Wyheree

Wyheree sat on the bed in the stateroom, making herself ready for her wedding. Jal had stopped by to help wrap the undergown, insuring the fit was perfect. The silver threads glittered and sparkled in the lamplight as Wyh brushed out her pale hair. The sheer silver overgown lay draped over a chair, the sapphires also catching the light. The exquisite gown brought tears to her eyes as she carefully slipped into it - her friend showered her with kindness and generosity, and the gown and matching sandals were simply perfect.

She had crafted her veil out of her own ice. Shimmering snowflakes appeared to dance all down her hair, just brushing her shoulders. She carefully placed her silver and sapphire tiara atop the veil, softly smiling as she set the ancient crown in place.

The bouquet and flower crown laying on the bed featured roses also fashioned from her ice, together with white roses and pale blue forget-me-nots. A cascade of the ice and white roses would fall to her knees when she carried the bouquet. The flower crown, woven of all the same flowers as in the bouquet, was for Icer, her friend, her sister, and her matron of honor.

The aroma of fine food wafted through the stateroom. Rosie and Frypan had hit it off well, and they were in the galley readying the reception feast. It all smelled divine, but Wyh had been far too nervous to eat.

As the hour drew even closer, Wyh fussed over her dress and veil, humming the sweet song James sang to her when he taught her to dance. This night, she would indeed be his bride, and the happiest woman in all the realms.
