It was a surprise to see a crowd gathering around a platform set in the WestEnd. The platform itself was set in the front of a stately manor house towards the end of the district, House Albaelia.
Once the crowd was settled, a slender figure descended the platform to address the audience. She was elegantly attired and presented a very poised presence before the crowd. She smiled as she began to address the gathered people.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to attend this impromptu gathering.
I wish to announce that I, Ilyona Tarissana Albaelia, am adding my name to the ballot for the Governership of Rhydin."
She paused a moment to allow the announcement to set in before continuing.
"I have been listening to the viewpoints and plans of the other candidates and I must say I am disturbed by the lack of substance and indeed the nastiness that has been exhibited thus far. Rhydin deserves better than this!
As you may know, I come from a distinguished family, whose fortunes are in shipment and trade. Each member of my family has an active hand in the business, so you may rest assured that you will be voting for a candidate who knows what hard work means!
As Governor, I promise to improve the health care, businesses and educations of this region. I will work closely with the authorities and the City guards to improve the security and safety of the citizens of Rhydin. My family has a history of charity and civic pride, and I hope to bring those ideals to the Citizens of Rhydin.
