the place there was also the poor. An area that from a distance didn't seem so dingy yet up close one found it less then pristine. It too had its dregs of society, the indolent; those down on their luck, the pitiable and the destitute huddled within the area. Along side the predators, gamblers, mercenary and cruel.

At night one could find anything to appeal to all natures, from the more innocent of entertainments of ballet to ballrooms, to the more nefarious interest. Rakehells, gambling halls and houses of ill repute make a good business once the sunset and the gaslights flickered on. It was a place that caters to a variety of sophistication and taste and took pride in both its blessings and it's curses.

Cisroe is also a very well defended city, with both Gharnholme troops in residence along with a vast amount of city guards to shore up its military protections. The entire region is also surrounded by an impressive stonewall with main gates leading from the city on three sides. The Harbor is also the home of a number of navel vessels all set to guard the city from any seaside attacks.

A timeless and forgotten place, The moon and sun endless chase Each in quiet surrender As the other reigns the sky" The midnight hour begins to laugh A summer evening's epitaph, The winds are getting crazy As the storm begins to rise"

The Storm - Blackmore's Night

"Nae, there will be nae any need for any special dishes to be prepared Mrs. Morgance. Lord Yhaull is nae a fussy eater that I am aware of." Cieara was finding the arrangements for this visit a trial to say the least. She had only seen Veighn eat once, and it hadn't been anything remotely resembling the type of food prepared in the Cisroe Castle. "He does enjoy his wines of course. Be sure we have some of the Samhuinn Gorsmo in stock along with a good variety of vintages from our realm, please." "Aye Milady, I shall inform Mr. Bevin of ye request." Shadowfalls housekeeper was a woman just past that first blush of youth. Her dark brown hair, showing the faintest hint of gray in the mix was drawn back in a severe fashion. However she did have kind eyes and a warm smile when she wished. Although at the moment there was a far more stern expression hovering upon her brow.

Cieara wasn't blind and did notice it, so laying aside the list of items the lady had given her earlier she turned to look at her from her seated position near the hearth of the parlor. Firelight played over the coppering flow of soft burnished curls. "Be there something else Mrs. Morgance?"

"Aye Milady. Tis the matter of sleeping arrangements, it is nae proper for ye to have him so near ye own chambers. It would be far better if ye let us place him in the guest wing." Kathleen Morgance's hands were held in that perfect posture before her as she regarded the young noble woman.

Temper flared within the iridescent green eyes as she glanced away, seeking to collect control before it spilled over. This was the trouble she had found herself facing and Cieara was becoming rather irate about it. "I nae see any problem having my guest staying in rooms near my own Mrs. Morgance. Putting him so far away seems rather rude to me. As for it being proper or nae, I care little about such social beliefs. Tis sure I am the only ones that would be knowing about such private specification work within Shadowfalls. Should they so choose to discuss such arrangements with outsiders, they may as well seek another employ."

"Lord Yhaull likes space and the guest chambers are not nearly as roomy as those chambers closer to my own. So if some be so curious about why I have asked for such placement as that, tis a simple matter of a more open air design." Rising from the settee with only a hint of agitation in her graceful movements, the dark purple silk rustled about Cieara's legs as she moved towards the hearth. "However, I shall state this as simply as possible. I nae care what anyone thinks about where my guest sleeps, for even with a whole castle to navigate, they will still believe as they wish be it innocent of infamous." "As ye wish Milady." The woman was emitting disapproval and Cieara felt it, but she refused to back down. Her reason was truthful and the Head Housekeeper was well aware that the chambers specified were larger and more spacious then the guest quarters. "Will his lordship be requiring a Valet for his stay with us?"

"Nae." Cieara managed to keep the look of sudden amusement from her pale-lit features as she glanced over towards the lady. "He's nae one that has much need of a manservant that I have found. He is a mage after all and not one given to the more intricate fashions many favor here." Could just imagine Veighn's reaction to some stranger seeking to put their hands on him, helpful or nae. It wouldn't end well, that she was sure of.

After the departure of the Housekeeper Cieara poured herself a measure of her father's cognac and took a small sip. So far she had made arrangements for the trip to Dale Airenia. If the weather held and the roads remained passable, that would be perfect, however she had deemed it best to be prepared and made further provision in the event they would need to set up camp for a night as well.

I stood upon the Ivory Tower As far as I could see The winds that grew from out of the trees were calling out to me Curtains blew in the Ivory Tower Willows start to bend The ravens flew to escape the fury as the storm descends.

Ivory Tower - Blackmore's Night

It had only been a few days, but Cieara had already procured permissions for Veighn's entry into the "Great Library of Carowyn". Through her grandfather, he would have all the correct traveling papers to navigate just about anywhere within the realms. Upon the continent of Kaylieth, he didn't actually need such documents, but once they boarded the ship for Taybior, it would be a requirement. It was far less irritating to travel with such things and avoid the subsequent hassles involved.

The only thing left was to meet with Veighn and escort him through the portal. Cieara also thought she should warn him of a few mildly annoying issues he would need to deal with while in on the continent of Kaylieth. While here she never traveled without guards. This was due to the currently high price on her head from one of her father's enemies. A small fortune it was if she could be taken alive, and Lucius had no intention of allowing that to happen. Cieara suspected the Dark Mage wouldn't like it. Because it meant his movements while with her would be under constant scrutiny. However, it was a fact of her life. It was also one of the reasons she did spend more time in RhyDin. There she wasn't constantly being trailed by hulking warriors and could move about more freely.

Tipping the last of the smoky, rich cognac against rose tinted lips she turned away from the visions of the perfectly maintained landscape outside and glided off. Collecting her heavier winter cloak, the fur-lined garment was slipped over her shoulders with a glance to the young woman hovering nearby. "I should be gone for a few hours Rhian, so ye can take the portal back to Gharnholme if ye be wishing." "Aye Miss Cieara." Cieara didn't like the title "Mistress" so her handmaiden didn't use it. The delicate beauty replied with a quick smile and a nodding of her jet- black head. "I would like to visit with Mistress Myri if I may."

"Then do so sweet. I can always send a messenger later if I be needing ye." Iridescent green eyes shimmered with humor as she drew the supple Kidd gloves upon long elegant fingers. Under the flowing folds of the plum folds of silk her dagger was slipped out of sight. She never went anywhere unarmed these days and while she couldn't wear "Mysi os si Shydyri" easily with the garment she was adorned in, the delicate whip was slipped into a pocket of shadows. Still easily within reach should some unknown danger arise while in RhyDin. After one last glance into the mirror, her leather encased fingers brushed against the small amulet she wore. Another surprising gift from the Dark Wizard, with a design esthetically pleasing to the eye with the flowing of Celtic and tribal in a perfect blend, as well as what it represented.

She didn't dally long, but set off for the Portal in the private family quarters. There were actually two such gates within Shadowfalls. The largest of the pair being outside near the gardens and could easily accommodate movement of an entire force of her father's soldiers should the need arise although, it looked far more like some elegant sculpture then what it truly was. Lucius had never been one to advertise his advantages and even in such cases, the same applied.

Within a matter of moments she was stepping free into the quiet elegantly decorated chambers of the RhyDin keep. The echoing of silence told her Daniel must be over at Onyx house or on duty. She did need to see him soon for she had been so busy of late they had little time together. For now however, she had to make her way to Wraithspire where Veighn likely awaited.

Cieara didn't even need to step outside to know it was another bone chilling day in the realms. Back home, Cisroe was only just starting to feel the first kiss of winter on the air. Soon enough it too would be just like it was here, with the falling of drifting snow and bite of frost in the wind. This was the time many sought to socialize, as the season left them little else to occupy their time. Cieara rather planned to avoid that if at all possible of course. She had little interest in it, and doubted Veighn would feel any differently and was thankful for that.

Slipping silently into the darker paths, she moved swiftly, finding the right color and followed it with ease. The realm of shade was ever familiar to her, and these days her speed in navigating them had vastly improved. It was perhaps a few minutes or so and she sliding smoothly from the shadow paths and right into the foyer of Veighn's castle. Finding that silence once again while a gloved hand rose to draw the voluminous hood back from the gentle cascade of burnished auburn curls.

"Can I help you?" A voice rang out and brought Cieara wheeling about with a start. Usually she would have heard some approaching but this unique creature moved rather silently for one with cloven hooves. A brow arching as she regarded the bohemian dressed female. There was an eclectic almost gypsy look about her manner of garments the curious creature wore. This swiftly absorbed as the unusual female stopped before her.

Cieara was also making note of both horns and a tail but managing to hide the surprise that came naturally. Veighn did have a rather interesting collection of associates she was discovering, and suspected this may be one. "Ah, aye Miss. I am here to see Lord Yhaull and I am expected."

Lord Veighn Yhaull

((Author's Note: Wraithspire Castle is inspired by Author Monte Cook, creative liberties taken to add flavor and make it my own.))

The wind howled outside, buffeted against the large adamantine doors of the Keep proper. The courtyard beyond stretched into the blackness; dark clouds churning around the castle, fierce at this height. The castle itself was perched atop a tapering, mile-high spike of solid earth which rose high above the forest below, positioned near Dark Lake Manor, Alysia Skye's familial lands and residence near the volcanic caldera on the outskirts of Rhy"Din City.

The temperate climate seemed to have little effect on the ethers this high up. Any mortal being would feel the drastic change in the atmosphere as the head relieved itself of pressure by the ears popping. Even the air was thinner up here. With powerful wards, impenetrable to all known magics throughout the land, by design the only two places teleportation, ethereal jaunts, gate-stepping, and shadow-walking paths would deposit a being were the courtyard and the interior hall of the castle, just beyond the great doors. To any uninvited visitors, manifestation inside the castle proved certain death to those seeking admittance.

"This is why I am hear now, Lady DeAuster." The silvery-white haired Tiefling servant gave her a knowing smile, hellfire-red eyes flashing in a strobe of light in the deep darkness. "Follow Malvhista to the vaults, Lord Yhaull has been waiting. Though mind your words, M'lady, he is in one of his brooding moods." The warning was unmistakable in her raspy tone. The sound of shrew-bone charms braided into disheveled, wild hair chimed softly as she pivoted in the deep dark of the hall.

She gestured to the behemoth black marble statues of armed, fierce faced solar angels standing in horrific displays of blasphemy and pious mockery between each of the columns, totaling twelve in number. The eldritch beauty's webbed fingers undulated languidly through the air as she directed Cieara's gaze as they passed by. Shadows flitted here and there between the columns and guardians in the deeper darkness. "Master Yhaull's trophies, did he tell you they stormed the castle bent on assassinating him after he'd first erected it." She cackled, the discordant tone of her cracked voice echoing into silence as they moved, cloven hooves silent against the floor that seemed formed of pure, solidified darkness itself. "A story for another time perhaps, come, we go down into the spire."

Malvhista turned, and in the light of a faerie-fire lit brazier one might notice the barbed spade gleaming at the tip of a prehensile tail as the boneless, serpentine sashay of her hips set her tail and skirts to swaying with her steps. Words in a dark tongue caused a globe of indigo energy to erupt in her hand, hovering above her palm as she would her way down the stone-wrought spiral staircase. "Watch your step, my dear. We donnae get visitors here very often. It would be unfortunate if you tumbled to your death while visiting here."

The glow became more distant as the tiefling made her way down and ahead swiftly, obviously quite accustomed to making her way around in the dark. It was obvious she was a little annoyed by the progress she was making in guiding Veighn's guest through the castle. "Are you coming" Tarry not, there are things here that are best left to wonder about, Lady DeAuster."

The only sound offered with the occasional swishing of dark plum silks as she followed the curious creature. Mind already searching through the various lessons taught and determining her to be some sort of Tiefling of sorts. The various sights hardly making that much of impact upon her of course, for her father was a Warlord after all. A Prince of Chaos Undivided, thus Shock wasn't something Cieara felt when looking upon "Trophies" such as they were. Although she did have to admit there was a certain curiously macabre beauty in the way the towering forms had been posed prior to death.

Cieara was also feeling a sense of disappointment. "Shadowfalls" while lovely in it's elegance and comforts, was hardly a showplace for her father's own trophies. For her to do that, she would need to take him to Gharnholme, and that she knew would never happen. Lucius's dislike and distrust would never make such a tour possible. She would never be able to show Veighn her father's Bone Alter, or his vaults. None of the places she and her brother played as children. There was still "Shadow Spires" of course and permissions had already been acquired. Rhystil was willing to allow her to bring a guest to his own obsidian castle. She and Daniel had spent many a summer there and there was plenty of places she might show to Veighn.

In the dimly lit stroll down the that circular stairway, Cieara had little trouble at all seeing in the dark and it was apparent the creature leading the way seemed to have some idea that was obviously misguided. Likely others she had been required to play guide for were not so gifted in the way of Shadow Dancing. For even as her words floated back about "not tarrying long", and glanced back, she would find her guest standing just behind her, with a sardonic arching of an elegant russet brow. Easily caught with the blue glare of the Fae Globe the unique female had summoned to light the way. "Nae fear for me Miss. Malvhista, I am quite familiar with walking about in darkness and have sight enough that a fall to my death is nae likely." Indeed she had caught the name and used it.

There was a mildly amused tone within the soft, cultured words that drifted. As Veighn's associate went silent for a moment, apparently expecting her to keep up the pace. She would discover that Cieara had little trouble in that regard. Her movements graceful and nimble, gait smooth and inherently stealth laden, even in a full sweeping skirt. The flickering of shadows was something Cieara personally found comfortable, having plenty of her own that would come with but a single thought.

She did have to wonder what had caused Veighn to start brooding. For in truth Cieara wasn't sure her own temper, being stretched to the limit over "Social Niceties", disapproval, and an insidious sense of worry she was picking up from her elder sibling, had frayed her controls just a little more she was prepared for. Apparently she would certainly have to rein in her own emotions, as she certainly didn't wish to make matters worse, at least not before this trip had even commenced.

"So what pray tell has caused his Lordship to start brooding this day Miss?" Never hurts to ask after all, this Cieara knew hence the query as she remained but a pace or two behind the graceful creature. * Translation: My kind young man Do not sleep in sorrow But rise swiftly And come along the road with me To the land of honey Where the foreigner has no hold Where you will find happiness Enticing me with sweet music
