Padriq Kidd

The sea breeze welcomed Padriq Kidd as he landed at the Arcadia port. A duffle bag was propped over his shoulder while he awaited the lowering of the gang-plank. His crew and him had a fair ordeal at sea. One he wasn't entirely fond of. They weren't on the Whirlwind, oh no, they were on the Scarlet Banshee, Bridget's beauty.

His sister hadn't stopped laughing at his ordeal. Someone had yet again blown his poor beauty to smithereens. It was the second ship with the title Whirlwind, and like him, he thought the name cursed. It was a reminder of better things, however, though he'd never say so.

Boots clunked on the board before they thunked on the dock. "Good on ye lads! Take a few weeks t' rest n" we'll be puttin" t' sea soon enoug"." Though he knew he had lost half his crew. They didn't want to set sail on another boat named by a woman. Poor Aja was going to have a laugh at this one. He should have never given the cabin boy gun powder and expected safety from him.

His beard was scruffy, shaggy at best, and he look more like a homeless man than a pirate, probably smelled like one too. So before he even considered seeing Aja, his now best friend, he started towards the Lair, but found himself lost in no time. "When did the bleedin" streets ge" all ou"a place?"

"Padriq?" He must have still been recognizable from behind. And as he whipped around to see the angel calling his name he was caught off guard by Aja in a dress. Did she even wear dresses"

It took him a few moments to realize, this was no Aja standing before him, but her twin Ajia. Yet he had to contemplate that for another moment. Since when did she get out and about' Usually she wound up lurking in the office. He concluded hell had froze over and that cabin boy was to blame. "Oi lass, "ave ye be seein" the Lair" This whole town be backwards."

"Renovations, it's down that street and the opposite side of the square. You all right' I didn't see the Whrillwind on the register, you weren't due back for another month." Aja would be surprised to say the least.

"Aye, "ave stories fer yer sister n" another commission fer ye." Padriq grinned. Ajia in a dress was a fair sight to see after the last few months abroad, but she never seemed so susceptible to his flirtatious ways. ?"ow ya been lassie?"

"I've been well. But you smell and look as if you need a hose down." So blunt, she nearly hurt his feelings. However, he was sure he saw that "another ship?" look clear on her face. She shook her head. "I'll tell my sister you're back in town. Anyone else I need to inform."

"Aye, but best le" me "andle tha' lassie." He winked and turned, a whistle brought forth by the curl of his tongue and the pucker of his lips. Two steps forwards and half a skip set him off towards the lair with a swagger to his step. He had a good feeling being back, it had been one hell of a trip and he had new tricks.
