*It would be the first Christmas for many of the hatchlings in the lair, and Aurthur was going all out this year. Over the past few days, he had taken numerous trips into town to the Markets, and stashed the results of his trips in a hidden room that served as a hoard chamber. Now he gathered everything and took it to the library.
With that done, he left the lair and took Temeraire with him. At sunrise, the two of them returned with an immense pine tree. This they set up into the gardens, as it clearly wouldn't fit in the lair.* "Thank you, Temeraire. We'll alert you when we start decorating, of course." *With a smile, Aurthur ducked back inside. The others would be starting to wake by now, so he didn't feel the need to be quiet.
Back to the library he went to gather up his supplies. These were, of course, brightly colored Christmas lights, which he was affixing high on the walls, so that the children could admire them, but not pull them down. Every one in a while, he stopped stringing up lights so that he could affix a wreath of iceflowers to the wall. With as large as the lair was, this was going to take a long, long time to deck all the halls!*
