Taking in to consideration King's request for privacy, Warren came in early to the Star's End that afternoon and scrubbed down the tables and floor near to the jukebox and erected a small curtained enclosure around one of the tables. Larger than the table, the portable canopy came to a high point and awarded the persons inside as much privacy as they could wish for. Warren left the diaphanous cream colored curtains tied back on one side (facing the bar) and draped twinkle lights around the edges. He even went as far as furnishing a crisp table linen, matching seat covers, and cloth napkins. He constructed a low centerpiece of flowering vines around two covered fairy lights, the vines spilling over the sides of the table. On each place setting there was a memento for the evening, a small decorative burlap bag of strawberry seed tied with a pale pink ribbon.
