Topic: Drawn Through the Wind

The wind raced past her face as Neona raced. Ryna called out in elven. And the mare went faster. Over the ground, like she was flying. Through the forest, across the glen. Quick light and fierce. The mare raced with a passion for the wind.

Ryna rode. Her hands on the reins. She rode with skill. And the years she and her favored mare shared. Neona knew every call, every mark along this pathway now. She jumped fallen logs and zig zagged through the trees. Ryna laughed and let the wind race past her. They were not hunting, not fleeing. But just ridding.

They raced till she saw something. A building. She looked over her shoulder. She had ridden past the path, way past it. She was north of the market place now. Thankfully she had settled in tot he woods and city well enough to be able to know North from south east from west. But she had never seen the place before her. Large gates seemed bro from large bolder stone walls. The gate was open. The walls seemed to grow from the earth and disappear in to the forest beyond.

Ryna dismounted slowly. Walking towards the gates. They were open. She saw no sign of any guards. But she knew that sometimes magic guarded places. Neona nudged her. Ryna smiled. Then reached up and took the reins. Though she would not usually lead the mare, this was new ground, so for now Ryna would lead the mare gently forward.

She caught a whiff of flowers. Of gardens. Neona nudged her a bit more. "Its alright." Ryna looked back then walked some more. She came to a center circle and saw houses, or manors. Seven of them. Which she was not sure. There were gardens by each. Looking out she could see more flowers more gardens, lakes and trees that bore fruit. A vast grounds.

"I wonder what this place is?" Neona nudged her from behind. Ryna turned to the mare and ran her fingers through her mane. "The gates were open. I felt no harm in going through them. It was as if something drew us here."Looking back to the vast compound.

Fiona was coming out of one of the large gardens and headed towards the front of Eternal House. She held a large bundle of flowers in her arms.

She never pretended to know much about flowers, or d"cor for that matter, but she would try her hand at both on occasion. Carefully cutting what she thought would be a nice little artistic statements for a few centerpieces, she attempted to select blooms that would compliment the golds, deep reds, and dark woods in the particular sitting room in Eternal House. Although she was officially a member of Demon House, she liked to help all areas of the grounds when she could. She knew she would never be as good as the florist who was here before her, but she would try. She began with some of her favorites white flowers, a few white Lilies and fragrant Gardenias. To emphasis the reds in the room, she selected maroon Dahlias. She loved how layer after layer of petals bloomed outwards in a seemingly infinite spiral. Some deep red Roses added in the arrangement would give an elegant velvet feel. She didn't know which color to select from there, but a few deep orange Orchids caught her eye, featuring a little hint of the dark red and even white in their centers. Sometimes nature would guide you, if you just looked. Nearby, she found some beautiful orange flowers the complimented the orchids. When she got closer, she could only identify them as Tulips though they were much fuller than normal tulips. She thought that would be just enough for a large arrangement in the Eternal House sitting room and she may even have enough for a few smaller sets for a vase here and there around the ground floor.

Fiona was analyzing the full bundle of blooms in her arms when she saw the woman leading a white steed. Fiona smiled at her. She felt comfortable the woman must have come with pure intentions, being able to gain entrance through the front gate. Though, Fiona always kept a close watch over new guests when she could. It would be over confident to imagine that no one ever would be powerful enough to penetrate Bristle Crios's magical and mundane defenses.

Still smiling, Fiona approached the woman with a soft, calm walk. She spoke loud enough for the woman to hear, but still in her soft tone.

"Hello, traveler."

She had no idea if the woman was from Rhydin or not. She didn't recognize her, not like Fiona spent much time off the grounds to begin with. The nexus would often bring people to their doors; other lost souls had found their way there. Either way, all with goodwill in their hearts would be welcome.

Fiona shifted the large flower collection in her arms. A few loose petals fell next to her pastel green soft canvas shoes while she walked. A similar green was accented in an intricate embroidery floral design along the bottom edge of her long white cotton gown, most of which was covered in light smudges of earth and a yellow dusting of flower pollen. Her shoes fared no better. Her long deep red hair was pulled back and fastened loosely with a sliver decorative comb. She tilted her head back lightly to force a few loose strands of her hair from her green eyes. She stopped a few feet before the woman, giving her a respectable distance.

She had never seen such a place as the compound before her. Taken back by the houses the gardens, the very feeling she got from just standing there. Neona behind her pawed at the ground softly. The voice started her for a moment. She had thought she was alone standing there awed by the buildings before her.

"Hello." She gave a soft smile to the woman with all the flowers in her arms. So many flowers. Each different each more lovely. "Those are lovely flowers." She could never name them all,she noted the roses and lilies. For they were the flowers she could recognize. The contrast of colors, the soft scents that floated to meet her. Ryna watched some of the petals float down towards the ground, and looked over the woman who carried the bundle. A sweep of red hair that was pulled back from a pretty face and green eyes. A white cotton gown that showed signs of being in the garden, with its smudges of dirt and flecks of pollen. The simple shoes, of soft green. A gardener perhaps, or someone who lived at the massive estate.

"I do not mean to intrude. But I was ridding and found myself some how drawn here."She looked back towards the buildings. Neona on the other hand seemed far more interested in the new arrival. The mare walked over and Ryna let the reins go. Neona was a sweet and gentle mare and often got a feeling about people. Neona lowered her head and gave a long look towards the woman and the flowers. The mare gave a nudge to the bundle with her brow tipped nose.

"Neona, those flowers are not for you." Ryna took two fluid steps towards her mare. Taking up the reins easily she gave Neona a long stroke with her hand. The mare gave a toss of her mane."This place, it is amazing. I have ridden through the woods many times and never come upon it." Looking back again towards the houses and the gardens. "The gates, they were open. I do hope I am not intruding on some high lords estate."

Fiona ONeill

Fiona's eyes softened as she said, "Perhaps you have not found us until now because it was not time yet."

Her attention turned to the mare for a moment. She stared at the beast, trying to remember something from long ago, a white mare with a long, gray mane. Was it her's as a child" No, she lived on such a small island off the coast of Ireland. After all, Tory Island is only a mere three miles in length and maybe one mile across at its widest point. Her modest family certainly had no use for horses. Maybe it was something as simple as reminiscence from a dream. She had been having strange dreams and nightmares lately, she justified to herself.

Fiona returned her gaze to the woman and continued, "You are certainly not intruding. Although I believe there are several high lords and ladies here, I hope that you will find that most here would rather be judged on their merits rather than their titles. This place was founded as a safe place for lost souls to find refuge. Some find their way here and return out on their own stronger. Others find value in giving back and remain on the grounds to assist the next generation. A few stay simply because they feel at home here and have not yet felt the need to leave. Each person has a different story of why he came and why he stays or leaves. As long as each contributes when he can and does not interfere in the well-being of any other guest, anyone is welcome."

Fiona wanted to give her a flower offering her friendship, but she remembered that was supposed to be a yellow rose. She only had red roses. White could work; it signified purity and innocence, right' Instead of offering a flower of friendship on behalf of just herself, she would offer one on behalf of the goodwill and pure intentions of the compound. She reached in and selected a long stemmed white lily from her bunch and extended it out to the woman, carefully balancing the large bundle in one arm.

"My name is Fiona Knightfall?" She certainly wouldn't state her full title, Lady Fiona O"Neill of House Knightfall. She would rather project her own good example by practicing what she preached. She believed a title was something one should continue to earn. Smiling, she continued, ""and I welcome you as my guest to Bristle Crios."

Neona looked back with lovely brown eyes. Watching. Her coat gleamed soft white, her mane and tail were ashy gray. And at the end of ehr lovely white nose was a smoft smudging of chocolate brown color. Now held back just lightly by Ryna's carefull hand on the reins."Perhaps you are right."Smiling she looked over the estate once more. "It is a lovely estate. I do not often judge by titles, more by a persons actions. But I would never wish to intrude upon someone's land, or home."Looking around with wide wonder still as she spoke. "What a wonderful place. I could see how one would wish to stay here, even for a little while."

The extended flower was taken with an ungloved hand. "Thank you." Lifting it to her nose to breathe in the scent of the lily. "Its is lovely." She took it a sign of welcome. She tucked it in to her raven hair.

"Mae govannen, Fiona Knightfall. My name is Rynallae Mara Tira?allara." The spoken Elven was out of respect, and habit. She let the reins go and held out her hand. "But those I have come to know here in Rhydin call me Ryna." Neona now free moved closer once more. "And this is Neona." She gave her mare a soft nudge with her hip. Neona paid it no mind and went to sniffing at the bundle of flowers once more. A smile bloomed across her face then at the formal welcome. "Bristle Crios."Looking back at the buildings she nodded. "You are most kind." She had been welcomed in full only by Haley and her father. As well as the horses they kept. Mr. Greg had given her the loft she now stayed in and the job she now adored.

Gazing back more towards the gardens Ryna smiled. Perhaps something had drawn her here, perhaps something good.

Fiona stood smiling, but her eyes tensed when the woman spoke in a different language. Fiona just assumed she was saying "thank you? or something similar. Her eyes softened as the woman spoke her name and Fiona was grateful for the allowance of the nickname. She always worried when using long names because she never wanted to offend by saying their name incorrectly.

Fiona knew the more proper procedure when welcoming someone to your home was to show them around. She was on her way to Eternal House anyway, but she noticed as Ryna's attention turned towards the gardens. It gave her an idea and she offered Ryna an option.

"I was just getting ready to take these flowers as decoration for one of the houses. I would be happy to show you around one of the Houses, or, if you allow me to drop these off in a vase of water, I could show you around the gardens and you could select your own arrangement as we go."

She thought it would be best to show Ryna around an area, then leave her to explore as she wished. Fiona never wanted anyone on the compound to feel restricted or that they were under constant supervision. Some were closely monitored, but no one needed to know. Ever cautious, Fiona would make sure that Ryna was observed like all new guests who had been assessed for potential threats to the grounds and the other members. Even a sanctuary has to keep watch over outsiders to protect its people. Fiona never took potential danger lightly, not when so many others put their lives in the coven's hands.

She continued her friendly smile, knowing she would be keeping an eye on the girl for awhile.

Ryna

Ryna smiled looking towards the houses she wondered what they each looked like within. She could picture them being grand, filled with color, light, texture and form. Like some of the places that Haley had read to her of, of great dukes manors. Places from fantasy and fairytale. She wondered if the manors there before her were all different within or the same. Wondered what sorts of people called them home.

Then looking off towards the gardens again thinking on them, they would be wonderful to wander guided or alone. Filled with sights, sounds and smells. The colors of the blooms bright and full, the greens of leaves. The scent of roses and lilies. The feeling of grass. Looking back to the flowers within Fiona's arms Ryna could almost picture them within one of the great manors. They would fill a space with a pop of color, and scents to warm and entice.

Neona eyed the flowers as well but for other reasons.

" I have never seen manors such as these before. It would be interesting to see what one looks like within. I can almost picture those lovely flowers within some glass vase upon a grand table." Looking back to her mare then away towards the gardens. "The gardens perhaps I could explore more later? For I have never shied away from outdoor explorations." Neona gave Ryna's side a nudge. The mare wanted to wander too, Ryna could just tell.

"Is there some where I could take Neona to' I would not want her wandering and nibbling on any of the fine flowers." The mare gave a snort to that. "She is as curious as a small cat sometimes." Neona gave Ryna a nudge again and Ryna chuckled lightly. "You are curious my sweet Neona." She gave the mare a soft pet along her long nose. Neona nuzzled that hand with closed eyes.

"Just some where I could tie her off lightly. Or a stable stall she could stay in.I promise then she will not be curious and go eating your lovely garden grass of flowers." Said looking back to Fiona.

Fiona nodded to the idea of taking Ryna on a tour then allowing her to explore further on her own. When she heard the request for a place to leave her horse, Fiona's eyes grew wide and she smiled. She forgot about a place to leave the mare. She looked down for a moment, still smiling, secretly laughing to herself. She just was not used to caring for animals, though she respected the close relationship and bond between horse and rider.

Looking up to Ryna, Fiona responded kindly, "Yes, there are a few places Neona can stay. There is a large stable located within the school grounds. It houses horses used for training purposes, as well as horses owned by the members. That stable is what I would consider their primary housing. The school is located over there." Fiona pointed to a building larger than the seven houses not to far in the distance, maybe about 100 yards away. A few people were walking around its exterior, undoubtedly moving to their classes. "There are riding and walking trails that extend from the school to most of the woods around the grounds. Most reach each of the Houses, as well, creating natural paths to important locations on the compound. You are welcome to take a look around the Academy once you become more familiar with the grounds. You may enjoy some of the classes, or may even like to teach at some time."

Fiona continued, "For now, I would suggest using the small canopy patio near here. There is one by most of the Houses. Some have rustic metal awnings overhead, while others have colorfully designed hand dyed canvas umbrellas. Some have soft redwood mulch floors, others have hard tiled mosaic foundations, and everything in between. The shelters have a variety of purposes like holding small tables and chairs to eat outside on nice days or providing open shaded areas to play games outside. The Head of Bristle Crios, Miranda Branson, always attempts to consider the needs of the coven and provide based on those needs. Many of our locations have several uses as a result. Often times people will leave their animals at the shelters, tied to one of the posts. I can lead you to the one nearest here if you would like to leave Neona there while I show you around this house, Eternal House."

Fiona ONeill

Upon Ryna's agreement, Fiona would lead her to the side of Eternal House. It was a large building, with several stories, much like the other six Houses in view nearby. Each had its own unique look. One House looked like it could have been an old gothic church with intricate grey stonework creating edged patterns and arches. Another House featured a tutor inspired design with expansive bay windows and defining large chimneys. Yet another gave the appearance of an elegant Victorian castle in light sandstone with rounded towers extending into the sky.

Eternal House, itself, almost surpassed any overall architectural distinction. A dome topped conservatory extended from a flat roofed Hispanic baroque styled section of the building with a defining arched wall. As they would walk around to its side, an sprawling lake could be seen not too far from its rear. A flowing stream stretched out from the lake and disappeared into the woods surrounding the property. The area around the lake and house was mostly open land with the exception of the gardens and ornamental trees.

Once they would arrive to the covered patio, Fiona would wait for Ryna to contain Neona. The canopy was a simple, light beige canvas that reached over the area secured to metal beams and four thick metal posts. The fabric top hung over from it's A-shaped frame. Butted up against the four posts along the ground was aged wooden beams that provided the frame outline for the stone mosaic pattern of the floor. Flat stones of all sizes made intricate sweeping motions in various directions out from the center of the squared shelter.

While Fiona waited, she would lay down her bundle of flowers on a wall ledge outside of Neona's reach in the shelter and collect some water in a large watering can nearby. Fiona would bring a small empty pot that had been laying out for one of the plants in the garden, set it out under the shelter, and pour some of the water into the pot that had not yet been drained with holes for the mare to drink from while she waited for them to complete their tour. Fiona had offered a gift to the rider. Now it was time she offered something to the steed.

Ryna

"Yes, I think Neona would l rather like to be close for now. And then I can also assure she doesn't get in to any trouble. Please lead on. We shall follow. " Ryna would agree to lead Neona to the canopy patio near the house that Fiona was going to.

She could always check out the stables later. She had followed along about the stable, and noted where it was set within the complex. Ryna knew she would gravitate there to that building sooner rather than later. The notion of walking and ridding trails made her smile. She nodded along, she would take note of the Academy once she became more familiar with the grounds. The notion of taking or even teaching classes made her think more on that. She had never really attended a school in any normal sense nor taught in one. But she was fond of teaching.

She listened to the very detailed descriptions of the many different sorts of canopy patios. Looking at the buildings she could image them all, they would all be different but lovely. Hearing that there was indeed a head of these house holds Ryna took the name to note. Ryna could only imagine trying to run a place such as this.

She led Neona along towards the house and its shaded canopy. She had taken the houses name to note as well and wondered why it was called that. But her question was quickly replaced with awe whens he saw the house. It stood tall with many levels. Upon closer look she thought it would indeed fit in ,within some fairytale. Each house was different and Ryna could only awe at the outside and wonder at what sat within.

The colors of brick and stone, the different styles , ones that she had no names for. A few had the look of a small manor or castle. Others looked more rustic almost as if she might still be within some reach of Faervel.

There standing beside the Eternal house. Ryna brushed her fingers along the building to take in its feel. As she and Neona followed around the side Ryna was surprised by the lake. She had not expected there to be such water there. It faded in to the distant woods. The open area about was gardens, grass and trees.

Once they arrived at the patio Ryna found a place to gently tie Neona. There where she could move in or out of the shade. There was enough room for the mare and good shade. Ryna gave Ryna a brush with her hand then smiled when Fiona gave the mare some water. Neona said her thanks by dunking her nose in to the provided water pail.

"She will be as content as can be." Ryna gave Neona's wet nose a kiss when the mare came up from her first laps of water. "Such a vast grounds, and such an amazing buildings."She looked to the one before her, then back to Neona.

"Dar'sinome Neona." The mare looked to Ryna then went back to the water.

Ryna then smiled to Fiona. "Thank you for giving her water, and for allowing her to stay shaded within such a lovely patio. "She moved over to where Fiona had laid the flower bundle and took half of them up. "I shall help you in with these. Since you've been kind enough to endure my curiosity and offer me a tour. Please led on when ready."With half the bundle of flower sin her arms she could take in the scents of the flowers she had not known. The scents were sweet and spicy, warm and vibrant. She would wait for Fiona to lead her in.

Fiona smiled graciously as Ryna picked up half of the flower collection. She selected the remaining bouquet and began leading her back to the front of Eternal House. She said, more relaxed and lightheartedly, "I think it would be best to begin at the beginning, or in this case, the front door." As she walked, she began giving her a brief history.

"Morgan Doyle founded the compound a long time ago after the nexus took him from his homeland of Ireland." Fiona had worked hard to remove her Irish accent, but it always crept through when she said "Ireland". She continued, "Eventually Miranda Branson was brought to Rhydin from the nexus and reunited with her long lost love, but their time was again cut short. In a valiant effort, Morgan lost his life to save Miranda and all of Bristle Crios."

They approached the two large wooden doors to Eternal House. Fiona opened one and allowed Ryna to go in first, out of respect. Once they were both inside, Fiona led Ryna into the first room nearest the front door, an elegant sitting room. The walls were covered in a rich carmine red wallpaper with a classical floral design in monochromatic tones. Elegant rugs covered the dark cherry hardwood floors. Plush Venetian red velvet seating surrounded the dark walnut brown fireplace with hand carved scrolled designs. Bookcases extended halfway up around the room to display many books and crafted statues. Large bronze bowls extended from the ceiling in matching chains, holding a warm glowing light. Multiple antique paintings of people long ago forgotten hung on the walls, giving them life eternal, immortalized in oil colors and cracking paints.

"This is one of the sitting rooms. Others might call it a reading room. There are many common spaces in each of the houses. There is a lot of red used in Demon House, as well. I am officially a part of Demon House, but I stay here with my husband?" Fiona trailed off a moment. She continued smiling but her smile became vacant. Looking out into the room, but her eyes lost that friendly luster as she became lost in thought. Their second year anniversary was coming up soon. He went missing just a few months after they had wed and was away for a year. When he returned, he told her about his harrowing tale. She did not find any fault in him for going, he went to rescue his brother, but she would always regret the time they had lost. She didn't realize it until now, but her story became much like Miranda's. She, too, was lucky enough to be reunited with her lost love. She just prayed that their love would not meet the same end as Morgan faced.

""Kristoph," she concluded. It felt odd saying it, not because she was not used to him being home, but because she did not call him that.

Fiona turned back to face Ryna, her friendly, gleaming eyes focusing on her as she continued in her speech, "He acts as one of the advisors for this House while I am still an advisor for Demon House. Each of the houses have a few people who work closely with their House's basic functioning like ordering supplies, keeping track of the census, acting as a mediator to members, and other similar purposes. Others work to defend the grounds, or tend to the gardens and orchards, and everything in between." She said sweetly, "Everyone finds something to accomplish here. There is no job too big or too small; every task is vital and every person is important.?

Ryna

Ryna followed Fiona around the house once Neona seemed settled. She walked beside her and to the door. Then inside as she was allowed in first. She listened tot he beginning to the tale. While being taken back by the view of the interior of the manor. Ryna had never heard of Ireland. But she smiled at the hint of accent that came to Fiona's voice when she spoke. Ryna listened to the tale. The loss of love. The gaining of a new life. Ryna took in the view of the room they entered first.

Walls of rich red, dark floors and rather soft looking seating. There was a fireplace that fit in so well with the colors of the room. Ryna had never seen so much red in a room, but it felt oddly welcoming. It might have been the books, books meant that one could learn more. Or maybe it was the feeling of welcome the room gave off despite its deep colors. There were paintings upon the walls. Though Ryna knew little of art she had seen art upon walls in Haley's home as well as other places about the city.

As Fiona spoke Ryna looked back to her. Taking in every word. When Fiona mentioned her husband. Ryna noted the change of tone in her voice. That wistful look a way. That touch of sadness" Ryna wasn't sure it was sadness she saw, more of a loss of connection. Some where between longing, love and loss. When the mans name was spoken Ryna nodded. Ryna had never wed, but she knew what loving someone and losing them could do. Even if they were still with you.

She said nothing to the look she had seen, nor that she had noted that loss of luster. She returned the friendly glance. "So each one of the houses has a different name." A slow nod. She wondered if there were meanings behind the names. But she held her question as Fiona went on.

"It is all very well taken of. So lovely and beautiful. I am curious, the names of the manors do they have some sort of meaning" "

Fiona ONeill

"Yes," Fiona answered as she began to lead Ryna into a large library nearby. There were several floors of walk-around balconies lined with bookcases built into the walls. Above the large open room, colorful hand painted murals decorated the arched ceilings. Antique cherry wood desks and display cases sat out, providing the room's few furniture pieces. A few overstuffed chairs provided a soft spot to curl up and read. The whole room was bathed in a supernaturally bright radiance, more then what the few large oil burning lamps and colorful stained glass windows would have allowed, and perfect for reading into all hours of the night.

Fiona continued, "The houses each have a certain" demographic we try to accommodate due to their certain" needs."

She was used to speaking more cryptically in the presence of strangers, but she began to open up. "Mage House is designed around those with magical abilities. It boasts rare herb gardens for its potions and extensive libraries of spell books. Alchemy House is set up for those who specialize in science. It comes equipped with custom made bunker rooms for experiments gone awry. Warrior House is set up for the fitness enthusiasts, with all types of gymnasiums and physical training rooms. Demon House provides a source of shelter for demonic entities and the undead..."

Fiona looked to one of the books on display. She purposefully left out which she classified as in her own House. She only assumed she was undead. Tied to a stone carved Tau Cross on her small hometown of Tory Island, she had been stoned by some of her own people. Dry lightening had struck the Tau Cross before she was dealt the death blow. She went unconscious and awoke miles inland on the main island of Ireland. It took her time to come into her abilities and be able to control them, though she mostly controlled them now by not using them. She could only pray that she did not earn them through some unremembered pact with an evil entity in order to gain eternal life thereafter. If so, her classification in her House would be much different.

Turning back to Ryna, Fiona continued, "Werewolf House has a natural theme to its d"cor and can claim the compound's best outdoor fitness equipment and trails. Vampire House's main features are its solar reducing layout and draperies and its special "wine" cellar underneath the House. This House, Eternal House, contains many libraries granting information about all types of mythological creatures and ancient forces. It is rumored that some of the books, when taken from the libraries, will return after an extended period of time, to ensure their secrets can not be hidden away and lost forever. I do not know if that is true, but I like to believe it is. At least, those are my favorite elements in each House. I am sure if you asked another member, they may give you a completely different rendition of the Bristle Crios estate."

Ryna

Date: 2014-07-01 15:16 EST
Ryna was nearly drawn to the books. They had become something she had known of but never seen in such abundance. How wonderful they all were. So many and so different from the simple leather bound tomes of home. Haley had turned her on to the love of reading, after Ryna had asked the girl so many questions about Rhydin, and the strange world Haley called earth.

But there in that room Ryna felt awed and inspired. It was a wash of warmth, color and feeling. The scent of the books, the feeling of the room. Looking back to Fiona Ryna realized she had gravitated towards on of the walls and smiled sheepishly before taking a step back, once more listening to the descriptions of the houses and why they were called that.

Ryna had sensed that slight pause before Fiona went in to more detail. She understood how secrets of home and hearth could be. One wanted to protect those secrets with everything they had.

But as Fiona spoke Ryna listened taking in each little detail. The mention of undead would have for many been a pausing moment. But Ryna merely nodded, she had learned about some of the other sorts of residents of Rhydin. That not all were human, or alive. She never did judge anyone simply based on if they were alive or not.

Looking back up towards the ceiling then around the room Ryna had the urge to pick a book at random and see what it held within its pages. She felt her self moving a step but stopped herself once more. Looking back to Fiona with a soft smile as she continued her tale of why each house was named as it was. When the tale was done Ryna pressed her fingers along the spine of the nearest book.

"It is a magical room." She did now step a bit more inward towards the row of books. "I can see residents and guests sitting enjoying the books. I have become a new lover of the written word. Though we had books and scrolls in Faervel. They were nothing like these. Nor have I ever seen so many in once spot before." Looking back to Fiona Ryna shifted. Speaking of Faervel had made Ryna a bit home sick. Though she had opened herself up to Rhydin and now felt more at ease it was still ot the same as home. "The way you describe each of the houses and your favored elements of them. I could close my eyes and see them. Though I suppose at one point or another if I stay I shall be curious and poke around for myself."

She gave the spine of the book one last glance and touch before waiting to continue on. "Are there many members of the estate?" They had not seen anyone just as of yet. Ryna wondered how many different views of each house there were, she was sure in good time she would gain her own perspective on each.

Fiona answered, "I like to think so. I am sure it depends on the natural ebb and flow of the nexus. We are happy to take in lost souls and help them to branch out and form lives of their own. As a result, people come and go everyday here. Some more permanent members move off the ground while still remaining as working members on the grounds. Others build families. It truly depends on the circumstances. We are seldom at full capacity, but most people seem to be willing to give up a little space to help lend a hand to someone to needs the room."

She smiled as Ryna seemed to take an interest in the books, one book in particular, even. Fiona said kindly, "You are welcome to take a book home with you for some light reading if you like, or you can come back anytime to borrow more if you like. I only ask that you may return what you take, unless you would like to test the rumor and see if the book returns on its own."

She turned towards the door. Looking away on purpose, she wanted to allow Ryna to take any book that caught her interest without having Fiona see which she selected. Her interests were her own. Beginning to walk slowly from the library into the hallway, Fiona wanted to allow her enough time to take a quick glance around to select a book. She intended to then walk into the dining room closest to them.

The bold fireplace was lined with small tiles in mahogany brown, deep cherry red, bronze, and gold. A large mirror above it was surrounded with stunning wooden shelves accented with spindle posts. Golden urns and other trinkets were on display. Patterns upon patterns in the wallpaper and fabrics mirrored the same hues as the tile. The only plain surface was the large wooden dining table, seating eight. There was an empty vase on the table, undoubtedly for the bundle of flowers they both shared in carrying. Suspended over the table was a bronze chandelier with heavy opaque glass bowls. They emitting a soft glow upwards, drawing attention to the ornate ceiling medallion above the chandelier.

Ryna listened. Taking in more details about the compound and those who called it home. She was sure to be inquisitive about the houses with anyone who dared to wish their insights.

When she was welcomed to take one of the books. Her mind swam with all the possibilities. So many books. How could one ever just choose one? Moving closer to the books once more Ryna looked them over again. She would of coarse bring back anything she took. She watched Fiona turn away and wondered if it was on purpose. Then at random Ryna picked one of the books off the nearest shelf...It was bound in deep rich green. The letters upon it embossed in bold silver read: Myths and Legends. Ryna flipped the cover open and saw a well illustrated picture of a white horse with a golden horn in a forest of green trees. Ryna smiled thinking that she might indeed like this book.

Tucking the book under her free arm Ryan then followed Fiona. Ryna crossed in to the room closest to them and saw it was a space for eating. The room was in tones of gold, a fire place on the back wall was in tones of rich wood and beheld a fine mirror. The floor was wooden and there under the dinning table sat a rug of blues and gold. The table was large wooden and could sit eight. There upon that table was an empty vase, that needed flowers within it.

The room was lit by the light that hung over the table, that cast its glow upwards giving the room a warm feeling. Ryna stepped forward and placed her bundle of flowers gently in to the open empty vase. They were perfect for this room. They added more color and more warmth. Stepping back still with that green bound book under her arm she smiled at the flowers in their vase. Now all the table would need was plates to eat from and people to sit at it.

Fiona added her own flowers to the large vase and looked to Ryna. She said kindly, "We have a guest bedroom nearby that is vacant. I would love to be able to show you a room in case you should ever need to join us for a stay."

With her permission, Fiona would begin to lead her to the hallway and up a staircase by the dining room. She used the lull in conversation to ask about her new guest. Before asking anything, Fiona was usually careful not to ask questions that would pry or become too personal. She tried to ask open ended questions to allow her the opportunity to answer as much or as little as she wished to divulge. Privacy was important to Fiona and she respected other people's privacy as a result. Making a bit of small talk on their quick journey, Fiona asked, "How long have you been in Rhydin?"

Once on the second floor, the available bedroom was directly next to the stairs. Fiona listened intently to her answer as she led Ryna up and into the room.

The guest bedroom was in all tones of gold. A shiny golden mantle housed tan mosaic tiling surrounding the fireplace that provided a light glow onto the bed. The bed frame was a hand carved honey maple wood. The pillows and bedspread were in a rich camel color, sewn with intrigue swirled designs giving the monochromatic bed a unique texture. The dresser, nightstands, and other furniture pieces shared the same honey maple wood. Creamy pine thick slatted shades hung over the large windows. There were many angles in the walls of the room, giving more space and definition to the room than a simple box layout. Overhead, a gleaming golden ceiling was comprised of raised detailing and molding to create special shapes and patterns. Wall-to-wall simple beige carpeting covered the floor, giving warmth and a muted tone to accentuate all the glistening golds and textures in the room.

Once inside, Fiona gave a bit of an explanation of the sleeping arrangements. "Each living space is a little bit different. Most have private bathrooms, like this one. Not all have them, but there are plenty of public restrooms in each house. Some of the living spaces have small kitchen areas and some have little sitting areas. Some personal living spaces have a full kitchen, living room, office, and several bedrooms. The space allotted depends on the needs of the person and their family and guests. Each person is able to decorate and furnish his space how he chooses. The only real restriction we impose is when one intrudes on another person's space or well being, though that goes for much more than just decorating.?

Ryna

Ryna inclined her head at the offer to be shown a room, in case she wished ever to stay. Ryna followed looking over the marvel of a house as they walked. As the question was posed Ryna looked back to Fiona. "It has not been long since I came here. I happened here by chance, or magic. Perhaps a month, but not much longer than that."

The second floor was reached and Ryna thought of home for a moment. She had not allowed her self to linger on it, she missed it still. Faervel. The towering trees, the houses that were built in to the wood. Her friends and what was left of her family. She had accepted Rhydin, but not given up on home either.

Looking in to the guest room Ryna was bathed again in a golden glow of the room. It was stunning, as a morning sunrise. Stepping in to the room Ryna smiled. Tones of gold and honey. Windows that washed in the light of day and would let the room be bathed in the light of day or the moons glow. It was a splendid room.

"Its is most impressive." Smiling she looked back to Fiona. There were more tones and textures here than Ryna had ever thought possible. Ryna nodded listing to Fiona as she described the sleeping arrangements. She had never had her own private bathroom till she came to Rhydin. "I could not see this room being more lovely." She was not one known for putting her own touches on a space. Though in the loft over the stable where she now stayed she had brought in flowers and this and that, but she tried to keep things under the standards of whom she was staying with.

"I would never intrude. It is not like me." She placed her hand softly on the mantle of the fire place. "It is greatly different from home, or any other room I have ever seen. I am deeply honored. I would like to stay, at least for tonight. Neona and I were racing the woods, and it will grow dark soon. I would rather be safe, than wander the woods at night." Though she had wandered the city and woods before at night, something told her she should stay. "I would be honored if you would allow me to spend the eve here."

"I think that sounds wonderful," Fiona smiled as she spoke. "I will make sure fresh towels and other supplies will be brought to this room for you. Make yourself at home. If you intend to stay up late, you might like to sit in on one of the last night classes at our academy. If you prefer to stay in, you can curl up with one of the books from the library. You are welcome to go out now or in the morning it you would like to explore more of the grounds and the houses." She just liked to give her options.

She continued thoughtfully, "Do not forget to settle in Neona for the night. I doubt there is a stock of hay in the pantry, but I believe we have carrots and apples to appease her. While you are in the kitchen downstairs, you are invited to select something for yourself to eat before bed. We keep a variety of fresh meats and produce on hand. You may prepare anything you like. We only ask that everyone clean up after themselves when they are finished."

She paused then and bit her tongue. All too often she had been affectionately accused of mothering. She knew Ryna didn't need to be reminded to check on her horse. She knew she didn't need to encourage her to eat. She knew she didn't have to persuade her to clean up after herself. Sometimes Fiona couldn't help herself. She just liked to care for people.

Fiona began taking a quick assessment of all the things that needed to be done. As the leader of Bristle Crios, Miranda would be alerted to the new guest. Fiona would tell her husband as well, since he helped to oversee the house she would be staying in for the night, Eternal House. Ryna would be included in the census Fiona kept track of amongst her many secretarial duties. On top of all that, Fiona would make sure that she or another member would check in with Ryna in the morning just to see if things went well during her stay.

Fiona asked simply, "Is there any other assistance you will need"?

Ryna

Date: 2014-07-29 14:28 EST
Ryna bowed her head softly. "Diola lle." She said then smiled, forgetting entirely that Fiona may not even speak elven Ryna blushed. "I thank you. I may just do that, see what a class is about, or wander about the house some. After I get Neona settled." Ryna would never forget her mare.

"I may do all those things." She let the soft chuckle come. She was curious about the manor, the grounds, the classes, and all else. The open invite to get something to eat reminded her that she had not eaten since dawn, nor had Neona been given her usual meal. The mare would be Ryna's first stop before she saw to herself. Though she may very well have forgotten to fetch herself something to eat, she was a tidy guest and would never leave any mess for anyone else to clean up.

"I shall go get Neona settled in before I decide what I may do or where I shall go a wandering." She smiled lightly. Looking back to Fiona, Ryna then realized she had likely kept her from some duties while giving such a warm and welcome tour. Looking back tot he room she shook her head softly. "Nay. But thank you. for showing me around, telling me of this wonderful place and allowing Neona and I to stay." Again in respect she bowed her head.

"I shall go Neona settled in for the night, then settle in myself." Perhaps with that book that was still tucked under her arm. Or perhaps by satisfying her curiosity and wandering about the house. But Neona would come first. The mare would need her nightly meal, ac over for the cool evening and a touch of Ryna's own mothering.

Fiona smiled at the thanks and said kindly, "It was my pleasure. I hope you enjoy your night. Stay as long as you wish. If you need anything, be sure to ask. Everyone is usually able to lend a hand, or at least point you in the right direction. Good night." With that, she nodded politely and left Ryna.

Fiona intended to bring up the fresh towels and other little snacks and supplies while Ryna was out caring for Neona. Hopefully by the time Ryna got back to her room, she would find extra towels and washcloths in the bathroom, a gift basket waiting on the nightstand, and a fruit basket with various fruits and wrapped candies on the dresser.

The gift basket of supplies for the night was stuffed full of many odds and ends. There were a vast array of different hand made soaps available to the Houses. Fiona selected earthy scents she hoped Ryna might enjoy. She provided two small one ounce bars of vegan soaps in the gift basket. The wood and clove soap contained natural essential oils of Amyris, Cedarwood, Clove, and Anise, providing a spicy woody blend. The citrus cedar sage soap was made with essential oils of Lemongrass, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, and a hint of Orange. Even though they were small bars, they provided a soothing scent for the entire room.

A variety of small blue colored bottles in the gift basket had their contents hand written on a textured paper tag secured with thin twine. One simply said "Shampoo" and contained shampoo mixed with a blend of carrot oil, rosemary oil, lavender oil, and tea tree oil, all known for their natural hair stimulating and enhancing qualities. In case Ryna would prefer not to bathe, there was a small bottle labeled "Dry Shampoo Powder", made of purified talc, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, and lavender oil. Another bottle read, "Hair Oil". It contained almond oil and evening primrose oil, with essential oils of Rosemary and Chamomile, also known for their hair healing properties. There were even bottles for "Lotion" and "Massage Oil". Each selection was just a sampling of the high quality and careful consideration that was always offered to Bristle Crios members and guests.

Once she felt like Ryna would be settled in with supplies, Fiona would get back to the task she had yet to finish ? arranging flowers for the rest of the common spaces in Eternal House.

?Quel du. Good night, and thank you again." Ryna bowed her head to Fiona. Then once she was alone she set that green backed book upon the bed. Looking around once more she smiled. It was quite the room.

She left the room to go tend to Neona. Following the way they had taken in out to her beloved mare, on her way she found her own way to the kichen. She took some apples and a few carrots, then found the stock of hay and took a bit of that. Then making sure no mess was left behind flowed outside. The sky was not yet dark, it was slowly turning to twilight , with colors of peach and purple that danced through the thin clouds. "There's a beauty." Ryna set her goodies down near by and gave Neona a rub down from head to flank.

"You seem happy enough." Ryna smiled and went to refilling the given water bucket then she fed Neona one of the apples with an open palm. "We are going to stay here tonight." Neona took the apple in whole and chewed those wise brown eyes watching. Ryna smirked. Neona wore no bit, only her bridal and reins with that smooth yet light leather saddle. There was cover enough from any rain, and grass close enough to where if Neona wanted she could pick at it. But Ryna set to setting some hay out and laying the other treats upon it.

Ryna took her brown leather bag from Neona's side as well as her hung bow and quiver. Then she took out Neona soft horse blanket. It was not too heavy nor to light. It would keep Neona warm if it should get cool and keep her cool if it choose to stay warm. Ryna shook it out and lay it over the mares fine neck. She loosed the saddle but did not remove it as she spread the dark blue blanket over the fine white mare.

With her bow and giver over one shoulder and her simple yet effective brown leather bag over the other she gave Neona mane a brush with her fingers. "It is far better here than the glen. I know you will miss your horse friends at Haley's but we shall return there." She looked back to the building as she rounded the mare and took up a carrot. " I expect you to behave. And eat your hay and treats in due measure."She gave Neona the carrot , the mare took it and crunched on it.

Ryna smiled and once Neona was done eating her two treats gave her a kiss on her nose. "I know your going to be the best girl ever, we are guests here." She saw Neona look to the manor then back and gave a whinny.

"That's a good girl. You rest, I will look in on you again."She gave her beloved mare another kiss then went back inside.

She found her own meal in the kitchen, sticking to something simple. Though she had rations within her bag she thought it only polite to have something to eat. Rather than taking the food choices with her she ate it there in the lovely kitchen, while she admired the fascinating room.

Ryna

Ryna finished her meal and dutifully cleaned up after herself. Once her plate and glass was clean and replaced where she had found them. She moved to go check on Neona one more time. She smiled when she saw the mare was well and fine. Having still her hay and treats to nibble on. Ryna knew the mare was comfortable. The eve would soon sink in to darkness. But while the light lingered Ryna took a moment to explore just beyond where Neona was tied off there under that covered patio.

The nearest garden was bathed in the glow of the setting sun. The flowers of the day were closed or closing, the butterflies and bees done for the day were gone. Soon the night blooming plants would open and the baths and moths would come to the fragrance.

Ryna wanted to wander the garden now. But she could wait. Looking back tot he manor she marveled again at its beauty. Closing her eyes for a moment she took in the last scent of the day. The scent of the near by gardens, of the grass. That dim scent of hay. The wind blew through her hair and when she opened her eyes the sun was gone below the horizon and the world was bathed in the lovely beginnings of night.

She heard dim voices and recalled that Fiona had said something about classes being held at night. While the idea of peaking in on such a class at the school was something Ryna had given thought to. She did not want to bother anyone. Yet still she let her self wander tot he edge of the house and look out over the expanse of the grounds. There walked a trio of people heading off for the school, the academy as it had been called.

Ryna watched them go and leaned to the solid wall of the Eternal House beside her. Perhaps in the days to come if she remained here she would be less shy and wander more. For now she turned and headed back for the doors that would lead her within.

She bid good night to Neona before going within, making sure the mare was well settled for the night.

Ryna found her way back to the gilded guest room. And saw that Fioa had left her some parting gifts. A basket lay on the night stand where there had not been one before as well as another basket on the dresser with fruits and brightly wrapped candies. Ryna smiled and set her leather bag, quiver and bow on the bed beside the green bound book she had borrowed.

The basket upon the nightstand drew her first. Sitting on the bed she pulled the basket to sit beside her. Pulling out the items slowly. There were soaps within. As she pulled the first a bar out she held it to her nose. The scent of Cedar,Clove a spicy blend that made her think of rich thick nights at home. She set that bar aside and took out the other. Sniffing it it made her think of mornings, with the scent of orange hinted with more cedar and the scent of sage. They were lovely soaps and surely hand made.

Ryna wondered if such small bars of soap had provided the lovely scent that seemed to waft within the room. Looking back tot he basket she saw many small blue bottles, each had a label upon them, as Ryna had become a custom to here in Rhydin. She took out one at random. That one read "Hair Oil." Being curious Ryna plucked the cap off and took another sniff. It smelt of evening roses and rosemary as well as another scent she couldn't put her finger on.

Replacing the cap she looked tot eh others and knew they would have each been picked just for her. Smiling she replaced the soaps and bottle back in the basket. She would likely be curious enough to try them all.

She gave the bed a little bounce. Then rose, she would store her things away properly then settle in herself. She past the basket on the dresser and smiled tot he assortment of fruits that had been left. Plucking one of the brightly wrapped candies out she looked at it. Oh Haley had told her about much to Rhydin, and even let her sample a rich thing called chocolate. But this, all of this was beyond anything the elf had ever seen.

Unwrapping the candy she looked at it. It was smooth and round the color was a rich caramel color. When she put it in her mouth she rolled it around and found the flavor to be sweet and pleasant, tough she had no name for it.

With her bag on the top of the dresser, her bow and quiver beside it she looked back to the other basket of goodies then off towards that adjoined room where she could wash up. As long as she was here she figured she would enjoy her stay. So tot he bed again she went to slip of her boots before padding to the basket and lifting it up and taking it with her. She found the adjoining bathroom was nice and had been stocked as well.

Smiling she closed the door and would deiced just how to settle in.

Ryna

The warmth of he sun awoke her. As it gleamed through the windows, Ryna woke and looked about the room. Gilded tones greeted her. As well as the soothing scent that had sent her to sleep.

She rose out of the bed and crossed towards the windows. pulling back the soft pale pink shades she could see the view of the estate beyond. Her first thought was of how wonderful it had been to spend the night there. The next was of Neona. Padding to the bath room she washed up and brushed out her hair. Then once she was changed she made her way out of the room. Her usual custom would have been to carry her things with her, but she found herself secure enough to leave her bag,bow and quiver in the room.

The house seemed quiet, yet it was early. The day was still new.

She found her way to Neona the same as she had the eve before and found the horse was still covered, and had fresh hay and water. Someone had been there, left the mare the hay and water after Ryna had returned the eve before. Neona slept soundly still. So whom ever it had been had either been very quiet or Neona had trusted them enough to allow them to give her hay and water.

Ryna smiled lightly, thinking that this place was indeed a true sanctuary for her and Neona. So far Ryna had not really known Rhydin to be a place of small miracles. Haley and her father Mr. Greg had been so kind to them both to allow them to stay there above the stables, to allow Neona to stay within those stables. Ryna had a job with those horses they bred. And now, this. Staying here finding this wonderful place as she had. As if she had been drawn here.

Turning back to the house Ryna crossed back inside and set off for the kitchen. Perhaps someone was an early riser as she was. Perhaps the day was truly just beginning.

Walking through the court yards of Vampire house, humming a tune to herself, Dressed in a black pencil skirt, and a red silk blouse, her long blood red hair was hanging down her back, while she carried a large flat art bag, a brief case and a few files in one arm, while the free hand held up a black umbrella, she didn't need it, since she knew how to protect herself from the sunlight, but, it made the students she cared for feel more at ease.

As she walked she took a deep breath, catching two new scents in the air, frowning a little, stopping in her tracks and looking around, then eyes settling on Vampire house then at the other houses, tilting her head, Making her way towards the School and her office, the nagging feeling in her mind, there was a new comer to the Coven.

Looking around the court yard, singing to herself gently, a tune she sang to her daughters when they weren't at ease, the gentle, relaxed feeling flowing from her into the air all around herself, smiling as she did.

Ryna

Ryna found she was alone. But that did not bother her. She ate and cleaned up after herself. Then, went to check on Neona again. Like a worried mother. The mare was awake and eating happily. Ryna smirked and left her beloved mare to her morning treats. The sun was warm and welcoming. It called her out.

So with slow and tentative steps the elfess made her way around the side of the house. She knew there were gardens to see, as well as other houses that stood upon the estate. There was also a school.

There was the soft scent of grass and opening flowers in the air. The sun was slowly making its way up, casting long shadows. Walking out in tot he main courtyard where Fiona had greeted her the day before. Ryna stood looking at the impressive houses again. They were more like manors to her. Mighty and vast. She wondered if all were as quiet as the Eternal House.

Surely there had to be someone about. Perhaps the school would hold new faces. Ryna recalled Fiona's directions from the ev before and started off towards the Academy As she walked she took in the grounds.

Though the idea of a formal place to learn was a newer concept to Ryna. She understood it. Rhydin was not the woods of Faervel. Thinking of home again, Ryna cast her eyes towards the forest that surrounded and seemed to protect the estate.

A warm morning breeze came in and taking a deep breath Ryna let the homesick feeling leave her. There was more than just the scent of the woods on the wind there was a sound, someone was singing.

Perhaps someone was about after all. Quirking her pace she saw someone. Someone who carried a manner of shade above their head. It was a woman Ryna could see for the figure wore a black skirt and had long flowing dark hair. She also seemed to be carrying a few other things with her, on her way towards the school building.

It was that figure, with her back to Ryna who sang. Perhaps a student, or a teacher? Or maybe another person who stayed at one of the many houses. There was only one way to find out Ryna, continued on, she had been on her way to the school in the first place, so it wasn't like she was following the figure many paces ahead of her. And yet she was, following.

Stopping in her tracks as a new sensation reached her, looking over her shoulder, before her body turned to face the one behind her, smiling, wary of course of the fangs.

Tilting her head "hello, your the new comer I sensed around the campus" Facing her fully "Welcome to Bristle Crios, I'Am Mai Silverblood - Chazore" Bowing her head to the woman

Ryna

Ryna stopped as well. Bowing her head like wise as the woman introduced herself. Ryna got a better view of the woman, Mai Silverblood-Chazore. She wore a black skirt, that fit her about the legs. Her shirt was the tone of rich ruby red, her hair was more blood red. She carried a large flat bag in one hand, and another manner of carrying case there as well. Her other hand held that black shade above her head. "Well met, Mai Silverblood-Chazore. Yes, you are correct, I am new to the estate."

Still mid bow, " I am Rynallae Tira'allara. But you may call me Ryna." Rising from her bow Ryna pushed back her raven hair, behind those elven ears. " I did not mean to follow you so. I heard your singing, and saw you walking towards the school. I had not yet seen anyone about, this early morning. Lady Fiona said I was welcome to explore the grounds. And while Neona enjoys her breakfast, I figured I would see that the school I heard of was about."

Ryna was curious about the items Mai held, the flat black bag as well as the other harder looking case, then there was that strange thing she used for shade. Ryna had seen them, in books, and once one night in Rhydin while it had been raining, they were marvels of Rhydin.

Smiling at her "Im the guidance councellor here" Looking at the buidling "I take care of the students and sometimes the teachers, My husband is also a teacher here, and my daughters also attend here" Looking at her "you were called here, it calls all its students and teachers here"

smiling "it is a wonderous school, it brings together all manner of creatures and people" Her eyes looking over the building, then at Ryna, tilting her head moving off towards the School

Ryna followed along side Mai, towards the school building. "A guidance councilor." Ryna echoed the wording Mai used, she had no idea what that meant. But then Mai explained and Ryna understood more.

"Yes, I believe you are right I was called here." The school came closer and once they were there Ryna held open any doors that needed to be held open for Mai held so many things within her arms.

"It is indeed a wondrous place." Said as they went through the doors.

Smiling, chuckling a little, tilting her head "yes, it is, for there are Mages, Eternals, Vampires, werewolves" looking at her "I feel like everyone here is family" Bowing her head, in thanks passing through the doors.

Opening, the large oak door to her office, revealing, Clothing designs on the walls, family portraits, a few of her own drawings and some of the students. "Please come in, I dont bite"

Walking to her desk placing everything where it belonged, looking at her, tilting her head "you truly were called here" Chuckling "I to was called here, as was my husband, we met one of our children here and adopted her, our other daughter also attends here" Looking towards the window, smiling gently, then back to her "time to begin"

Closing her eyes and opening her hands, focusing on only releasing relaxing feelings and happy ones into the school and the school grounds, opening her eyes slowly "now that feels better, Doesn't it?"

Ryna

Ryna followed ever curious. In to the room Mai stepped in to. There on the walls where drawings, designs for clothing, and pictures of a lovely looking family, as well as other drawings. Ryna was no artist, but she enjoyed how they made the space feel, as if it were more than just a place to work, which by the looks of it is was. With its desk, and chair. She had seen places likewise within the city.

Ryna cast her gaze tot he window and back when Mai sated that she had met her husband here, as well as the fact that a daughter of hers attended the school. Family. Ryna smiled dimly, how she missed her own.

Then there was a moment, a moment where everything felt very relaxed, at ease and comfort. The little nerves that had fluttered her seemed to settle. "That was.."A blink and a shake of her head. Looking back to the drawings. "Do you teach some form of art?" Looking to the sketches. Those nerves were gone, and Ryna felt at ease within the office.

Smiling "no, those are designs, I make clothing" Tilting her head "I am a councillor for the students and sometimes the teachers, its a perfect job for me since I m an empath, so I create the feelings I need to clam the ones I listen to"

Offering her a seat by a hearth, that was banked low "please take a seat, would you like a drink?" Moving to a small cooler, filled with blood bags in a compartment, and juice and water for the non blood drinkers, removing a pack, giving Ryna a hint of her nature "I should also point out, I m a Vampire and head of vampire house, but, I do not touch nor do I attack humans......or elves" smiling at her

Ryna

Date: 2014-12-09 23:02 EST
"Oh." Ryna studied the drawings more closely. They were lovely. Though Ryna herself knew little of making clothing, least of all clothing like that, simple attire was her main state. "An empath?" The word meant nothing to Ryna, for she had never heard of an empath before. " So you aid students and teachers." A slow nod, that Ryna could understand.

Ryna nodded and took up a seat there where it had been offered. "Oh water will suit me fine." Ryna took a moment to look at the bag of blood then at Mai. She had heard of vampires, seen a few so far in town from afar, but what she knew about them was mostly from books and from Haley's telling's of the creatures.

"Well that soothes me."Ryna took a breath, happy to know that Mai didn't drink from humans or elves. A smile.

"I do not know much of vampires, or empaths, there are no such things in my home land. I have only truly begun to understand Rhydin. I was given aide and shelter, and a job at a stable in town. Then Neona and I came upon this compound and was greeted by Ms. Knightfall. Who welcomed me to stay, should I like."

Mai Silverblood

Smiling "Im a rare one, I cant let my fangs sink into human skin, it makes me feel sick" Thinking "as for an empath, I can sense and manipulate emotions, so, its useful for my positions in my office, shop and Vampire house, it keeps the new borns in a relaxed state"

Making her way to a small fridge taking out a nice ice cold bottle of pure water, fetching a glass on her way back to Rayna, "here you go" placing the glass and bottle of water on a small table beside her.

Chukling "as I thought, you were meant to find this place, it calls to people, how to explain it...........ah, like a magical pull" Chuckling "Im bad at describing it.........for me, it was like, there was something missing, that I needed to find, and I did, I found another place to belong, I found new friends, and met one of my daughters here"

Smiling "ahhhh, so its your steed next to my night mares" Chuckling "they will get along well"

Smiling even more gently hearing Fionas name "ahhhh, yes, she is a lovely woman, strong yet fierce when needed, but a caring soul and very very wise" Nodding, as she sipped her drink

"allow me to also extend the sentiment she also offered, you are more welcome to stay, since not everyone can find this place, you were meant to find us here, this is a place of magic, of belonging and of course, meeting and discovery as well as learning" Smiling gently at her "you may even meet my daughters and husband on your walk around the campus" Chuckling

Ryna took the bottle of water, with a soft thanks ,opened it and poured the clear water in to the glass that had been provided. Nodding along as Mai spoke. Leaning a bit more as she did. "I believe you are right, and yes I understand what you mean by magical pull. Though I only know of magic in slight ways." She had her own 'magic' but had seen much in the way of wonderful and terrifying things since coming to Rhydin.

"Neona." At the mares name she smiled. "Yes she has taken up residence. She makes friends far easier than I do. She is not fearful. I am lucky to have her with me. I am not sure I would do well here alone. Ms Knightfall was very kind to me, showed me around the house I am staying at." Which was the Eternal House. " She let me borrow a book and gave me baskets of wonderful things in the guest room. She is very kind and seems very wise. "

A cant of her head was given, "Thank you." She took a sip of the water. "I do intend to stay a bit. Though I did find lodging and work within the city. Or was lucky enough to. I feel as if I may be of some use here some how. " A soft smile was given. "I have yet to meet anyone about the grounds yet, but I have not been curious enough to wander about much. But perhaps I shall. Meet them."

Smiling, looking up "the amount of magic around here doesnt affect the pull, you can have little to no magic, or high wizard to a god like power, the people are pulled here because of a gift they have" Resting her cheek on her fist, looking at her.

"yeah my night mares are usually unsettling to be around, so your mare is very very helpful" Smiling hearing Fionas name "yes, she is one very very wise woman, and, if you need it, the one to guide you to why you were chosen by the coven"

Getting up and walking to the windows, then looking back at her "you can leave and return here when you want to, there is no rules or limits about that to stop you, Once your here, the magic will guide you back, this is a home for you now aswell"

Ryna watched Mai. The woman seemed so much more at home here, not only at the complex but in Rhydin. Ryna hoped that one day she felt that way. Perhaps it was her years here or the years she must have lives thus far that made Ryna think Mai very wise. Vampires, as Ryna knew were immortal creatures, much like elves and others. They could live for thousands of years.

"Neona enjoys the company of other horses. She has a soothing effect on many." Ryna smiled thinking of how Neona could sooth her. "Ms. Knightfall did seem very wise. And oh so kind to welcome a stranger within these walls." And so young looking too, but wisdom came with more than just age.

"I plan to stay, for a few days, get to know this place." The estate as well as many people as she could. "I hope it will feel like home to me. I have felt welcomed, that much is sure. But I do miss home, and do not understand yet why I was brought or sent here." Faervel was fresh in her mind, most nights she still dreamed about it.

Chuckling "Dear, in all the time I have been here, I have yet to find why I feel at home here also" Thinking "many of the students here, ask me the same thing, Why is it I feel so at home here" why can I be myself here?"

Shrugging and thinking "my only answer, and the only thing I can say to you is, it's because your meant to be here, your part of this place, and it will in time become part of you? Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath "for me, I can be a true Vampire, I can teach my kin to accept who and what they are, like Art can help young mage's understand their powers" Smiling "your here because, your meant to be.........how to put it better?" Getting up and walking to her desk, then looking out the window.

Chuckling "I understand now" Looking at her "your part of this coven, your part of a family, this is where you are meant to be? Smiling "Fiona, Arthour, Ammy, you......everyone, we are all connected.......by this place, by the coven.....darkness knows, even by each other, magic calls to magic, kin calls to kin, its all here, it calls like a sirens song to the ones it needs to be part of the fabric.....that's the only way I can put it"

Ryna smiled. Mai seemed to have such an understanding of things. Perhaps it was that Rhydin was her home, or had become that way. As Mai continued to talk Ryna smiled and felt her cheeks redden with blush. She had not felt so openly welcomed any where in sometime. Rhydin had been odd, dangerous and mysterious to her. And though she had made friends, Ryna still had not felt apart of anything.

"Thank you, for saying that. I do hope that it is true, that I do belong here." Ryna rose slowly, she had barely touched her offered water. "Thank you for showing me around a bit, and for taking the time to speak with me. I am sure you have duties to perform. And I thought I might wander a bit more. I am sure we shall speak again, and perhaps with time I shall come to think of Rhydin and of this place as home. Perhaps even take up a class. " Though Ryna had no clue what a class might entail.

Ryna looked once more about he room before walking to the doorway. "Your students are lucky to have you as their teacher. I am glad we ran in to one another." Ryna bowed her head low in a sign of respect. " *Tenna' telwan, quel andune."

Though Ryna was sure Mai didn't speak elven it was her own custom to part with a respectful word or two. She parted the office then and went to wander within the building and outside once more.

"*Until later, good afternoon"
