Welcome to the "Rhy'Din Feud!" rules and guidelines page, brought to you by Gametime, Inc. If you are unfamiliar with the way "Family Feud!" is played on Earth, please read the following explanation.

Gameplay: Representatives of the group of contestants are posed questions that have already been answered by a survey of people although, sometimes, the surveyed audience would be further narrowed down (e.g. "a number of women"). An answer is considered correct if it is one of the concealed answers on the game board, or judged to be equivalent. More points are given for answers that have been given by more people in the survey, with one point per person. Answers must have been given by at least two of the people to be included on the board, and a question must have yielded at least three distinct answers. There are four (4) members on each team, and each team will select a name. For example, if your team is comprised of family members, your team's name might be "the Smith Family." On the other hand, if your team is comprised of a group of friends, your team's name might be "the Super Awesome Friend's Club!". The name must be PG-rated at worst; children might be watching, so keep it age appropriate, folks.

Basics: To start each round of the main game, two opposing team members "face-off" to see which team will gain control of that particular question. Traditionally, the contestants greet each other with a handshake before the question is read. Whoever guesses the more popular answer in the survey has the option to play the question or pass it to the other family opponents. Players are also automatically given control if they guess the answer most commonly given, which is located in the top space of the survey board (referred to in the show's jargon as the "Number One Answer"). If both answers are worth the same amount of points, control goes to the player that buzzed in first. If neither player gives a valid answer, the next member of each team provides an answer, with control again going to the team giving the more popular answer. If no one on either team can provide an answer that is on the board, the question is thrown out and a new Face-Off round will proceed between the next pair of opposing team members.

Starting with the next team member in line, the team members take turns giving an answer to the host. Team members may not confer with one another while in control of the board. There is a time limit, with the host warning of a five-second count if time is short or the contestant appears to be stalling. An answer not on the board or a team member failing to provide an answer within the time limit results in a strike being charged to the team. When a team is able to reveal all the answers on the board before accumulating three strikes, they win the round.

When a team accumulates three strikes, they lose control of the board, and the other team has one chance to steal the points in the bank by correctly guessing one of the remaining answers. Before attempting to steal the round, the entire team may confer before the answer is given by the Team Captain. If the team guesses a remaining answer correctly, they receive the points accumulated by the other team. If unsuccessful, the opponents keep the points they scored during the round before three strikes.

After determining who takes the bank for a round, any remaining answers are then revealed. The answers are revealed top to bottom. It is traditional in the Earth version of the show for the audience to yell each answer in choral response...however, we'll just see how it goes in the Rhy'Din version!

Questions are played for double and triple points toward the end of the game. The first team to amass 300 points over the course of the game wins, and will proceed to play the "Fast Money" round and choose two team members to participate in the round.

One team member leaves the stage and is placed in an isolation booth, while the other is given 30 seconds to answer five questions. The clock begins counting down after the host finishes reading the first question. If he or she cannot think up an answer to a question, he or she may pass. A contestant may revisit a passed question at the end if time permits. If time runs out and all the questions have not been asked yet, they will still be in play as long as they have not been passed. The number of people giving each answer is revealed once all five answers are given or time has expired, whichever comes first. The player earns one point for each person that gave the same answer; at least two people must have given that answer for it to score.

Once all the points for the first player are tallied, the second team member comes back on stage with the first contestant's answers covered and is given 35 seconds to answer the same five questions. If the second player gives the same answer as the first player on a question, a double buzzer will sound and the host will ask for another response, usually by telling the contestant, "Try again."

If one or both team members accumulate a total of 200 points or more, the team wins the top prize. If both team members score a total of less than 200 points, each point awards the team 3 silver crowns. The prize for winning the Fast Money round is 1000 silver crowns. All cash prizes are divided equally among the team members, with any fractions dropped. Also, each team member will receive a trophy badge for defeating the opposing team prior to Fast Money.

The winning team may elect to return to the next show to defend their Champion status against a new challenger team. Champions may win four consecutive shows, then must step aside to make room for a new team. However, that team is automatically eligible for a Tournament of Champions series of shows to be commenced at a later date.

Scoring Format: The first three rounds uses the Single points format, ie. one point for the number of answers each survey question the board generated. The fourth round Doubles the points of each answer, while the points in the fifth round are Tripled. If neither team manages to accumulate the 300 points needed to win and proceed to play Fast Money, both teams will compete in a Sudden Death round. A new Survey Question is presented with only the Number One answer hidden on the board. The first team to guess the answer wins the game and goes on to play Fast Money.

Now for the Fun Stuff!!: The surveys that we will use to challenge our future game show contestants will be posted on this board and network interlinks. Simply fill out your answers and send them off to (username) Gametime, Inc. (If you are accessing this on a network interlink, please copy-paste the entire survey and fill in your response to each question when submitting a survey). If we receive enough responses to assure us that the show will have a sufficient following, we will proceed to Phase Two....taking applications for contestants!

If you and three of your family/friends/random strangers wish to appear on Rhy'Din Feud!, simply send us your names (as a post to Gametime, Inc.) and we will arrange a date and time for you to compete on our show.

First set of surveys and (if there is enough interest in the first survey) all future ones will appear on this message board. We look forward to hearing your responses, and hopefully we will see you on a future installment of Rhy'Din Feud!
