Regarding the story "Runnin' with the Devil", we did a little research on the New Jersey aka Leeds Devil before starting this. The lore is interesting, and the jury is still out on exactly what the Jersey Devil is or if it even exists.

There are a bunch of websites that go into the legend, and I'm not going to post them all here, as they are easily and readily available to anyone who wants to find them. We've tried to stay as true to the lore as possible, but we have had to take a few artistic liberties to bring the story here.

The character of Harry Hunt, Jr., is a fictional character, and no disrespect is intended concerning the actual historical Harry Hunt.

There are several artistic renderings available online which depict what the Jersey Devil might look like; however, none of them are quite right in my mind for our story. The picture Hunt shows to Dean is the following:

http://www.brooklynvegan.com/img/music2/jerseydevil.jpg

If anyone is interested, there is a group of people in New Jersey who spend time looking for it. Makes for some interesting reading. They maintain a website here — http://njdevilhunters.com/

No one has ever proven one way or another if such a creature exists, and due to the supernatural nature of our story, we are presuming one possible, though obviously unlikely, hypothesis. Keep in mind that this is just a story, nothing more.

Whatever the Jersey Devil is, we hope that people have as much fun reading the story as we are writing it. That's all! :)

I thought I'd post additional bio information for what happened to Dean while in Rhydin because his story deviates a little from canon Dean.

Dean arrives in Rhydin shortly after Jo and Ellen die (Episode 5x10, Abandon All Hope) and returns home after Lucifer is imprisoned in the pit and Sam returns from hell (Episode 5x22, Swan Song).

It goes something like this...

After an encounter with the demon Meg, Dean is thrown through a mirror into Rhydin, where he meets and falls in love with Quinn Benoit. Torn between his love for Quinn and his devotion to his brother Sam, Dean attempts to return home, but his soul is torn in half, and part of him stays in Rhydin, while the other half returns home to Sam.

The Dean that returns home to Sam continues with the quest to kill or capture Lucifer, as seen on the TV show, while the other half tries to make a life for himself in Rhydin.

Dean and Quinn run into some problems with demons while in Rhydin, and Dean finds out some things about Quinn, which I will not reveal here, as that is part of Quinn's story, but which lead him to believe that she is safer and better off without him. In spite of that, he proposes to Quinn and tries to make a new life for himself in Rhydin, but tormented by memories of hell, overcome with grief over Jo's death, and feeling lost without his brother, Dean's drinking problem gets out of control.

Dean meets another hunter named Greg and befriends him and Spade, but is drawn into their problems when it's revealed that Greg is demon spawn. Dean offers to help, but Castiel, the angel who pulled Dean out of hell, finally locates Dean and tells him he doesn't belong in Rhydin and that he has to return to Earth. After a confrontation with Abaddon, the demon who fathered Greg, Castiel takes Dean and Greg back home and returns that half of Dean's soul to his body after Lucifer has been returned to the pit.

From this point, our story deviates from the canon story, as Sam and Dean are actively hunting Abaddon, who is one of many demons struggling for control over hell, which is now in chaos. Castiel recently informed Dean that Greg killed himself, which adds to Dean's feelings of guilt and remorse, as well as his loneliness in knowing he can never really have a normal life, no matter how badly he might want it.

And that about brings things up to speed. I know it's complicated. Feel free to PM with any questions or post in the OOC Guestbook Thread. And thanks for reading! :)

Regarding the "Runnin' With the Devil" story, it's finally finished! I know it's long and I know it rambles, but it was hard deciding what to leave in and what to leave out. A few scenes were cut that we felt weren't necessary to the overall story, but most of it made the boards.

To those of you who are fans of Supernatural, the Leeds Devil story probably takes place somewhere between Episodes Five and Six of Season Six. Dean has left Lisa and Ben behind and knows something is up with Sam, but doesn't know what yet. We're trying to stay as close to canon as possible, but because we don't really know where the writers are going with the story, we often have to guess.

Kudos to anyone out there who's been reading. We had a lot of fun with the story, and we hope someone out there enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed playing and writing.

And now that the Leeds Devil story is complete, we're going to be taking a little break from the boys for a while to explore some other things. But rest assured, we'll be back sometime soon with some new adventures.

Once again, thanks to anyone who's been reading, whoever you are. :)

The "Growing Up in Rhydin" SL has come to its conclusion. Sam and Dean have reached their true ages of approximately 28 and 32, respectively. I'm not quite certain exactly where in Season Six they get tossed from Earth to Rhydin, but I'm thinking probably somewhere in the middle.

The boys will remain in Rhydin for a short time longer before making their return home. I'm not sure exactly when that will be, but sometime following the Beltane festivities. We have been toying with the idea of them going back and forth from time to time, but we haven't completely decided yet. They are a lot of fun to play and write for, so we're hoping to bring them back sometime soon.

Special thanks to the players of Ella, Clover, Katt, Quinn, and Vex, and a huge thanks to Lilliana for all her help and for all the fun. We've had a lot of fun with this SL, and it's in good part to the other players who've embraced the characters and played along with the craziness.

Thanks again, everyone!

Regarding the posts for "The Incident in Flagstaff", the story was inspired by Season 5, Episode 16, "The Dark Side of the Moon", where it's mentioned that at some point in time, Sam ran away for two weeks to Flagstaff. It's unclear from the series exactly when that took place, but I assume it happened late in Sam's teen years, and it makes sense to me that it may have happened near the end of high school when Sam was trying to figure out what to do with his life, wanting to break away from his family and go to college to make a life of his own.

There's a clip of the scene here, if anyone is interested in watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK75EE-VHS0

Hope someone enjoys reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

An OOC note regarding Dean's present situation...

Due to an accidental ingestion of youth potion, Dean has been transformed into a teenager. Though the effects are supposed to be temporary, for some reason, he seems to have become stuck in the body of a seventeen-year-old.

As such, he is a little shorter and slimmer than his adult self, with short, dark blond hair, hazel green eyes, a freckled face, and very little facial hair. Though physically a teenager, he has retained the knowledge, skills, abilities, and memories of his adult self.

As a result of his physical regression, he is no longer protected by the Enochian sigils that were burned into his ribs to hide him from angels, and he no longer bears the protective tattoo that prevents demonic possession. In addition, all physical scars from previous wounds have disappeared.

He is temporarily protected from those who might do him harm by a spell cast upon him, the likes of which he does not understand.

A blue stone, which protects him from nightmares, hangs from a black cord around his neck, safely hidden beneath his shirt.

Also, I know it's a little confusing because the posts have to catch up to the RP, but game time wise, the Bon Bon Ghost SL takes place before Dean becomes a teenager. Just thought I'd clarify that.

Additionally, Dean's brother Sam has returned home to Earth for now, leaving Dean on his own in RhyDin once again. Thanks to Quinn's generosity, he has, for now, taken up residence at the loft they once shared on the WestEnd.

In an attempt to bring this board up to speed, it occurred to me that I should probably post a timeline of events in order to help alleviate confusion. So with that goal in mind, the recent order of main events goes something like this:

Dark Secrets

The Case of the Bon Bon Ghost

Edge of Seventeen

Asking for Hoodoo Help

Crash Into Me

Who's Your Daddy"

Stick it to the Man

Hope that helps. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Hopefully, more will be posted soon.

Many thanks to the players of Katt, Paige, Emily, Junior, and Riley for the above scenes. You guys are awesome.

And thanks for reading!

For those of you who are fans of Supernatural, it's probably obvious by now that I am taking RhyDin Dean in a different direction than canon Dean.

Because I like to acknowledge what?s happening on the TV show, I am once again splitting Dean's soul in two, so that part of him will return home to do whatever he's going to be doing with Sam, while the other half remains in RhyDin to live his own life and experience his own adventures. There may be a little cross-over plot-wise, but mostly Dean's adventures in RhyDin will be original and have very little to do with canon Dean, other than what?s already been established via back story.

A few new characters, both friends and foes, will be introduced into Dean's RhyDin adventures, as well as some canon characters. Ezekiel is an original character of my own creation, and I'm still working on exactly who he is and what his role will be in the story.

At this point in time, Dean is still stuck in a teenager's body for the foreseeable future. He is living with Paige at the loft and, for now, is earning an honest wage as a carpenter. Of course, he's a born hunter, and being who he is, his adventures are far from over.

My thanks to anyone who's been following this story and also to everyone who's been a part of it, thus far. Muchas gracias.

Here's a brief explanation about what?s currently going on with Dean because I know it's a little confusing. Essentially, there are three separate Deans, as follows:

1.) Canon Dean who's back on Earth fighting the good fight with his brother Sam.

2.) Teenage Dean who was in Rhy'Din, but will be returning home sometime soon.

3.) Alternate Universe (AU) Dean who's been splintered off canon Dean after the Season Seven finale and will be experiencing adventures of his own on an alternate Earth.

I know it's a little confusing, but I will try to clarify in my posts which is which. If anyone has any questions, let me know. Thanks for reading!

The following is just a brief update for those who might be following this folder.

The Dean who was in Rhydin has returned home and is no longer in Rhydin. At this point in time, it is doubtful he will be back. Also, just to clarify, it was not angels who sent Dean back to his own world this time around, but demons. His soul has essentially been rejoined with canon Dean, and he has no recollection of Rhydin, other than to think it was all some strange dream.

Warning: The following includes spoilers for Supernatural Season Seven. Read at your own risk. ;-)

Alternate Universe (AU) Dean's soul was split from canon Dean when he killed Dick Roman, the leader of the Leviathan at the end of Season Seven. For those who follow the show, when Dean was cast into Purgatory at the end of the Season Seven cliffhanger, his soul was split, part of it going to Purgatory and part of it going to the AU world.

For those who are following the story, there are some important differences between AU Earth and Supernatural canon Earth. The chief differences are as follows:

~In the AU, Dean agreed to allow Michael to use him as a vessel, and he and Sam (as possessed by Michael and Lucifer) killed each other, changing everything that happened after that and averting the Apocalypse. Hence, the Dean that found himself in the AU was previously believed to be dead.

~Castiel was also killed and Raphael is now in charge of Heaven. (Crowley still took charge of Hell.)

~Since the Leviathan were never released from Purgatory, Bobby is still alive in the AU (but dead in canon).

~Jo Harvelle never existed in the AU. When she was killed during Season Five, her soul was essentially split like Dean's, sending her to the AU, where she has no memory of her previous life, other than fragments that manifest themselves mainly in nightmares. She goes by the name Nimue Morgan in the AU.

The alternate events in the AU allow for characters who might have be dead in canon to still be alive in the AU and vice versa, though we've not yet decided who is still alive and who is not. The main points to remember are that Sam and Castiel are no longer alive in the AU, but Jo and Bobby are.

I hope that clears up any confusion. If anyone has any questions, drop me a PM, and as always, thanks for reading!

Just a note of clarification on the "From the Frying Pan into the Fire" post, the scene takes place after Dean is sent back to Earth from Rhydin and before he is sent to the alternate universe. It's just a scene that was rolling around in my head. That's all. Sorry for any confusion! :?"":

Ayden

Date: 2012-08-24 10:35 EST
Thought I'd better pop in here and clarify Ayden's story for anyone following this folder.

****Spoilers for Seasons 4 and 5 of Supernatural following****

In the canon, Adam Milligan is Dean and Sam's half-brother. He and his mother are killed by ghouls in Season 4, and he is resurrected in Season 5 as a means for the angels to convince Dean to say yes to being Michael's Vessel. Suffice it to say, it doesn't work. Adam ends up being Michael's Vessel, and is tossed into Lucifer's Cage with Sam/Lucifer in the season finale.

In the AU ...

- The child of John Winchester and Kate Milligan is Ayden Milligan.

- The ghoul attack happens earlier in the timeline than in canon, and the deaths of Ayden and Kate are averted by John's presence in Windom.

- Kate dies as a result of Zachariah's blunt attempts to get Ayden to agree to be Michael's Vessel. Ayden refuses anyway.

- In order to protect their newfound little sister, Dean and Sam come up with a new plan which results in them both housing the archangels and both killing Michael and Lucifer.

And I hope that clears up some of the confusion!

Just to clarify a little, there are basically three stories going on at once in the alternate universe (AU) - past, present, and future, as follows:

Past - 2010 - The AU backstory takes place in 2010, during which time Sam and Dean meet their half-sister, Ayden, and attempt to stop the Apocalypse, which ends in their deaths and the deaths of Michael and Lucifer.

Present - 2012 - Dean and Nimue (AKA Jo) are transported to an alternate universe, where the Olympian Gods have taken control away from angels and demons after Michael and Lucifer's demise.

Future - 2016 - Dean is swept forward to a possible future, in which Hades has made the world a desolate place and Nim is trying to keep herself and their children alive, after future Dean's death. (This part of the story has been concluded.)

Future - 2034 - Sam and Hope travel to the past (2012) to aid their parents in their quest to save the world from destruction, among other things.

Confusing, yes, but lots of fun. ;-)

Just posting an update on where we currently stand with this folder.

Of the four stories going on at once in the alternate universe (AU) - past, present, and future - two of them have now been completed, as follows:

Past - 2010 - The AU backstory takes place in 2010, during which time Sam and Dean meet their half-sister, Ayden, and attempt to stop the Apocalypse, which ends in their deaths and the deaths of Michael and Lucifer. Future - 2016 - Dean is swept forward to a possible future, in which Hades has made the world a desolate place and Nim is trying to keep herself and their children alive, after future Dean's death.

The following stories are still in the works and will be continued, so stay tuned for more coming soon:

Present - 2012 - Dean and Nimue (AKA Jo) are transported to an alternate universe, where the Olympian Gods have taken control away from angels and demons after Michael and Lucifer's demise. Future - 2034 - Sam and Hope travel to the past (2012) to aid their parents in their quest to save the world from destruction, among other things.

Thanks for reading! :)

Just a few quick notes to clarify some confusing plot points with regard to the stories going on in this folder as we further toy with alternate universes and pasts and futures that may or may not ever happen.

There are, for all intents and purposes, two Samuel Winchesters. No, I'm not talking about Dean's brother Sam (or his grandfather either). I'm talking about Sam's namesake - Dean and Jo's son Samuel, aka Sam for short.

The adult Sam traveled back in time with his younger sister Hope to help save their parents from Hades' minions and decided to remain in the past, while Hope returned to her own time in the future. In the meantime, that same Sam was recently born to the Winchesters, creating two Sams in the present, each of whom will have his own life to live and choices to make. The two have slightly different birth dates, but are, in essence, the same person. We will try to further distinguish the difference by referring to the adult version as Sam and the child as Sammy.

There were also recently two Deans, as the seven-year-old version was temporarily brought to the future to save him from being killed, but he has since returned to his own time and place in the past, where he grew up to be the Dean of the alternate universe, who said yes to Michael and sacrificed his life, along with that of his brother, to save that world from the Apocalypse. That leaves only canon Dean, who found himself brought to the alternate universe after defeating the leviathan leader, Dick Roman (at the end of Supernatural Season 7).

What does all of that mean for our heroes? It means it leaves Dean and Jo in the year 2013 (for now), fighting to save the world from Hades and his allies, and though there are two Sams, there is only one Dean.

I hope that clears up any confusion. Much more coming soon as we still have a lot planned. As always, thanks for reading, and PM one of us if you have any questions. :)

For anyone who might be following this story, we are currently nearing the end of 2013, story-wise. Hades has been defeated, and there's a tenuous peace between Heaven, Hell, and Mount Olympus. Crowley is in charge of Hell, Gabriel of Heaven, and Zeus of Olympus.

Dean and Jo recently had a son and named him Robert Samuel Winchester, but in order to distinguish him from the same son who came to them from the future known as "Sam", the baby has been dubbed "Bertie".

Also, just a reminder that the Dean and Jo in this story are actually transplants from the canon universe (CU) to an alternate universe (AU), so they carry with them the history and memories of the canon world and characters up to the end of Supernatural, Season Seven.

We have additionally made some changes to some of the canon characters by keeping some who died in the series and getting rid of others who survived. For example, Sam and Castiel died in the AU; but Bobby, Ellen, and Gabriel survived. Dean's grandfather, Henry Winchester, still lives in the AU and is in charge of the Men of Letters.

Additionally, John did not have a son named Adam in the AU, but a daughter named Ayden, who recently married Ares, the Greek God of War, and herself became immortal. Bobby and Ellen are married in the AU and served as surrogate parents for the deceased Dean and Sam (who sacrificed their lives in the AU to defeat Lucifer and Michael), but they never had a child of their own.

I think that about covers it. We're going to be updating this story very soon, so stay tuned for that. Hades might be defeated, but we still have plenty of adventures planned for the future. As always, thanks for reading, and if anyone has any questions, sling us a PM! :)

Just another quick update regarding the story thus far, for those who may have been following or trying to get caught up ...

The current SL, which starts with the thread The Trickster Tricked, takes place in February 2015.

As a reminder, Dean and Jo were plucked from the canon Supernatural universe and brought to the alternate universe, where past events transpired differently than in the canon universe.

To recap what?s happened up until now, Hades & Co. have been defeated. Archangel Gabriel is in charge of Heaven, and Crowley is the King of Hell. The Olympians who remain are in charge of Olympus. There is a tenuous peace between the factions, which is in danger of being threatened by the unexpected appearance of Loki, the Trickster God, who is believed to have a dispute with Gabriel. (This is not the Marvel version of Loki, but there may be some similarities in appearance, as well as back story.)

As always, if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me or Jo's Player and we will be happy to help. The story is admittedly a little convoluted, but we are having a heck of a lot of fun with it!

Thanks to anyone who's been following along, and thanks for reading! :)
