Aja walked along one of the older streets in town, lined with flowers and ivy, it was a like a little tiny piece of floral heaven. The older ladies tended to their flowers and traded bits of town gossip paying no attention to Aja walking along.

Truth be told, Aja liked that. This was a safe haven zone for her to collect her thoughts, also to catch the things that needed to be attended to.

As one of the oldest parts of town, Aja often checked in on it, storms would go through and sometimes damage tiny parts of this close community, she just come herself to fix most of it. Then stick around to help the women rehang their flower pots.

When she reached the gate at the end of street, she saw the root that had grown out and kept the gate from closing. It wasn't the first time she'd been out here. But the little old ladies insisted that she leave the root where it was. So she did.

Today, a small boat was docked there, filled with grocery bags. Aja looked around for the owner of this little vessel but didn't see anyone.

"OooK." she said with a grin. "I give up as ta whut da heck dey be doin now." she took a lean against the column and looked over the water. She scanned for anything in the water that shouldn't be there. It was something she made sure of, that no trash or other things disturb the natural beauty of their tropical home.

"Aja." a surprised voice came from behind her, she turned and smiled at Violet McNamara.

"Hello, Vi."

"We're not in the way with the boat are we?" Violet asked moving closer with yet more grocery bags.

"No." Aja shook her head. "I'm jist collected my thoughts, Violet. But I am curious whut yer up ta." she gave the woman a smile as she reached out to take the bag and help put it in the boat.

"We take groceries to some of the residents over in Avalon."

"Ahh." Aja nodded and arranged the bags in the boat for maximum storage capacity. "Well, dat's nice of ya."

"They have a hard time making it inland, so." Violet was saying.

"No need ta explain it ta me, Vi. I think it's wonderful."

"This load is ready to go. If you'll excuse me." Violet got into the boat using the root to steady herself. Aja then understood why they wanted her to leave it up. She gave Violet a wave as the woman started the small outboard motor and turned to make her way to Avalon island.

"Just another day in paradise." Aja smiled and turn off down the road, to walk among the people before she went back to her office.
