She's seen being practically shoved onto the podium. After all, she's not known for giving speeches, is she? Eventually Kitty dusts herself off and looks out over the crowd. Some are cheering. Others are looking at her expectantly.

"My fellow citizens..

First of all, I suck at speeches. So bear with me." snickers are heard throughout the crowd. She smiled as she continued.

"You spoke out, and you chose me. I am forever grateful...and admittedly shocked. My fellow candidates put up a hard fight. I would like to ask for them to be willing to work with me as I take on this endeavor, for I know I cannot do it alone. I need you...all of you. Without you...I wouldn't standing here blathering on like this." She paused as more people laughed.

" I promise I will do my best to make this town a better place. Most people know that my first and foremost concern is the town's children. With the expansion of Ravensheart School, I feel we're already on the right track. As for the many other issues that are pressing on this town...I shall do what I can, that's within my power." She took a deep breath as she looked up.

"Needless to say, I shall continue to do my weekly shift at the Inn on Sundays. I shall continue to work with the City Guard and the Sisters of the Scathacian Sancutary to find the the West End killer, and do my patrols at night. However....I can safely say my work as a mercenary is temporarily, if not permanently, on hold. That time...shall now be entirely focused on you. On all of us.

Thank you for voting for me. Thank you for supporting me."

She then went into the crowd, hugging people, shaking hands, and simply conversing with those who wished to share a few words.

As Kitty circulates through the crowd, a young courier comes dashing up with a five pound bag of whole-bean coffee labeled 'Sumatran', as well as a brief note reading:

Congratulations! Here's some coffee to start your political career off right (nevermind a thank you for trying to protect me somewhat from Longden's wife) — sometime soon I'll have to sneak back into the Red Dragon to see how you're doing.

Good luck in the upcoming year.

It seemed out of luck that she was standing in the crowd, looking at Kitty. It was hard for her to care at times, she didn't exactly consider this place her home. But...somehow she had managed to vote, and now she was looking at her.

She laughed and applauded when appropriate. Her viewpoint has changed now. Kitty was a developing friend, one that she could care for as her own. She would support her friend, as she started her new journey. A small smile appeared on her lips as she whistled for her friend after the speech was after.

A new time for Rhy'Din has come.
