The wind whipped down the main street, store owners were out securing table umbrellas and other items that were being affected by the wind. Aja helped out where she could. She had been on mission for coffee, but took the time to help out the store owners.

Spring storm season would bring some heavy rain storms. The locals were used to it, after many years. For Aja it was both troublesome and soothing in a way. Troublesome because it would often create havoc in the form of repairing storm damage, which would take her and the crews away from their work. It was soothing because she enjoyed storms. Their fury, power, she had an appreciation for nature's beauty.

Rafe watched her as she moved along the street, when she neared the market, he saw one of the signs swinging dangerously above her head. A strong gust of wind proved to be just the thing to separate it from its anchor, Rafe saw it start to pull away from the building, he ran to Aja and spun her out of the way just as the sign fell to the boardwalk.

"Whoa!" she exclaimed, then looked at the sign and then up at Rafe. "Thanks."

"Of course." he said as he helped her to her feet. "Couldn't allow you to be clobbered by a wayward sign."

"Yeah. Dat would definitely put a crimp in my plans fer da day." she brushed herself off and gave him a smile. "Just getting off work?" she motioned to the market.

"Yes." Rafe went over and picked up the sign, moving it against the building. "Do you have someone that comes by and fixes this sort of thing?"

"Yer looking at her." she smiled at Rafe.

"Is there anything you can't do?"

"Cook." she grinned at Rafe. "I've tried. It's not pretty."

"I'll take your word for it." he smiled. "Mind some help in putting it back up?" he indicated the sign.

"Won't be easy in this wind. So. Yeah. I could use some help." she gave him a smile. "Let's go get da bucket crane." she turned and they started walking back to the yards. "How's it goin with ya and Rico?"

"He hasn't said?"

"Wow. Ya both answer that question da same way." she grinned at Rafe. "I'm jist askin as a friend."

"It's....going ok. I still don't know what to talk to him about."

"He's conversant in many subjects." she commented as they walked along. "Surely ya can find something to talk about."

"I want to be closer to him. But that's going to take time."

"Least yer smart enough ta know that." she said as they walked through the gate and headed towards the bucket crane. "He doesn't talk a lot."

"I've noticed."

"A lot of people do." she laughed. "Unless he's drunk."

"I heard a rumor." Rafe said as they climbed up into the cab of the truck.

"From Trevor?"

"Yes." Rafe admitted with a smile. "He's a good man, your son."

"Yeah he is." Aja smiled as they drove back through the gates towards the sign location. "He's the most stable one in da family."

"You seem stable." Rafe chuckled as she backed the truck up and put it in park.

"I suppose I am for the most part."

"And you don't like to talk about yourself either. It's a trait you share with my brother." Rafe said making Aja just perk a brow at him as she grinned as she got out of the truck.

"Come on, Columbo." she shut the door and motioned to the bucket. "Ya get in, hold the sign." Aja handed it up to him. He took it and balanced it on the bucket. She moved it up to where the sign went and then climbed up the arm to the bucket then to the roof.

"Are you part monkey?" Rafe asked watching her.

"Use ta be a thief." she said as dropped a rope down. "Around the braces, I'll haul it up, ya screw it back in. Gonna have ta sink new holes so, go about an inch above the old ones."

"Alright. Can ya hold that up?"

"Ya don't worry about me and jist do whut I told ya." Aja pulled the rope pulling the sign up.

"Whoa! Right there!" Rafe called up. Aja tied off the rope and looked over the side of the building.

"Ya got dis?"

"I think so." he said as he struggled with the weight of the sign. Aja sighed.

"Yer as stubborn as Ricks." she came back over and climbed down. She balanced on the edge of the bucket and held the sign. "Come on, let's get dis screwed back in "fore we get old."

They got the sign hung quickly, just as she was about to climb back up another gust of wind kicked up practically knocking her off the bucket but she caught herself and climbed back up the side of the building.

"Jeebus." Rafe said watching her. "You are part monkey."

"No desire to go see Parker today." she winked at him and then went to untying the anchor rope. "Color it self preservation.? she spoke loud enough to be heard over the wind.

Once she was satisfied the sign was secure, they took the bucket crane back to the yards and then went about getting other small things done in town.
