Des had never been over to the Lair before but she had recieved Icer's note at The Oracle office inviting her over for a tour of the Orphanage. That was why she had arrived on horseback this day with her notebook and pen dressed in her jeans, a sweater, jacket, and boots. She figured that would be the right clothes for a tour of this here new place that she had heard about.

She dismounted and ground tethered her mare then looked around inquisitively before calling out. "Icer! Yoo Hoo! It's Des. I done come visitin' to see the Orphanage."

Hearing Tera's voice, the dragon poked her head out of the lair's entrance, once again getting the morning shower from the waterfall guarding the entrance.

Soon she pushed off the ledge, gliding through the falls to land near Tera, just far enough away so as not to spook the horse.

We can go around the lake and the falls Tera, theres a pathway there.

She smiled warmly to her friend as Icer appeared from the waterfall. Her hand lifted to pat the mare's neck reassuringly as the Ice Dragon joined her. She reached into a saddlebag to get the package she had brought then turned and walked over to join her Hostess with an air of excited anticipation around her.

"Howdy Icer! It is great to see ya. I'm really lookin' forward to seein' the new place. Is it all finished up now and ready? Are your little ones around today and Aurthur" How ya feelin'?"

Yup, the questions had begun from the inquisitive cowgirl Queen.

Aurthur is inside, along with the little ones, and the lair is all finished, she led the way to the hidden pathway which wasn't too steep.

Up they would move, following the pathway, and she paused now and then glancing behind her to make sure Tera was alright.

You can see the falls and lake well from here, and this way, you don't have to get wet.

::Aurthur was waiting for them at the entrance to the lair, smiling and waving to Tera.:: Good afternoon, Tera, it is a pleasure to see you here today. We are proud to be able to show you the orphanage that we have strived so hard to make. For starters, im sure you noticed the many dragons about outside. What with the wyvern attacks, safety is of our utmost concern, so many of our kin have offered to be guards for the orphanage. We also have the natural defense of the waterfall, which is very nice, and lastly, we have several wards in place to keep intruders out. All this, and we've not even made it inside yet. ::Aurthur chuckled softly.:

Des was climbing ever higher behind Icer doing her very best to take in everything she could possibly see all at one time. It was truly beautiful here she thought and she really did like the waterfall in particular. She shifted the package to get a better hold on it while continuing on along the Ice Dragon's wake giving smiles to her every time she was checked on.

"I'm right behind ya. Don't worry about me. I'm looking forward to seein' Aurthur and the little ones when we get there."

It wasn't too long after that she caught sight of the huge dragon himself and waved to him as walked on up to him and he greeted her. She waited for him to finish speaking before she spoke up with a bright smile.

"Well howdy Aurthur! I did notice all the preparations for safety y'all have made and I do believe they are right fine. It is good to see ya as well as Icer today. I brought a kind of Orphanage openin' present I guess ya could call it." She chuckled as she looked between the couple.

The package she extended toward Icer held two large bottles of the specially blended deep moisturizing oil for growing dragons with a calming scent. She had first had this particular kind of oil made up when Icer was a youngling to apply to her skin as she was growing for the dryness and itching when she had been miserable.

::Aurthur smiled warmly.:: "We very much appreciate the gift, though you certainly did not have to do that. ::he nuzzled his mate affectionately.::

"Im not quite certain how to do the tour in itself, though, or rather, what order to show you everything. There are many things that we have done to what used to be a single room. Now there are tunnels honeycombed throughout this mountain, and that makes up our orphanage. Basically, we made it so that females will have quarters on one side, and males will have quarters on the other. Those who are old enough, or those of our guards that have mates, have a section of shared quarters as well."

::Aurthur may not have known how to take Tera through the tour, but at least he sounded like a tour guide!:: "Everything has been taken care of for the childrens needs. Beds, pillows, and blankets have all been provided, and we make certain that every child gets at least three healthy meals a day. By healthy i mean not just meat as so many dragons stick to regularly........" ::A pointed glance at his mate.:: "But also vegetables, roots, nuts, and berries as well."

"For entertainment, we have made a playroom for the children, made as safe as can be. And because children will be children, we have a full medical staff here as well. I could go on and on about our orphanage all day, Tera, as i tend to be long winded, and i do apologize. Where would you like to begin the tour" And Perhaps i should let my lovely wife here give the tour?"

A purr given to the affectionate nuzzle, though she just gave her mate an innocent grin at the pointed look as he started on the meal talk.

Nodding then to Tera, she smiled, noting the oils, you did not have to do that for us Tera, but we do appreciate it, I know well how dry our scales can become.

So shall we begin?, moving into the lair, she led the way down the long corridor from the lair's mouth, the cavern soon opening wide, showing those mazes of tunnels, most of them lit by the naturally imbedded crystals of the cavern.
