The Rhy'Din Marketplace on the eve of Yule. We find such commerce abound, as people continue to shop for friends, loved ones and whatever else the case may be, even as the sun finally sets on the city of Rhy'Din, giving way to a wondrous spectacle of holiday lights and decor, spreading the spirit of the season ever the more so.

And here in the middle of this—- experience....We find one Garet Lotus, member of the Onyx Lotus and hand to the Lady Myllyanna Lotus, standing near the grand fountain in the center of the Marketplace, his eyes panning back and forth as the man looks completely lost....A rather rare look for him, indeed.

An exasperated sigh escaped the man, which cause someone nearby to chuckle a good bit. Which in turn caused Garet to frown somewhat as he called out, "So are you going to just watch me like some sort of hawk, or are you going to come over here."

"Actually, I thought I'd just sit here a bit more, and watch you look like a lost child—- I mean if you don't mind of course." The reply given with just a hint of sarcasm, as the other party stepped into view. "Evening there, Nephew."

The honorific caught Garet completely off guard, as he now not only found himself lost in thought from before, but currently in word as well. A fact which was hardly lost on one Brian Ravenlock, as he neared Garet with a warm smile. A gloved hand lifted to offer a pat of shoulder, "Sorry, Garet. I know it's been years since I called you that. I just felt a bit nostalgic, you know?"

A nod was the only reply Brian got from Garet, as the younger man hugged the elder tightly, in a 'bro' kinda way— so no funny yaoi ideas, unless you're Tara or maybe Renna....Maybe Jade, but that's it....Anyways, Brian reciprocated even going in for the 'bro-tagonist' many pat on the back, for measure. Represent, yo.

The pair parted, as Garet finally spoke. "It's alright, really. But you know you're the only one I allow that, to."

A warm smile grew on Brian's face, "You're a good man, Garet Lotus."

"Some say I had good teachers, old man."

Brian just laughed a bit, "Oh you got jokes now?"

Garet winked, "Every now and then, just don't let it get out. Anyways, you look sharp there, Brian. Those suits we had picked out for you, really do the trick and that long coat, nice touch. Now if we can just work on that sword belt..."

"Hey, hey....This is a classic, kid....I had this since before Miles and I—"

"Exactly, it's time to get something newer. If you're going to go all out, might as well go the distance."

"That so, Garet?"

"Maybe."

Brian just smiled in response, "Some of us that are left of the 'Old Guard' happen to love these classics, and more so....We still work em like a boss, kid."

"Old Busted and New Hotn—-"

"Watch it there, Lotus. We don't wanna get sued."

Garet just shook his head with a grin, as he looked around the square once more, causing Brian to ask, "So what?s this all about, Garet' You sounded all serious when you called, and yet— well look at you here."

"It is serious Brian, I didn't know who else to turn to."

A dark brow most assuredly raised as Brian moved closer to Garet, "What happened?"

Garet turned to Brian, their eyes meeting briefly as the young then glanced away from the elder. "Brian I need help, I'm lost..."

A gloved hand lifted from Brian's side, as his fingers tilted Garet's cheek to see those eyes of his once more, the younger man's expression gave credence to his earlier statement of being lost.

"The hell," was all Brian could say.

Turning from Brian, Garet looked across the square once more. "I don't know what to do, Brian....I didn't know who to talk to, or even ask."

Moving aside Garet, Brian's gaze followed as well, across the square. "What do we need to do, and to whom?"

"Huh' No, it isn't like that— well maybe....I don't know. I just need help."

"Garet tell me what the hell's going on!"

"I....Brian, I..."

"I don't know what to get for Myllyanna..."

"........Myllyanna—- 'the' Myllyanna" Your Myll— wait, you mean for the Yule??

Garet nodded, silently.

Then, Brian Ravenlock face- palmed right then and there, folks. And then—- he laughed....so very loudly, he laughed.
