"I'd like to thank you for your questions and humbly apologize for my lateness in getting to them. There have been personal issues lately that has required my attention..."
As governor, how would you choose to deal with racial discrimination and violence"
"During Ms. Spiritor...Meeting...to address an Act to be drawn up for this particular subject, and the debate most recent, this has been a question on many minds. I will admit that I find putting an Act into place could very well do more damage than good.
I digress...
As I have stated before, a person shouldn't be attacked for what they are, where they come from, or what they can do. A person shouldn't be judged for any of that. It is what they do that matters. A person cannot choose to be born into a race but they can choose what to do with their life. Their actions is what makes them who they are, not their race. Not their magical powers or lack of. I see this racism as nothing more than an excuse to attack another because people feel they need it to be justified in some way. It isn't right to attack a good person. Attacking a good person doesn't make it right and makes the attacker in the wrong.
Unfortunately, in this city there is a lot of hate crimes. It isn't just racial discrimination. I could go on and on about this....My goals are simple. To give those victims places they can go to without fear of being turned away for whatever reason. To give them the knowledge that they aren't wrong for being attacked because of what they are. I plan on seeing about having more classes available for people who want to learn self-defense. Self-defense folks. Not attacking others before they attack you. I am willing to set up a fund for people who are willing to each these classes."
What do you see as your greatest challenge as governor"
Keeping myself from being too vague or blunt. I have found over the years that people do not appreciate them regardless of how I feel. I am a private person...and that isn't going to change. At the same time I am blunt because I feel if I do tell a person something, be it my personal opinion, or something else, I do not feel that they should be coddled. It is out of respect I do this, not because I am being rude or ill towards someone.
Aside from this personal...challenge...I feel that maybe getting the people to move forward and grow from certain viewpoints may be a greater challenge."
