2:08 am.

"Ms. Dunbridge!" The flash caused her to blink her eyes. "Over here!" And somehow, from all her years of tabloid experience, she didn't think to look away, but instead turned her head towards another camera. It was too cold to be wearing the men's dress shirt as a dress, but it's what she was wearing. Buckled over her with the thick black belt she had on her normal dress, the thin cotton garment certainly looked good. Even if it was a bit....scandalous.

*Flash*

"Are you having an affair with Gnort Dragoon-Talanador?" Another flash, and she couldn't see where the voice was coming from in the crowd. In fact, she had next to no idea how the crowd even got there, as when she had come from the Arena and to GiT there hadn't been any press at all...

"Does his wife know?"

"Does your boyfriend?"

"Is it love?"

The voices and the flashes kept coming and it was all she could do not to draw her sword and start slashing her way through the crowd. At least she had sunglasses in her purse. Slipping them on, she pushed past the press best she could, but she was a small women and there were like a million of them. With a grunt, she finally made it to the street and started walking as fast as she could.

It was hard to see through sunglasses in the dark. Erin was looking for an alley or something, anything to get out of the way of the press. They were behind her now, still calling out stupid questions it was clear she wouldn't answer. Erin had enough experience with the press to know when it was best to keep your mouth shut and release a statement later. Blurting out that she had never and would never have sex with G would only make her look a lot more guilty...

With a sigh and a shake of her head, she finally lost at least half the photographers, and found herself a carriage. Climbing in, she closed the door and leaned her head back against the seat.

"Rocking D Ranch, please. In the North woods..." With that, the driver peered over his shoulder to look at her, just as his brows raised, the flashing started up outside the coach again.

"Aren't you..."

"Just go, huh?" It wasn't a secret she was at least a little irritated.

4 Hours Earlier...

"Okay, so the Carnival is a good start, but you probably should have some sort of public political event sometime soon..." Said Erin as she shuffled some papers and sat back a bit at the table.

"I know, Erin. This isn't my first time, you know." G laughed a bit as he refilled both their glasses with the red wine they had been drinking. He leaned up and over the table in order to hand Erin her glass. He may have come a bit close to her, but it was nothing out of the ordinary, and certainly nothing that friends wouldn't do. Erin, of course, was distracted, watching something through the window for the moment.

Turning her head, she leaned forward a bit, and for a second her alcohol slowed mind thought that G was coming her way to kiss her. Erin's eyes widened and her mouth formed a little "O" and she shook her head, pushing back and up out of her chair. Erin flailed her arms once before the chair tipped back and both woman and chair went tumbling. This, of course, was rather confusing for G, who was just handing the Englishwoman a glass when she had what seemed to be a small fit. G, surprised by her sudden and violent movement, dropped the glass and with a bit of a tilter, it tumbled from the table and onto Erin as she laid on her back.

"Oh...man." Erin groaned a bit as she rolled from the chair and sat up, red wine all over the front of her light purple dress. She sighed as she got to her knees, brushing at the front of her outfit to no avail.

"Uh....Erin?" G sounded about as confused as he looked as he peered down at her. "Are you allright' Sure you're not working too hard lately?"

"No, no...I'm fine. I'm....a mess." She frowned down at her sticky outfit, wiping her hands on the side of her dress now. "You think you have something I could borrow" " Looking up at him with a bit of a pout. She did hate getting this messy.

"Are you kidding" For you it should be a dress or nothing! I happen to have no dress in my closet...."

"G..." Erin said with a sigh. "First, I find it hard to believe there isn't a dress somewhere in your closet, and second, I'm cold. Just a shirt or something will be fine. I can make it work. Come on now, huh?"

Laughing to himself, G headed off to help out the poor Englishwoman. At least she wouldn't have to go home soaking wet, it was cold out!

(This, of course, is a collaborative effort))

Meanwhile...

The boy ran by the window of the Tavern, pausing to look inside. Erin had turned her head through the window to look, and as she leaned forward to squint, the boy ran away. Over the gravel and into the street once more, he looked around before he started running through the streets.

He was young, of course, and underfed. It wasn't rare for street kids to be running about the city, even at this time of night....Of course it wasn't safe, but then again, what was safe about that lifestyle? The boy turned the corner, torn up shoes pounding on the pavement, before he found the door to a press office. It was some sort of sports paper, really he couldn't read, he just knew people with papers came out of the door in the morning. Pounding away on the door, the boy called up to the windows,

"Open up, open up! I got big news ta sell ya!" The editor peeked out the window and looked down at the small boy, raising his bushy eyebrows. He was an older man with salt and pepper hair.

"Look, boy, can't it wait till morning. We have a deadline to meet and a paper to print...." He was pulling back into the building, closing the windows, when the boy yelled once more,

"No! No! I saw a breaking story, just gotta send a photo man! Ye'll get it all, sir! Really!" The man shook his head and looked as if he were about to go back in through the window. This made the boy jump and shake his head, sending his little newsie cap flying. "I saw the governor guy, Gmort or whatever kissing his assistant!" So what if it was a little bit of an exaggeration' How else would he manage supper....The man raised his brows once more and smiled just a little bit.

"Hold on." The window above clicked shut, and a moment later the door opened, ushering the boy inside. "Okay, son, how much you want for your little story...."
