Those of you who have visited my folder, Embers in the Dark in the Rhydin Town Center, may have taken the time to read the OOC Creations thread. In this place I post poems, parodies, and songs that come from the player and have nothing to do with the character. I have visited other folders and seen some word games, and story games, there is even a haiku thread out there. I would like to try and keep that tradition going but put my own spin on it that combines word games and poetry. Directions: The objective of each post is to complete the previous post's last line. Create a rhyming couplet, and begin the first half of the next couplet for the following person to complete in his or her post. Details: Every four lines complete the stanza. Complete as many lines as you like, making sure to leave at least one line at the end unrhymed so the person after you can have a challenge. PG 13 only. No mature themes, please. I wanted to be the first to kick this off.

Suspended above a sea of unrest.

He'd travelled far but never had he seen its kind.

Knowing that it was his fate he met the beast at seaside gate.

He prayed seeing the beasts massive state. A simple sword and shield t'was all on him.

The painful beating of his heart could not his spirit dim.

"Forward!" Cried a mighty voice and sword did move to hew.

Strike by strike and blow by blow, the horrendous creature grew.

Towering above him in height and strength and speed?

His trepidation grew but he could not fail in this deed.

The colossal beast before him must be slain...

The battle waged on with a crack of rain. Who would win, beast or man?

Weep; for all who could not stand

Ran like sheep before the flood...

From sharpest sword did drip beasts blood. In armor all ablaze, the Knight stood over fallen foe.

Ended was its reign of terror and woe. His sword he did sheath, and away moved his stride.

Off he galloped for his imprisoned bride. Deep within a fortress she was locked.

He tries to hide blood that drips from his glove

Braving those wounds that he has taken.

(since interest has waned I will throw a final few lines out and end this.)

His devotion to her could not be shaken The knight knelt before the crown. And gave her a freedom she had never known.
