The image on the screen displayed the assault as it happened on the Harken compound in Istanbul, Turkey. Two people, one woman and one man, parachuted into the compound and managed to wipe out every single guard in a matter of seconds.

"They work so well together as a team," he muttered as he manipulated the camera view to zoom in on the two people. "Who are they' MI-6" CIA" Mossad?"

The image on the screen zoomed in on the male. He looked to be in his thirties, very athletic and looked as if he was born and bred to be a soldier. Short black hair, a 5 o-clock shadow, sharp brown eyes and other middle-eastern features made him look like he was part of the Israeli special forces.

"We checked, my lord, we couldn't find anyone matching him on their rosters," a voice called out from behind him. "The woman was definitely involved with Ambassador McCrae's personal security detail though."

They watched as the screen flickered and changed to follow the footage of the woman involved in the assault. Blonde haired, blue eyes and fair skinned. The way she moved on screen made it clear that she was a highly trained operative. In less than a minute from her hitting the ground, she disabled three guards without needing to use her own weapon. The woman disappeared into the compound with her partner and the footage fast forwarded for a moment.

"That's not exactly what I would expect from someone who is just a member of a personal security detail," he watched the screen as the playback went back to normal speed.

There was a ship that appeared out of nowhere and just hovered above the compound's flat-top roof. Seconds later a group of five people exited a doorway and ran up a ramp that led to the ship. The view zoomed in to focus on the faces of the five people. One was Ambassador McCrae, the other was Orianna Leigh, the unknown blonde and her male partner. Hoisted over the unknown man's shoulder was the one he really wanted. Seraphim McCrae.

"I paid the Harken family a small fortune," he found himself clenching his fists as he watched his prize be loaded up onto the ship and whisked away. "They failed to deliver and are lucky that these two clowns killed them before I had my chance to."

"My lord, we were able to identify that ship," came the voice again from behind Duke Leandro.

The Duke did not turn in his chair to face his lackey. Instead he studied what he could see of the ship. It's sleek curves, the red hues it had around its hull. The way that the hull seemed to pulsate as if the ship were a fusion of mechanical and organic technologies intrigued him. "So which group am I going to target?"

"My lord, that ship is registered to a company in the nexus world, Rhydin. She's called the Firestar and she's owned by Du"Masseuir Technologies."

The Duke just nodded as he took in that bit of information so he knew who to add to his kill list. "Get my ship ready.?

His journey was an uneventful one." Most of the trip he spent reviewing the recordings of the raid on the Harken compound, studying every possible detail that he could about the two people who had stolen his prize."

His aid had told him that the woman was part of Ambassador McCrae's personal security detail." After searching through hours of footage and hundreds of reconnaissance photos he was able to find that she was indeed attached to the ambassador but none of his informants could tell him anything more than she was a private security contractor." A private security contractor with apparently very deep pockets to afford the equipment that these two had used during their raid."

The man that was with her, he was the one that was still a mystery." Mossad, CIA, MI6, FSB, ASIS; neither of them could find any indicator as to who the man was." Not that this bothered the Duke, after all was said and done, Murat Leandro enjoyed the hunt as much as he enjoyed the kill." Something about it made him feel more alive." Some people liked to be creative and do things like woodwork, paint and sculpt things with their hands; the Duke likened himself to those artists and the tattoos he had on his body were a sign of his handiwork.

Upon his arrival he was greeted by one of the automated guides that went through the usual routine asking if he needed any information regarding the space port. "Show me this place," he ordered and was shown a map of the city.

He listened carefully as the guide told him about all of the major spots around Rhy'din City, starting with the Red Dragon Inn. By the time the guide had finished, Murat had a good idea as to where he should go and what to look out for. "Everyone goes to the Red Dragon Inn," he stated with a smirk as he wrote down the name of the famous inn on a matchbook.

"...

When he arrived at the inn he couldn't help but stare at the building. It certainly did seem to be the prominent building in the surrounding area but the reputation he had heard of made the facade appear to be a let down. The sign however clearly read the Red Dragon Inn. He let out a smirk and pulled a cigarette out and brought it to his lips. A moment later he had it lit with one of the matches and was pulling his first drag. A glance at the matchbook and then back at the sign outside of the building confirmed it. "Red Dragon Inn....this is the place." He muttered and looked in through the windows as best as he could to see the people that were inside.

It didn't take him long to see Seraphim McCrae and her rescuer there. Seemingly alone with each other at the bar. "All too easy," he muttered and made his way inside of the inn to watch them.

"

From his booth he was able to see the two of them interact. He tried his best to listen in to see if he could garner the man's name. It was obvious after a few minutes of observation that the two of them were together. The way they looked at each other, the way she held onto his every movement. Murat's face grew into a twisted smile. The hunt for him had become suddenly a lot more interesting. Not wanting to waste an opportunity, he moved himself to the bar and stood beside the man and pretended to browse the liquor rack behind the bar.

To the surprise of the Duke, he heard the man propose marriage to the ambassador's daughter.

"That's a nice ring you got her there," he interrupted the two and gave Seraphim's new fiance a sudden pat on the back. "A very nice ring indeed," he looked over the man's shoulder to see the ring again and then looked over to Seraphim. "Beautiful ring for a beautiful woman...Miss?" His voice lifted at the end as if he were asking for her name.

His smile stayed on his face as the woman froze up and began to stammer while he had her fiance's attention. The man had an annoying smile that Duke Leandro wanted to swipe right off of his face. The man gave the Duke his thanks on the congratulations and guided his visibly shaken fiance from the bar, making a suddenly hasty retreat from the inn.

Duke Leandro couldn't help but watch with a twisted smile as the two left. "Enjoy it while you can boy-o," he took a final drag from his cigarette and discarded it on the floor of the inn. "Enjoy it while you can."

Tessadora smiled and laid the missive on her desk. Only one sentence was typed:

Rook to take queen.

Palms pressed lightly against the edge of the mahogany executive desk as she stood and addressed her assistant, "Make arrangements for my departure to Rhy"Din."

The pony-tailed assistant's perfectly manicured fingers flew quickly of the tablet in the crook of her arm. "Ma"am, there is a transport leaving tomorrow at-"

"No." Her words, though sharp and to the point, held very little urgency despite her desire to get to get to Rhy"Din immediately. "Tonight."

"Yes, ma"am." There was a brief silence before the assistant spoke again. "You will be on the transport leaving in two hours. I will see that your belongings arrive in Rhy"Din before you do." On a swift heel the assistant turned and closed the large ornate double doors behind her.

Finally, things were coming together. Leandro threatened to personally kill her when Seraphim McCrae had been rescued. But it all worked out just as she had explained it would. Seraphim's rescue flushed out her protectors. And to Tessa's amusing surprise it happened to be the Du"Masseuirs, along with their associates.

And now that Leandro made his move to Rhy"Din it was time for her to join him. Once Seraphim understood just how gravely her presence put everyone's life at stake, even her own, Tessa was certain of her abilities to convince the woman to leave"again.

And her plans could then be put into motion. Leandro would have his woman and Tessa would have what she needed to bring nations together. Not mention the bonus of a long overdue revenge on Blake Du"Masseuir.

Tessa's eyes fell to the framed picture on her desk of a beautiful woman. The two shared much of their appearance in common; same dark chocolate hair, hypnotizing hazel green eyes, and a soft unarming smile. "Your time is nigh, Sophia.?

"This town is just too easy to manipulate," he muttered as he walked away from the spaceport authority office with a sealed envelope. Fedora dipped low on his head and cigarette in hand, the Duke moved through the corridors of the spaceport with little to no pause. Once away from the view of others he opened the envelope pulled out a folded piece of paper that was within.

Printed on the sheet of paper was an address and a name.

Du'Masseuir Technologies Blake Anthony Du'Masseuir CEO 444 W. Pine St. 4th Floor Rhydin City, Rhydin 01653

"Blake Anthony Du'Masseuir," he read the name quietly and folded the paper up before putting it back in the envelope and stuffing that into his pocket. He thought back to a conversation that he had with Tessadora before. She had wanted to get back to someone with that name. "Maybe it's time that I pay this, Mr. Du'Masseuir a visit." He took a long drag from his cigarette and exhaled slowly, letting the plume of smoke dissipate around him.

He glanced over to one of the local communication terminals in the spaceport. "Might as well," he moved over to the machine and tossed his cigarette to the side and accessed the computer.

"To Tessa:

Bishop to Queen: Check.

Red Dragon Inn.

-'El Duche' "

"And....sent.." he muttered to the screen just before the logo of the Stars End Spaceport Authority logo came up followed by the automated voice that thanked him for using one of their communication terminals. "Automated piece of crap," he replied in a gruff tone as he turned his shoulder and walked away. His destination' The Red Dragon...
