"She's absolutely beautiful." Minoko stared down at the infant she held in her arms. The baby was silent, doing nothing more than staring up with her father's green eyes.

"I know. I almost can't believe that she's mine. The dark hair..." Minoko smiled at her sister's comment and patted Tsukiko on the head, causing the infant to squirm around. "Here, I'll take her." She handed the child back to her twin, who proceeded to place Tsukiko into her blue crib.

"So where are the boys today?" Her arms now free, Minoko stretched them over her head. Motoko took a seat opposite her. Facing each other gave the illusion of a mirror. Through Motoko's three pregnancies, the two of them still managed to look exactly the same, give or take a few pounds.

"Oh, they're off somewhere. Hopefully Spencer can keep up with them. It'll be a miracle if one of the twins doesn't end up in the river." There was a pause in the conversation. While Minoko was simply daydreaming, Motoko clearly had something a bit heavier in mind. "You never told me exactly what happened. Why you were in that guy's body." Dark brown eyes met dark brown eyes. Motoko crossed her arms, indicating a certain seriousness. It wouldn't be ignored this time, and Minoko simply could not up and leave. She wanted answers.

"It's magic crap. You know how it is. Like Lyric." Minoko gave a slight shrug in her best attempt to make the event seem insignificant.

"No, this isn't like Lyric. Lyric dabbles in healing and mind reading. Not soul switching."

Minoko bit down on her lip. Motoko was not going to take this well. "I'm not supposed to tell you."

"Is that what he told you?"

"Toby. Yes."

"And how long have you known this guy?"

"Um....A few months now." She grimaced, waiting for her sister's reaction. But much to her surprise, Motoko was silent. She stared out of the only window in the room for a few moments before speaking.

"You like him."

"Shut up." The flush that instantly came to Minoko's cheeks gave everything away.

A sigh came from Motoko. "So have you done anything about it?"

"No." Their "date" did not need to be mentioned. "And I'm not going to."

"Why' Guys love you." Watching Minoko at work got to be rather disgusting at times. With her sister constantly smiling and slinging drinks, it only took a few hours for half the bar to be drooling.

"It's just not going to happen. He loves someone else. Love might even be an understatement." It was Minoko's turn to cross her arms. "Not that it matters. Even if he felt the same way, we wouldn't be together."

Motoko rolled her eyes. "Please, Min. Not this again."

"I just think it's better if I'm alone." Motoko's mouth opened, but Minoko spoke before she could say anything. "No. You know why."

"It's still stupid."

"Hardly. People die when they're with me, and everyone else just disappears. It's always bad."

"Piers-"

"Stop, Moto-"

"No. Piers was an as*hole, Kyle and Ash were around for all of five minutes, Olanis wasn't your fault and Ki....Ki was a hero." There was a moment of silence for the not so recently deceased. Minoko started drumming her fingers on the edge of her chair. "What are you thinking?"

"I don't know. I want to try, but it just seems silly."

"Well, it would be silly to try with Toby." She scoffed. Motoko had already decided that she didn't like the kid. "Anybody else in mind" I'm sure somebody likes you."

"One person does. But she..."

"She?" Motoko raised her eyebrows in question.

"Yeah, Mayu. She's the one that switched us, the one that Toby likes."

"Seriously, Min" These are your new friends" I never thought I'd say this, but I think I miss Shadow." The both of them chuckled at the comment. "You should just date Katan. He's so easy." Katan and Spencer were known to be best friends, so Minoko dating him would be extremely convenient.

"In what way?"

"Every way. He's easy going, and you should see some of the girls he's running around with these days. Neko sluts and horny warrior chicks."

"That's nothing new. Ever since him and Shadow split he's been on a f*ck parade, and it only got worse after the wedding." Minoko cast her eyes down to the floor. Rose-colored glasses were always worn for those days, before kids and before the inn was a serious business. It seemed the riot had been a catalyst for everything coming to an end. Olanis's death had only been a part of that.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah. I just miss everyone."

Motoko had nothing to say to that. Out of their old group, the only people she had been particularly fond of were Spencer and Thalos. Now Spencer was her husband, and Thalos was a distant memory. In order to build a family certain things had to be forgotten, and Motoko didn't regret a thing. She loved her boys, her dog, her home and her new baby girl. The sound of cracking knuckles rang out in the small room. "You can't bring back what we had. I don't even know why you'd want to."

"I know. It's just....What's the word" Nostalgia."

"Nostalgia." She repeated the word, thinking of all that it held for Minoko. It was amazing that her sister finally had enough memories to feel that way. Motoko felt a warmth well up inside her. "I'm not going to complain about your new friends. I'm not going to make you tell me what happened. Just stay safe, okay?" At that a clamor came from downstairs. Hentai was barking and Spencer was trying to say something, though it could barely be heard over the yelling of her three sons. The din was music to her ears.

"I know they're different, but I do love them." Different wasn't the right word. What she really meant was powerful. Motoko had no idea what Toby and May were truly capable of.

"I know, Min." Motoko stood up and peeked into the crib. Tsukiko was still sound asleep, despite the noise. "I trust that you know what you're doing. Now let's see what the boys are up to."

Minoko stood up, a smile on her face. What was going on in her own life didn't even seem to matter when she was over here. The twins headed over to the door. Their family was waiting.
