It is seldom that I need to sleep. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I actually did need to sleep. However, when we started this vacation, I had decided to dive into it completely. Since dreams were another vacation for the mind, and there is only one way to slide into dreams, sleep was going to be a prerequisite.

So this was how Fallen found me that morning, laying and relaxing with the first rays of sunlight kissing my flesh through the lace curtains. I'm not sure how long he had been sitting at the foot of the bed watching me. When I woke, though, it was to his fingers tracing along the back of my calf which had slipped from beneath the covers of the bed.

He teased me, "Brightest morning, my dear." Yeah, he likes to play off my typical greeting as a little tease between us sometimes. Of course I gave him a soft purring laugh.

"So, what have you been up to?"

"Going to and fro, and hither and yon."

"And did you come across anything interesting?"

By this time I had turned over and sat up in the bed, my knees pulled up close and hugged to myself as I prepared to hear about his evening antics. I glanced out the window briefly as I saw a couple going hand-in-hand on a stroll down to the beach before again turning my full attention to Fallen.

"Actually something did happen last night. It seems a little creature from my past believes itself to be above its station, and capable of somehow threatening me."

A single brow rose at this statement, "Truly?"

"Of course you remember the last night we were in Rhy'din?"

A slight nod offered, "Of course."

"And the kiss I gave to Taneth?"

Another nod as I gave him a wicked smile at the memory of that particular evening of fun.

"Well, it seems this creature has taken umbrage at my consorting with Taneth."

"Hmmm. So the little Jezebel wannabe believes herself to have some power. How wonderful for her. I say let her thrash herself against the door of her own personally created hell as she realizes she has none." With that, I slipped out from beneath the covers and Fallen offered me a nice long wolf-whistle as I made my way to the bath to get ready for the morning fun on the beach. I glanced at him over my bare shoulder, gave him a wicked wink and a little shake of my cute little tail.

In the soft tempting purr I often use to entice men into my bed, I offered, "Now for us to discuss the more pleasant and enjoyable details of this vacation."

I left the door opened to the bath. Slipping into the shower, I pulled the door to it closed. Slowly the glass started to fog over, granting the only bit of modesty between Fallen and myself. I could still feel his eyes on me as I asked with a soft sexy purr to my voice, "So, what did you have in mind for the day?"

His voice resonated through the room, filling it easily, "I was considering a few of the clubs this evening."

As I ran my hands through my hair, I looked over my shoulder at him. My hand swiped away some of the fogging so I could better see him. The only true disadvantage of being in human form was the limits it placed on things like vision and hearing at times. "Any particular ones you wish to see?" He was sitting on the end of the bed still. His legs were crossed, causing the fabric of his pants to pull a little tighter against his thighs. There were times he could be absolutely delicious to look upon.

He gave me a nonchalant shrug, which told me he had more than just bar hopping on his mind. "Not particularly. What do you think would appeal to Altaire?"

I couldn't help but laugh a little. "Hmmm. She seems to be a sweet angelic one." This was not an indictment of her, just an acknowledgement of her nature that I had seen thus far. "Could be she might like to take a chance and step into the wilder side a bit." I had often noticed that those who held onto their piety the hardest often longed deep inside for those chances to escape the bonds they had woven around themselves. They only needed a little encouragement to take the steps away from their self-confining holiness.

There was a bit of a pause which I took as an opportunity to step from the shower and begin drying myself. Taking the long coil of my hair over my shoulder, I squeezed the water from it and waited for his comment to the suggestion.

"We will give her the chance to choose."

This had me nodding and smiling. Choice was always our way. We chose our steps, every last one. Now she would have a chance to choose hers. Many called us evil. What they really meant was that they made choices, and those choices had consequences that they hadn't seen coming. Well, welcome to the big leagues.

I consider for a moment before asking, "Shall we take a wager on what her choice will be?"

With the towel now wrapped around me, I step over to him and settle onto his lap. He wraps his arms around me, as we hold each other with our gazes. Of course, my intent was to distract him a little, perhaps even confuse him a bit.

I could not help giving a wicked smile as I felt his fingers tease along my inner thigh. He growled low and asked, "What shall we wager?"

I had finished dressing, and had my hair tied up off my neck. Not my usual choice, but then neither was the dress that I wore this evening. Usually I stayed with the red that had become a signature color for me. Tonight, though, it was the silver and black which fit my curves.

When we joined Altaire, I couldn't be more pleased, as she had seemed to match my mood and wore what appeared to be deep blue accented with the silver as if she wore the very stars of the heavens. I greeted her with a smile, "Oh, my dear, how lovely you look this night." As Fallen joined us, I then queried, "Have you considered where you wish to go this evening?"

I couldn't help but smile as she almost shyly offered the name of one of the local clubs. It was going to take nothing to bring this one into the fold. Yet as I caught Fallen's eyes, I couldn't help but note the warning there. It was a look I had not seen before in regards to any other. I was used to looks that told me to go play, and looks that said he had made a deal that was to hold us at bay. This one though was not of deals, but gave no release to fully play with the little one.

Still, we were soon at the club, enjoying the music and atmosphere. While there, we talked lightly about events past and some to come. It was while we talked that the conversation turned to hunts, "Have you considered establishing a club yourself, Lyl?"

I actually had, and said as much, "Of course. It would make the hunts easier."

Altaire couldn't help but be a bit curious, "How?"

As I considered my words, Fallen gave a nod and I launched into a small explanation, "Well most who are corrupt will come to places like this and play. They feel safe here. As if no one is there to watch them or record their deeds. Just listen and you can hear it. Taste the air and you can taste their needs and desires. Here they come out much easier than anywhere else." Of course, the air around us was fairly thick with such things this evening.

To make my point more complete, I called over one of the waitresses and spoke to her quietly, whispering instructions into her ear. She then made her way to the bar and filled glasses with the drinks I had just ordered before carrying them across the room to a couple of gentlemen. After excusing myself, I made my way to the dance floor and was soon joined by both of the men. We then danced. First one and then the other. Finally, I was between them both and we danced together. Our bodies close and intimate in the movements. One attempted to steal a kiss but was rewarded with my finger to his lips and a whispered word in his ear.

With a glance shared between them, they then made their way upstairs. I turned and gave a wink to Fallen, who gave me a nod. It was then that I made my way upstairs as well. This night, three of us would ascend. Two had convinced themselves that they were going to heaven. One knew they were about to enter hell.

It was all about choices made. Some free you. Some bind you in more chains.
