It was quiet at dusk. The chirping of bugs could be heard, the light breeze from the coming autumn was unmistakable as it rustled through the open market. The crowd was light but active. The small crowds of friends and lovers out on the town; or the parents or the singles out running their errands for the next day: They were all there for various reasons.

There was a heavy vibration that rattled the ground off in the distance. This caused most people to pause for a moment but then went on; Then another one, louder and closer than the last that caused some to turn towards its direction. Someone looked a little harder, narrowing their eyes a bit as if to see something, or hear something farther away. The sounds of screaming could be heard. Another rumble of the ground caused a few people to lose their balance.

It didn't take long before the people in the market began to scream themselves. Black storm troopers with red highlights along their armor were charging in and firing at everyone! The screaming mass began to panic and ran in different directions. There was an explosion not far away, taking out a fair chunk of a building near the opening of the market!

The ground rumbled again, the people fell over this time. The merchant stands were rumbling and shaking violently. From the command pod on the AT-ST that marched through the streets and opening fire, causing more destruction as the people fell over.

The invasion came to the market!

Alice Darling

She leaned against the wall, just inside the entrance to an alleyway in the Marketplace. A tight grin lifted the corners of her lips upward, teeth bared in the low light. Her face and bare arms were covered in ash and blood, her blond hair dirty and tousled. Her shirt looked slashed open by a large knife, the edges ragged and bloody, though the skin beneath was perfect porcelain. Her jeans were covered in filth and gore. She looked, as she wanted - injured, innocent, just ripe for the picking.

Her gaze was focused on a lone looter, armed with a board covered in bent nails, across the way. Amethyst eyes darted upward, and fingertips pressed to her lips briefly, a kiss blown in the same direction, before she stumbled out of the alley, tears slipping down her cheeks.

Alice propped herself against the wall, under the light of a single street lamp that had miraculously survived the chaos. She turned her face upward, and let loose a sob that would have broken even the most hard of hearts. She scrubbed her face over her hands, looking desperately at the man across the way.

She moved towards the man, arms held out as if in supplication.

The man stood a good head and shoulders above her, well muscled. Slick, greasy hair stuck out in all directions, his hands covered in grit and dust only adding to the mess as he pushed his hair out of his face. He took a few steps towards her, a grin on his face that would have sent any other woman running. Alice fell to her knees, burying her face in her hands as she sobbed.

"Please" Help me?"

That voice. It always took him by surprise how well she could fit in, how well she blended in to whatever role she needed to be. She was a predator, one who had learned well how to draw the prey in. He crouched at the corner of the roof, watching the scene below him. A dark smile twisted his lips upward, as he watched her work. His Alice.

While he watched, the man reached her, helping her to her feet. She curled into his chest, still sobbing. He began to move backwards, gently pushing her towards the alleyway. Alice resisted, pushing her hands back against his chest, and looking up at him with a look of fear.

The grin that the man gave her was only a mockery of the darkness within Abryrdan. Of the darkness within her.

Alice gave way, pleading with the man as more tears gathered in those violet eyes. "Please....please. I'll do anything. Just don't hurt me!" The man laughed, shoving her back against the wall, his arm across her throat. He brought his face close to hers, whispering something. Alice shrieked.

He dropped from the roof, landing just behind the man who towered over his Alice. He had made no noise, none that the man would hear, as he was busy trying to hold Alice down, and grope her breast without letting her go. She saw Abryrdan, and her eyes shifted from prey to predator.

In his hand, a fiery blade - long, curved, serrated. Just before he thrust it into the man's back, he felt the man tense, and start to sputter. Alice's face splattered with blood, as she shoved the carefully hidden switchblade into the man's throat

She leaned into the man, her eyes seeking Abryrdan's over the dying man. He twisted the blade, drawing it backward and severing his spine, even as her knife ripped his throat opened. The looter began to slump, and together, they watched him fall between them.

Across the corpse, Alice sought his hand, bloodied fingers squeezing his own. Abryrdan pulled her close, ignoring the final dying bleats of the man beneath them, and kissed her with a fierceness that she returned. He lifted her a moment, the blade disappearing as he held Alice almost tenderly.

Alice brushed a soft kiss against his cheek, laying her head against his chest. Her heart beat hard in her chest, matching beats with his, as they stood, soaked in the blood of their kill.

Finally, a sound distracted them both. Alice looked into his crimson eyes, and whispered, "Again??

His only answer was to pull her close for one last, heated kiss.

The Marketplace was his.

His troops patrolled the streets.

It was the first hit, it was the first to be taken, it was the first to be his. Few walked the streets now, having left, having run or been rescued. He walked through the marketplace, his arms folded behind him watching his troops everywhere. They had taken a few prisioners and were moving them to one of the shops that had surivived the orbital assault.

The girls were being seperated from the men. The men were being shot dead in the street to the dismay of those that witnessed it. Well, those that weren't his troops or directly involved with him. So few realized what was happening, what was truly happening.

Certinly the marketplace was in shambles, was over run. But there was something more going on: The city was becoming his.

The roar of an ATV at full throttle echoed through the streets in the Market District as well as the crunch of a storm trooper or two that were run over. The small vehicle had three people in it. Two were Lupinossai, the third a human. They all wore matching dark gray armor designed for small arms blaster fire. Each one had a bizarre headset with a glowing blue gem, and they all looked ready for a fight.

Also on this small ATV was mounted one compact Ion cannon. Manning it was one of the Lupinossai named Street Wolf. The driver was Ammy Spiritor, and riding shotgun was her Gray Jedi Master, Ember Pallin. Ammy touched her headset as she ducked some blaster fire impacting another storm trooper with her ATV.

"Street, aim the Ion Cannon at the AT-ST's." She instructed.

The jet black furred Lupe swiveled the Ion Cannon and sighted in on one in the distance. He squeezed the trigger and watched a glowing mass of Ions swarm for the AT-ST. With any luck, it may hit, and if they lucky still, maybe short out the damn thing.

"Look live guys, we have captives to free and some damage to do. Don't be heroes, and we all go home." she commed in again.

One of the troopers ran up to him as he walked through the decimated streets. "Sir, we have reports of small incursions happening along the south side of the marketplace. They have small mechanical vehicles and have access to ion weapons. They assaulted a patrol and its AT-ST support."

Travanix stopped a moment, and arched a brow. "Interesting. Some resistance afterall." He looked up to sky and closed his eyes. It was a moment, a pause. He inhaled slowly and exhaled the same way as if taking in the energy of the universe and releasing it back, a little more corrupted. He opened his eyes and looked at the trooper. "Take some of the captives and execute them at the highest point. Announce that any further assault on the marketplace will result in further captives being executed."

"Yes, my lord." He turned and began moving quickly away.

"Oh, lieutenant," The trooper stopped and looked back. "Make it as painful and bloody and possible."

The trooper nodded and moved off.

Eclipse Angel

Eclips was astride the huge Valla on top a tower watching the Market Place. They were reinforcements for Ammy's Silver Wolves tonight. The war angel glanced about the district and all of the violence about. He spotted some activity around a high building but couldn't see what exactly was going on.

He clicked the comm open and spoke.

"Lucifer to Chimera. I spot some activity going on near a high rise. Not sure exactly what is going on. Want us to scout out?" Eclipse asked.

"Negative Lucifer. Stay put. You're a main support on the flank. Just keep observing." The sound of a body crunching under an ATV tire echoed on the comm.

"Will do Chimera. Lucifer and Leviathan out." he closed comms and just watched.

Valla, the huge 40 ft dragon craned his armored head to look at Eclipse and raised one eye ridge.

"We stay put. Top dogs orders." Eclipse patted Valla on the armored neck.

The satisfying crunch of another storm trooper under her treads was music to Ammy's canid ears. She closed off her comms with Eclipse and pulled the ATV behind some rubble from a nearby building. It wasn't a whole lot of cover, but enough to take some blaster fire.

She heard the whining charge and release of another Ion round as Street decided to see what effects and Ion blast would have on storm troopers.

"Street. Save the ammo for the big walkers. That cannon's power cell isn't too large." Ammy spoke to the black lupe.

Street just grinned. "Okay lass. Then it'll be me and me besse here taking shots at their heads then." The black lupe grinned showing some nasty white fangs.

The clicking of his .50 cal sniper rifle was heard then the loud crack as he sighted in on another storm troop, punching a hole in helmet spattering brains out the other end. Another click of the rifle and he sighted in a gain.

Ammy just grinned. It was nice to see Street in the heat of battle again. She looked to Ember. "Master Pallin, shall we look for captives?"

Ember nodded and dismounted the ATV. Ammy followed suit and they both looked past the rubble. More Storm troopers were coming there way and the sound of another AT-ST could be heard in the distance. Ember gave Ammy a glance with those gray eyes of him.

"Shall we give those boys a proper greeting?" He asked.

"Yes. Let's give them a proper Jedi greeting." Ammy responded.

The two ran from behind the pile of rubble and for the storm troopers. A shaft of Aquamarine light followed by a shaft of Violet light would be the sight that greets the troopers. The dead hiss of light sabers soon thrummed as Master and former Apprentice worked the troopers over assaulting them with a mix of Jedi and Sith powers.
