Waking to yet another day without her mate, the dragoness had to find something to do. Making sure her hatchlings were fed first, she then slid through the lair, moving to some still unexplored tunnels.

Perhaps if they were structurally sound, she could add a few rooms.

Pushing against one of the walls, it seemed to hold, so she started digging, careful at first. She remembered the day her mate had done the same and the cavern he'd been digging caved in onto him.

This wall though held up, even against her digging, and soon she had at least the start of one room. She'd continue on until her mate returned, whenever that might be.
