Snowstorm

For days the dragoness had slept in the room Aurthur so kindly offered, regaining strength with each passing day.

Three days after being reunited with her body, she finally woke from a peaceful slumber, in her dreams she had still communicated with her beloved on the other side, yet he was reluctant to return, at least yet.

She couldn't, didn't want to miss anymore, even ghostly, she had watched over her hatchling, her little one, but could never truely touch her, nuzzle her, now she had that second chance, and she's make sure that she would make the most of it.

Rising from the spot she'd slept so peacefully in, white wings stretched out, then tucked neatly back against her form as she moved quietly through the lair.

Ice blue eyes blinked once, twice, at the sights before her, the glowing crystals, the many rooms, and the peacefully slumbering children, even the hatchlings seemed to rest a bit easier as she peeked in on them.

Still she walked softly, making sure not to wake those slumbering, making her way to the cavern's entrance, she poked the tip of her snow white snout out into the chilly air, a bit surprised at the shower she received, before a chuckle erupted from deep down in her belly.

The lair was beautiful, but she felt the want to explore, she wouldn't stray far, white wings unfurled, testing the winds, before muscles bunched up as she pushed off the ledge, soaring skyward, then diving, she watched the waters in the lake, before landing on the bank.

Eyes widening just a bit as a she saw something from the past, from near her own nest so long ago, an ice flower, or moreso, a patch of them, snow white snout burried into the delicate flowers, taking in the sweet scent, a scent so missed all those years passed by.

Peering about, she noticed they bloomed profusely in the area around her baby's lair, a smile as she turned her snout to the heavens, only for a moment, to silently communicate with her beloved, before wandering on, looking to the trees that surrounded, and the forest beyond, the caverns dotting the landscape here and there. She took in a deep breath of fresh cold air, and she smiled, at once, feeling as if she had found where she belonged.

Snowstorm was home.
