Bristle Crios Snow Moon

Bristle Crios will be holding its third annual Snow Moon celebration.

Each year Bristle Crios celebrates the full moon in February, known as the Snow Moon.

The winter snow has much significance throughout world cultures. In Cherokee stories, the small child Snow Angel goes on a desperate mission to save her father when he disappears during a winter hunt. Her mother then had to search for her missing family members. Through a miracle, she finds them. In Russian myth, a childless couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter, a fair Snow Maiden created from the snow. Eventually the maiden grew to love someone in their village, melting her heart of snow. In Greece, the story of Persephone tells the tale of how the winter was created when Demeter was upset over losing her daughter. Learn more about snow and winter myths here.

Not only will other players be aiming for you, but the pine trees surrounding the playing field are enchanted to throw snowballs as well. Chaos abounds, but you are sure to have a good time.

The culinary students of the Academy of Bristle Crios were challenged to create fun, flavorful appetizers and cookies for this year's Snow Moon. Sample some of everything at the event and judge them for yourself. What grade would you give each"

Warm Appetizers

Cold Drinks

Snowball 1.5 ounces marshmallow vodka 1.5 ounces vanilla cream stir all parts together in a double old fashion glass rimmed in festive sprinkles and serve with ice.

Winter Wind a double shot of peppermint 101 straight out of the freezer. If you aren't cold you will be soon.

Yellow Snow 2 ounces citrus vodka 2 ounces lemon juice 2 ounces lemon pucker rim a martini glass in liquid lemon warhead candy and sugar. Shake all ingredients with ice, strain and serve with a twist of lemon rind.

Eskimo Kisses 2 ounces milk with two drops of red food coloring 2 ounces of peppermint schnapps 1 tablespoon dark chocolate syrup stir all ingredients in a double old fashion and then pour into a martini glass. Garnish with a chocolate kiss candy.

Ice Bomb in a hollow ice orb mold, fill with vodka and serve.

Hot Drinks

Tickled Pink Mocha dark chocolate mocha with raspberry syrup and chocolate dipped raspberries to garnish.

Spiced Kisses white mocha with allspice, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon fireball whiksey.

Mint Dreams milk chocolate mocha with peppermint schnapps, vodka, topped with peppermint marshmallows. Served with vanilla marshmallows dipped in caramel and milk chocolate.

Eat Me each cup and saucer is handmade of milk chocolate filled with cocoa whipped cream, sprinkled with cocoa powder. Eat if you dare or ask for the special whiskey whipped cream.
