Long since the embers died within the hearth, the black dragon had felt a chill. The house where she had stayed with her adopted father, once cozy, now lay empty, save for the black.

Her father had long since moved on, leaving no message, no notes. There was but one thing for her to do.

It was time to move on, to return to her kin, a glance around the lonel house, the embers that had died, and lost their glow. The table that stood empty.

There was nothing there that could keep her any longer.

Slipping out the door, and into the snow, there was a natural shiver. Unlike her sister, she wasn't quite used to the cold.

Green eyes blinked as she looked back to the empty house, before she trudged through the marketplace. Her father had disappeared, so had her mate. Now, neither the house, nor the cave she had spent time in with Vendrek'kal held any promises left for her.

She had left what little she had, and trudged on, moving back towards the one home she would be welcome to, no matter what.

Onward through the snow, and out of the city, back towards the falls where her sister resided, maybe she'd even find herself a cavern that was closer.

Closer would be nice, then she wouldn't be so alone.

The snow had started melting, making the journey that much easier. The black and purple dragoness had holed up in a cave when a snow storm had hit.Catching the needed slumber before she would continue the journey.

It was the trickling sound of water that roused her. Poking her dark snout outside, the air did not seem so chilled, patches of snow still clung to places, not wanting to release Winter's grasp to the Spring.

Now was the time to resume her journey.

Walking through the forest, she paused once, near a stream. Serpentine neck arching as she listened, birds were just starting to sing, and springtime insects buzzing. Flowers also had started to peek out from beneath the ground, little green things still, not showing any hint yet of what color they might become.

These were sounds she was more accustomed to. The house had been nice, for awhile, but she prefered to be closer to the wilds.

Bending her neck, she took a long drink of still frigid water from the trickling stream. She could follow it. See where it went, but kin were more likely on her mind.

Moving along after finishing her drink, she countinued on her journey, benath the shade of mighty oaks and maples. Beneath the great pines that scented the air. She would not stop again though, not until she saw Talon rock.

When she'd see that landmark, then she'd know she was truely home.
