Tristan was loading up a cord of wood outside the bakery, when he was finished, Mrs. Biderman brought him out a glass of ice tea. Tristan caught his breath while looking out over the town. He smiled watching a group of crew members ushering along a cart with supplies. He looked towards the yards, somewhere behind that newly reconstructed wall, was Aja.

He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed her number. "Did you get it?" she answered sounding a little out of breath. "Nah," he grinned into the phone looking towards the yards while he spoke. "Stinky ran the getaway car over some spikes and the fuzz caught up with us." "Ah, so I gotta come bail you out of jail?" she asked sounding amused. "We bribed the Watch." "Good call." He could practically hear the smile she had to be sporting during this conversation. "So. Mrs. Biderman is all happy?" "She's got wood." "Dirty." Aja snickered making him laugh. "So what do you want my darling husband?" "I was just thinking, that behind that wall over there is a beautiful woman that I someday hope to spend time with." "Really?" she said lightly. "And what?s her name?" "I can't remember actually." he leaned against the fence with a broad grin. "I was pretty drunk, picked her up at a bar." "Ah, she's yer soul mate then?" he grinned broadly at the question. "Yes. We're going to have twelve kids." "And a dog?" she asked chuckling. "Couple of cats." "Don't forget the turtles." "No." he laughed. "So, I was talking earlier with Mr. Kinderson." "Mr. Kinderson, the owner of that cute little Italian restaurant?" Aja asked and he heard something bang in the background. "That's the one." "And what did you and Mr. Kinderson talk about?" "About bringing that beautiful woman to a romantic dinner." He smiled.

"Oh yeah?" Aja smiled while taking a clipboard from a crewman and signing her name to it after looking it over, then handing it back. "When were you thinking about doing this?" "Soon, I hope." Tristan said with a smile in his voice. "This evening perhaps. Tomorrow night if tonight is too soon." "Well, if we were to go this evening, I'd have to quit for the day and go home." "Home" You remember where that is?" "Funny boy wants to dine alone?" Aja grinned as she said it. "No. Of course not." "I'll put Harlan in charge and go home to clean up." Aja checked her watch. It was normal quitting time, if she ever adhered to what would be considered normal. "Really?" he sounded surprised and she laughed. "Expecting more of an argument?" "Actually, yes." He chuckled. "Well, not today." She mused while leaning back against a building. "I think dinner sounds wonderful." "You realize it's dinner with me, right?" "Yes." She laughed. "Excellent." He answered. "Now I just have to tell that other woman I won't be meeting up with her." "She'll be heartbroken." Aja laughed. "So, no you won't have the twelve kids or the dog. Or cats." "Or the turtles." "Right." She laughed. "So. What are you wearing?" she asked in a sexy voice. "Nothing." he answered with a grin and she laughed. "You must be very popular with Mrs. Biderman." "Not sure what Mr. Biderman thinks." "He might chase you out of the bakery with a hot poker. Talk about hot cross buns!" She joked and they laughed together for a moment before she asked. "So. About an hour?" "Sounds good. I'll pick you up." "Oooh like a real date and everything." She laughed lightly. "See ya in an hour." "In an hour." He said and hung up smiling.

An hour later, he arrived at the secondary manor house to pick Aja up. Who was waiting outside for him on the patio and amazingly, she was wearing a dress. Not that she was overly happy about it. He could tell by the way she was fidgeting with it. He smiled all the same, cause she got dressed up for him. Something she knew he liked.

Tristan got out of the truck and stolled up to the front door. "I see Mrs. Biderman let you get dressed." Aja joked, standing up smiling at him."Pretty spiffy too." he tugged his shirt a little and smiled at her. "Well, had to make a good impression." He smiled as he got closer to her. "I had a beautiful woman to escort to dinner." "She's here?" Aja grinned and looked around making Tristan grab her up in a hug. "Of course she is." He kissed her cheek. "Come, Rabbit. I have a table reserved for us." He stepped back and offered his arm to her. "Shall we?" "We shall." She took his arm with a smile and kissed his cheek. "Such a gentleman." "Don't worry it won't be an everyday thing.? "Alright." she smiled as he walked her to the truck.

Little by little they were returning to the way they used to be. Happy, having fun with each other and falling in love.
