Sitting a few moments with her slumbering grandchild, the dragon carefully picked Shadow up in her forelegs, and moved toward the lair.

She could not just leave the girl on her own. Something strange had happened, and she did not want to risk losing her grand daughter again.

Even though the young woman's body remained similar to a teen, her mind was not. In fact, her mind almost seemed that of an inquisitive child.

The excitement,, and wonder had shown in the young one's eyes as she had purred to Shadow, enjoying a peaceful night.

Shielding the slumbering child with a wing as they slid through the waterfall into the lair, she moved down the hallway, peeking in on a few of the other little ones.

Another glance to the one in her forelegs, she made the descision, moving into one of the nearby nurseries, she tenderly laid her grandchild down into one of the larger beds.

Not a crib, but not quite an adult bed, humming a soft lullaby, she then tucked Shadow in. The rails along the sides would help to keep the young one from rolling out of bed. Grandma had Shadow's safety in mind.

Settling by the bedside, she would keep a vigil over the young one. All the while continuing to hum, and hopefully chase away the nightmares that might threaten.
