The plasma pistols were holstered on the turn as she made to get to the railing before the explosion went off

"Ooooh shhhhh..." as she jumped overboard, the rest of what she was saying being lost in the noise as the bomb went off. Aja splashed into the water a split second before the flames spread over the surface. She looked up as they cruised the surface, waiting a bit before she saw she was in the clear and came up for air. "Note to self. Never kick arse on da way off a vessel ya set a bomb on." she shook her head at herself and the steps that lead her here.

Flashback— "Captain Barrera's been seen in the area." the voice came over the communication line and Rico swore. He knew what that was going to mean. Aja was going to hunt him down.

"He has, has he?" Aja said from the doorway of Rico's office. "Where, Larson, where?" she was asking as she stepped further into the room, Padriq was following her into the office, his curiousity peaked at to who Captain Barrera was to his bride to be.

"Aye, Aja. We've sent coordinates to Rico for you. You want for us to keep an eye on 'im?"

"Oooh yes." Aja said squaring her shoulders and pushing up the sleeves to her overshirt. "I gots me a score ta settle with that punk arse son of motherless...." she rambled a couple of very colorful insults making Padriq's smile grow wider even as Rico facepalmed.

"You got it, Aja." the voice now identified as Larson said. "And out." he hung up.

Tristan ambled into the office then, curious what had provoked the colorful language he was hearing all the way in his office. "Did Tinkerbelle mess up again?" he asked taking a lean against the wall.

"No." answered Rico watching Aja pace now as she was no doubt plotting her revenge as she continued to swear, now in Drow.

"Dalharuk d' elg'caress, nau bwael goat licker" she was saying as she paced Rico's office.

"Who is she swearin about then?" Tristan asked Rico, Padriq watched his bride to be while listening to Rico and Tristan talk.

"Captain Barrera. A guy she tangled with about five years ago."

"And she's still pissed off about him."

"Uk sabotaged ussta ship!" she answered Tristan in Drow causing him to look at Rico.

"He sabotaged her ship." Rico translated then continued to explain why that would piss her off so much. Just the ship sabotage was enough to piss her off, but the added reason sent her to hold a grudge against Barrera for this long. "And yes. She's still pissed. He cost us a lead on someone else she was hunting down."

"Ah." Tristan said smirking. "That guy is screwed if she finds him."

"Gi, F'sarn aluin ulu ragar ukta." she continued speaking in Drow. Something she did when she was really angry.

"She said she's going to find him." Rico again translated for the men in the room watching her pace around angrily. She stopped, considered an idea, then kept going. Padriq, who hadn't taken his eyes off her, smirked.

"Luv, yer makin me dizzy."

"I need explosives." She finally spoke in common again, but she was heading for the door as she said it, Padriq following behind her now. "Lots and lots of explosives." Rico and Tristan traded looks as she and Padriq departed the office. Tristan was first to break the silence after their depature.

"Remind me never to get on her bad side, because she is dangerous when she's that pissed off."

"I hear ya." Rico said and sighed. "I better go pack a bag. Looks like we're going on a trip." Rico stood up and looked at Tristan. He smirked. "You could always go in my place, Peaches."

"And deny you another story to use on wooing women" I wouldn't be that mean to you, Tinkerbell." Tristan smirked at Rico.

"I dislike you." Rico smirked as he passed Tristan to the door.

"We all know you love me!" Tristan called back with a laugh. One that Rico joined in on as they went out to prep for what they knew would be coming.

"Well, I got him." Aja smirked as she treaded water. That's when she noticed, she wasn't seeing Padriq anywhere near her.

"Padriq!" she yelled looking around frantically. "Padriq!" she treaded water next to the flaming vessel. Bits and pieces of the burning sails falling in the water next to her. "Damn it, Kidd! Ya best not be dead....I'll kill yer happy arse!"

On the other side of the burning vessel an entirely different scene was happening as Padriq was still battling the captain of the ship they just blew up. It wasn't in the Kidd DNA to simply give up, even if he had essentially won. He had started something and he fully intended on finishing it.

"Ya shouldanae "ave messed wit' me woman!" Padriq landed a punch to the man's face, it lacked the usual amount of power with both men being in the water, but that wouldn't stop Padriq at all. Aja was missing at the moment and the thought this man had something to do with that had his protective streak cranked up past eleven.

"I'm not done with her yet!" the man replied with a demented grin cast towards Padriq. He returned a fist towards his opponent's head, in the hopes that his words would aid his strikes. He knew some trigger had come of his veiled threat when Padriq uppercut him in the gut.

Flaming pieces of deck boards, bits of burning rigging fell around the two men as they battled it out in the water seemingly oblivious to the vessel and the fact that it was starting to sink below the waves.

And back on the other side of the now sinking vessel, Aja saw the sharks starting to circle the burning wreckage. She knew anyone in the water was in serious trouble, especially if they were bleeding at all. "Aw crap." she swung aboard the jet ski, her search for Padriq increasing in urgency. Rounding the starboard side of the burning ship, she spotted Padriq and Captain Barrera fighting in the water. Despite the worry about the incoming predators, she laughed. Leave it to Padriq to get into a brawl in the middle of an ocean.

Padriq heard the engine approaching, a quick glance saw Aja aboard the jet ski and he smiled. She made it off the ship, then he delivered another blow to the Captain. The man still had an arse kicking coming.

Aja urged the jet ski faster towards them, now hitting the distress signal, so the rescue team from her ship would pluck any that lived out of the soup before they became lunch for the predators below. Nearing Padriq, she reached out her hand, grabbing Padriq's arm. He swung aboard the jet ski and then pointed to Captain Barrera.

"Can't leave 'im behin", Luv."

"Did ya take a hit ta da head?" She looked over her shoulder at him like he'd lost his mind.

"I "ave a fight t' finish with 'im." Padriq's patented shameless grin made Aja sigh as she turned the ski to circle back. She rarely denied him anything when he flashed it at her. Padriq took Captain Barrera by the arm, he couldn't fit on the jet ski with them, but they could haul him back to their own vessel. Padriq chuckled seeing a shark trailing along after the jet ski. Captain Barrera was bleeding, proving an irresistible potential meal to the great sea hunter.

They boarded the Breeze and Padriq took up where him and Captain Barrera had left off. The crew members, suckers for a good pirate brawl gathered around. Aja shook her head and went to supervise the rescue of any of the crew from the Raider. She would allow Padriq his fun, and the crew a good old fashioned fight to watch.

Padriq swung hitting Barrera square in the face, without the restriction of the water, Padriq's punches were at full power. As were Barrera's. They were battering and bloodying each other while they had the opportunity to do so. A split lipped grin was blossoming on Padriq's face. The crew cheered Padriq on, as the two slugged it out on the deck. Padriq grabbed the man's head and brought his knee to connect to his face, blood hit the deck and the man went down, out cold.

The crew cheered as Padriq wiped the blood from his face with a wet shirt sleeve, grinning broadly as he looked down at the man on the deck. "Ya ta"e care o' 'im, Ma"es. I'm gonna go fin" the cap"ain." He gave them a wink and headed off whistling to where Aja was treating the crew from the Raider that had lived.

She glanced up seeing him make his way over and smirked. "All better, Luv?" she stood up, putting a hand on her hip looking him over seeing evidence of the fight.

"Aye." he put an arm around her. "I got t' defend me bride's "onor." he kissed her then and hugged her tight. She just laughed.

"Ok. We can go home now. I did whut I came ta do." she nodded to the almost completely sunken ship. A buoy marked the area. Most likely so someone could return with a salvage barge and pull it from the sea, and get any usable cargo off of it.

"Aye. Loo's li"e ye did luv. Nice job." He winked to her softly and nodded, "Le's go "ome.?

The pair smiled at each other. Rico just shook his head and steered the Breeze for home. Life in Arcadia was many things, but dull was never one of them. It probably never would be, not with those two around.
