The Museum of Culture and Anthropology is pleased to place on display:
THE AMULET OF KAVAGOR
Ancient talisman forged in the dark kingdom of Voth' Kerris, by the dark sorcerer Nakyan Kavagor. This particular vindictive mage dedicated the entirety of his life to the dark arts of necromancy and in the elements of spellcraft which could be distinctively manipulated to cause harm to others.
According to several accurate references, it was this infamous necromancer who by all accounts directly aided the Temple of Bhaal in its bloody crusades against the matriarchal holy sect of justice known as the Order of the Scathachians.
As the myth is told, the "cursed" amulet literally "keeps whole its possessor who is of a dark mind". In translation, this would suggest that the jewel fastidiously protects its master or mistress and guards them against the loss of any of their limbs and/or appendages. In addition, some defended sources further maintain that the relic would firmly restore body parts which were previously lost in battle and it would entirely protect the owner?s mind from any form of ?mental? strike or probing. As would be expected with the grim reputation of such a diabolical piece, it is claimed that the mythical amethyst gem at its core naturally requires the frequent sacrifice of fresh blood in order to maintain its uncanny gifts.
As it is written, the relic was fashioned shortly before Kavagor's violent death at the gory Battle of Delan. Allegedly, the maniacal wizard arranged for this ominous artifact to be dispatched back to the Archbishop of the black Temple who was rallying the immoral ones for war in the core of Voth'Kerris. With such an item in his grasp, the malevolent warlord would have been able to crush his approaching enemies who fought for justice and noble balance.
Thankfully, Kavagor's secrete convoy was swiftly intercepted and destroyed by the noble Scathachian warriors, and the relic in question never reached the Archbishop's charge. In fact, after the clever sabotage by the Daughters of Scathach, all written knowledge of the relic fell into relative obscurity for at least two centuries before the purportedly cursed piece resurfaced, and was generously donated to this museum by a wealthy philanthropist and collector of fine treasures.
Here sits the famed Amulet of Kavagor. Superbly forged well over two centuries ago; suspended on a 20 inch chain forged of the finest gold and platinum. The circular amulet it displays is solid gold and possesses a large and brilliant amethyst at its core, flanked by what appears to be several holy inscriptions and crafted runes. This amulet was supposedly ordained by the enigmatic, if ruthless, Temple of Bhaal and remains as much of a mystery today as it did when originally fashioned.
