Wyheree

The morning found Wyheree again in the Red Dragon Inn, a glass of orange juice in her hand, her silver eyes watching the Dark woman Sakura spoke of speak with a friend of Brian's she did not know. She sighed as she remembered her conversation with Brian - one about wolves and sheep, and if the sheep choose to be so, then that was their choice. Wyheree knew this - but what of the wolves who would harm the sheep without care or consent' What of gentle Sakura, who would be helpless against that Darkness should she strike again? Wyheree was all too familiar with the geisha's desires, having observed at the Inn. But Sakura had been so upset over what was done, she felt it necessary to take action.

A lull in the pair's conversation gave Wyheree the opportunity to ask to speak with the Dark woman. When the woman consented, she asked her to not hunt Sakura any longer. At this, the other woman responded with teasing pet names and unanswerable questions, culminating in her daring to stroke her finger down Wyheree's cheek. Then, the situation intensified.

Calling her "girl", the Dark woman asked if Wyheree would punish her. The response was a biting slap of ice across her face, drawing blood - for Wyheree was not anyone's girl, and she was not one to be intimidated by this hunter. The Dark woman stepped forward, testing, teasing, and earned a sharper burst of icy shards in return. "Leave Sakura alone", she repeated as she took a step forward into the other woman, eyes glittering cold silver in anger.

The woman revealed that her interest in Sakura was purely a means to gain information on others - and that further increased Wyheree's hatred of the Dark woman. That, and her offer to Wyheree to bring hedonism to her bed, calling her "mistress". A whip of icy wind sharp as knives drew more blood - Wyheree had little use for the offer, and wished to bring the conversation back to the original intent - to leave Sakura alone. The Dark woman tried other wiles - suggesting a trade - Wyheree for Sakura, calling her "pet" in the offering. Another smack of blizzard winds, as Wyheree had had quite enough of the little names - she was a lady, and would be addressed as such. A threat was given instead - leave Sakura alone, or the Dark woman's healing abilities would be put to the test.

The last smack of ice seemed to change something in the Dark woman. She spoke of Wyheree doing well in the arenas she frequented, and made offers to teach her - Wyheree's icy shards excited the Dark women in a way not to Wyheree's liking. She blasted the woman with a bolt of ice, knocking her back to the couch, anger growing every moment. But, Wyheree was not so easily distracted. "Leave Sakura alone", she repeated, silver eyes glowing with rage.

More teasing, more vagueness, and the final straw was reached - the Dark woman dared to invite Wyheree to sit with her, to convince her why she should turn her attention from Sakura. At those words, Wyheree's eyes glowed brighter, and the couch upon which the Dark woman sat froze, trapping the other woman. Squeezing the icy embrace tighter, Wyheree coldly informed the woman that she made no bargains nor did she play games. Somewhere in the distance, Wyheree heard a familiar voice, but her attention was completely upon the Dark woman frozen before her. Then the other woman looked up, and drove a mental command deep in Wyheree's mind - one to release. The ice softened for a moment, and Wyheree let it go, for her point was made. This Dark hunter would leave her friend alone, and if she decided to hunt Wyheree, then so be it - for she was more the wolf than most anyone knew.
