"Beautiful Costume!" "Just like in the game....No, better!" "She even did the epic shoulders! Amazing!"

Millie just put on her best smile as the small group of con-goers snapped their photos of her Level 99 Frost Mother costume. After they'd had their fill, she was thanked and allowed to continue on her way. She had known she might stand out a bit by dressing up in costume for the convention, but she had no idea so many people would want to take pictures! Her cheeks were a little flushed, but it was hardly noticeable through all the blue body paint she was wearing.

She'd put the costume together in secret as a big surprise for her boyfriend. They both played the game, but he had always been the most into it....hours and hours and hours spent downing the toughest bosses and earning the phat-est of loots. She'd checked and double-checked her costume to make sure that every detail was just like it was in the game. No mistakes. Her recreated gear was flawless. And he did not even know she would be attending! So much secrecy, but it would all be worth it. Now if only she could find where Brian was, she could surprise him with it....Hmm...

Ah! After an hour of searching, there he was! She began to slip through the many moving bodies in the convention center towards the small indoor cafe where she'd spotted her darling sitting. But as she moved close, she could hear him speaking now....And who was that he was with' She froze in place, but it made no difference, Brian's attention was drawn away, and he probably would not have recognized her even if he was looking right at her.

"-love you too, babe. You want to go check out the game room after this?" "Hehe, sure thing!" The harlot of a Magma Elf had her arms wrapped around one of Brian's. They were gazing into each others eyes....and then Brian gave her a quick smooch on the cheek. "You know, Millie never would have done anything like this....dress up in costume. You look hot, babe, I gotta tell ya..." Brian grinned then. "I'm glad I got to come with you instead of her....You've really got what it takes to be my girl. And I'll make sure you get those bracers next weekend from Ancestral Dark-Titan Bunker." The harlot opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted before she could spew her lavish thank you.

"...Brian....How....How could you?" Tears were welling up in Millie's eyes, her words barely audible enough for the couple sitting at the cafe table to hear. Brian looked up, confused at first, but then after a moment, recognition dawned on him. "Oh....Oh god, Millie"! It's..." He was leaping up from his seat with a thousand excuses at the ready. Normally, Millie would have listened, but....she was not feeling herself today.

She threw a fist out to catch Brian right across the side of the face and send him reeling.

"If I ever see your sorry face again, it'll be too soon!" She screamed, drawing the eyes of everyone in the area towards her. Tears streamed down those blue cheeks now as she turned and bolted away from the cafe and towards the stairwell. As soon as Brian had his bearings back, he was up off the floor and after her. "Millie, wait! I can explain!"

Stairwell door thrown open, and Millie was rushing down them as quickly as she could. Brian was yelling from behind her, but she wasn't listening. She didn't care anymore. She just wanted to be away from here...

Then she tripped. She tripped in those stupid Leather Sabatons of the Warden with the Parry enchant. Time felt like molasses as she tipped, then plunged forward down a flight of stairs. She could not remember hitting the ground. Just a strange sensation coursing through her body, like an unseen hand was reaching out and taking hold of her...

And then SPLASH!

The warm water snapped her out of the dream-like state she had been in. The water was only a foot or so deep, so she stumbled to her feet as quickly as she could. She stood there, trying to catch her breath, soaking wet in the Marketplace Fountain of Rhy'din City. She did not know that yet though. And there were a few other things she had not quite taken note of yet...

Despite the 43 degree weather, the soaking wet woman felt quite warm.

Despite the water, her body paint was not running.

Despite the rough landing, her fake armor and weapons were no worse for the wear, and her wig had not been knocked loose.

There had been a slight mix-up in the Nexus. I guess if it looks like a powerful Level 99 Frost Mother, it must be a powerful Level 99 Frost Mother....right"
