Our WestEnd in Pictures!

http://lans-soapbox.com/images/west-end-murial-sm.jpg

The WestEnd is a hodgepodge mismatch of eras and architectural styles.  Many of the buildings have long seen better days. Some stand empty and abandoned while others have been adopted and given new life.  In any given neighborhood you will find them staggered side-by-side.  But Beware; Just because a place looks abandoned doesn't mean it is!

The area closest to the WestEnd Market has the most life and highest population. Many of the buildings have been kept up, some even renovated, a few still reflect the rough edges of glory days gone by.  However, the deeper one gets in to the meandering streets, alleys and byways the more likely they are to find danger lurking.  Beware the empty streets for eyes follow.  Take cautious heed outside the WestEnd Market for many a monster has claimed a place in WestEnd's loneliest, emptiest spaces.  For in the WestEnd it is easy to get lost....and, better yet, stay that way.

Here can be found pictures of the WestEnd as seen through the eyes of those that call it home.

((Everyone who plays in the WestEnd are invited to post their pictorial ideals of their WestEnd vision.  From homes to businesses, to pictures of the people that can be found in the WestEnd.  Yes, even character pics are invited!

Please be sure to give us info on who/what/when/where or why to avoid confusion.

Please be advised:  Everything created by players remain the original creators content and cannot be destroyed, messed up, attacked, etc. without the original creator(s) permission.

Thanks!

Bel and Sun's Brownstone - Before Renovation

Just across the street from Sid and Scottie's Brownstone stands a renovated vision of days gone by.  However that's not how it originally looked!  Much effort went in to reviving this aged and abandoned beauty.

WestEnd Occupants would notice that the Graffiti that decorates the Compound walls changes often and on the whims of the Owners and Staff.  Here's a sampling of some of the more popular murals:

Due to many patrons worrying about the mushrooms we serve we wish to educate the masses by showing you what a magic mushroom actually looks like -

Grandma Moses

When I first got to Rhy'Din it was little more than an inn in the middle of nowhere with very little town.  However the Nexus is a pesky critter indeed.  It dropped things from all over the place smack down just 'bout any old where.  Including an old church, a bunch of buildings from all earth eras and some from places we still ain't figured out all that much about too.

Somehow, over time and tides, the WestEnd happened, with its mismatched streets, urban blocks filled with a variety of architecture that would never have happened on its own and a population just as unique.

Sometime last year I came across an old photo taken years back showing the Clock Tower and Perp Miz.

I've included a picture I painted of my lil Memsy too, just because it's dear to my old heart.  Hope ya like it?  If ya do, I might share more of my, er, um, "art".

Perp Miz Main Church

This is only the church part of the building, the rectory is off to the left, it don't look too much like the church as it wasn't likely part of it to start off with.  If I can get an image of it, I will surely share it, but then again, ya could just drop by and see it fer yourself.

We still have mass every Sunday, and sometimes on Wednesdays too.  Bingo is called every Thursday Night, round about sunset.  Bingo can be right fun when the particular callers show up.  Must say Sid is quite a riot.  She always does a right fine job and brings us the best hooch too.

The Old Clock Tower
https://lans-soapbox.com/images/westend-clocktower.png

The Old Clock Tower ain't never kept no time.  It ticks, sure, and it has hands, sometimes.  But the bell chimes whenever it likes and often not the time of day it says it is.  We consider it a WestEnd Fancy - something that ain't got no explanation and just adds to the nuance of the area.  A mystery we ain't in a hurry to solve or, for that matter, fix.  Long as it don't wake us up at night we're okay with it.

My Lil Memsy
https://lans-soapbox.com/images/Memsy.png
My Lil Memsy, I sure do miss that little lamb!  I painted this when she was but a wee one, she got much bigger as she grew up.  Its one of my first watercolors.  I prefer oil paint today.  Still, never had a day of trouble with my Memsy. She personified the meaning of "you're a lamb", such a sweet, kind little lady she was.  And her milk was the bees knees too!

If ya like her, let me know and I may share more of my art.
