Meike grabbed Caia's arm as she broke the running streak. "Caia, I can't anymore?" The girl said, collapsing to a knee, her free hand moved to caress her side beyond the fabric of her clothing, her skin around her ribs would be bruising. Meike was injured, and Caia had no time or energy to heal her. The immortal turned to her handler, her face had been sliced over her left eye, and the flesh mended back together slowly but surely before Meike's very eyes. They'd been partners for years, and she'd never get used to that' She'd always cringe any time the immortal got hurt.

"You have to, Meike?" The girl whispered, her eyes trailing to her injured partner. There was no way the girl was going to be able to move much. "Damn it' Alright," the immortal mumbled. The enemy wasn't far behind, but it was different. Caia couldn't rightly turn Meike into a sword and run with her. Looking around and weighing options in her head, the immortal took note of an abandoned nest in the ground. "Alright, look" I'm going to hide you here, okay' I'm going to lead them off, and come back for you."

"Caia, you'll be killed! There's too many of them!" The handler whimpered and tried to stand. There was only a weak yelp that came from her mouth as she slumped back over.

"You'll be killed if we try to keep going like this" Besides, I think you're forgetting who I am." Caia said with a light grin and wiggled her fingers. "Go on, in there. I'll cover you with some leaves and get their attention' If anyone finds you, play dead?" The immortal instructed her with a light glare. It wasn't the best plan, but it was all that she had at the moment. "I'll be back as soon as we're clear, okay?"

"Deal?" Meike mumbled and began to crawl for her hole in the forest wall. "You better come back?" As Caia covered her with brush and twigs, she held her breath. Only a couple of thoughts on her mind, oddly enough they had nothing to do with Caia. Please don't let there be spiders" Or snakes" "Meike, I promise I'll come back for you?" The immortal whispered before turning away to run toward the enemy who had been approaching and fast. Her objective was to run faster in their direction to lengthen the distance between them and Meike, and then she would break right or left and lead them off. Everything about her motions were fluent and graceful" She managed to dodge every twig, every branch, and still keep on those quick little toes.

The warriors seemed to stop short upon her arrival. "There she is!" One stated the obvious, and Caia rolled her eyes as he stepped up to her. "And without armor, or even a weapon, too' It's like she wants to be slaughtered." The man told the group, gathering a bit of laughter.

Caia went silent, before she scoffed and raised her eyes to the man who made a grab for her. "You guys really need to learn who the hell I am?" The immortal said, blue eyes"one deadened and scarred over"trailing shut as her forearm produced a blade that ran along the outer side of it from wrist to elbow. It was a quick and effortless motion, an easy swing of modified limb that left the man tensing and wide-eyed. He choked out, and she smiled as the blood sprayed from his throat. "My name is Caia, and I'm a goddamn weapon!" With the finale of her words, the man fell to the ground, people gasped, others growled, and then they charged.

Meike could hear the angry yelling, the war cries, the screaming in the distance. ?" Leave it to Caia to get an army's attention?" The handler muttered weakly, and brushed her hair from her eyes and a twig from her cheek. "Please be okay?"

Okay was her middle name, she promised! The immortal was sprinting, and thankfully, she'd gained the group's full attention. She'd run for what seemed like hours, a couple of them spent dodging knives and arrows that were flying at her backside. One in particular had made it to her shoulder blade. She'd have a heck of a time getting that out of her flesh. Caia had managed to disburse the crowd, but a few of them found her trail and were hot on it. Caia turned, slowing to a light jog and eventually a stop, she saw five men. "Well, this isn't a fair fight' You guys are going to get your asses handed to you on a platter!"

"Shoot that foul-mouthed b*tch right in her pretty little head?" One man said.

"No!" Another said, coming to her rescue. Or so it seemed. "She's going to suffer for what she did to Jamie?" The man said, approaching what seemed like an injured little doe.

The blade traveled up the outside of her pinky now, half her arm a sharp, deadly weapon. "See, I really, really don't like killing people" I don't. I try to be a nice kid, and just get by' and you guys have to come out with your fancy little arrows and your funny little bows and kill my handler?" A soft sigh escaped her lips. "And then you don't give me much choice" Word of advice, though?" Caia offered and raised her eyebrow at the man who had been reaching for her. "You really should have listened to your friend." As his hand soon reached out, it was just as quickly severed from his wrist. He screamed out, and Caia winced lightly, she couldn't be compassionate" Not with Meike's life on the line. These people weren't letting up, and it was do or die at this point.

The men raised their bows at her, readied their arrows, and closed one of their eyes. Caia sighed lightly. She reached for a low hanging branch and pulled herself up almost effortlessly. Lean muscles lined her arms carried her to the branch and once she gained her footing, she was soaring for another. Arrows whizzed past her and her body flung forwards. She swung with the grace of a gymnast. Her left arm barely caught her to a branch directly above them. They screamed out, aimed upwards, and Caia's right arm flew forwards toward the branch. They struggled to ready their arrows, and she scrambled to hit the branch as hard as she could. After a few good knocks, the branch was severed and went crashing down on the unprepared soldiers. This wasn't before an arrow stuck into the arch of her foot, and Caia screamed out.

It was her own fault, really. Meike always told her to wear shoes" But when her feet healed like the rest of her body, what was the point' Now she might rethink that whole theory. Dropping down from the tree, she favored that foot and kept it high as to not dig the head in deeper. One man watched her rip it from her foot. ?"That'll slow you down?" he whispered weakly from below the branch. His head had been bleeding, but he made it out better than the other three, who had suffered broken necks.

Caia looked for the other man, who had apparently passed out from the pain. "You call yourselves warriors?" The girl whispered, and yanked the ammunition from her foot. ?"You're all just children playing with knives?? With those words, the flesh in the bottom of her foot began to mend and become anew save for the blood that tainted her skin. She threw the arrow near his broken body and scoffed.
