The dragoness lay nearby, keeping an eye on the elven child should he wake, blue eyes blinking as she studied him, wondering just who couldn't take care of the child anymore.

Her own hatchlings were laying beside her, sleeping as well, and she was thankful for the quiet time, at least for the time being.

The elven child slowly opened his eyes and then shut them tightly as he started crying out. Being in the lair only amplified his cries. It was amazing that no hatchlings had woken up, but if he wasn't calmed down soon, that might not be the case.
