So much has happened. Too much for her heart to handle. Abandonment by someone she thought she loved. Twice. Finding out a friend would choose money over life of another. A friend attempting to kill someone dear to her. The death of someone who was like family. And several other dark deeds was enough to send her innocent mind to the brink of sanity.

And to tip it off over the edge was Silk's return and Corwin's lack of care for her emotional state. She snapped. Refusing to let either or anyone close to her the sylph zipped from the inn's halls and to a familiar place. A hidden 'sanctum' in the glen. A crystal cavern that brought back many happy memories. But it held no comfort, no warmth for her. Instead it seemed to send her mind whirling. She cursed..yes cursed..the alchemist that brought her sylph spirit and soul into this fleshy shell. Cursed him for breathing life and allowed her to experience the world of man. It was nothing but pain! Pain and suffering. Pain, suffering, betrayal.

Happiness" It was an illusion! A brief glimpse of true bliss before something dark stomped it into the ground! Happiness was nothing more then a joke on the hearts of others.

Cries of agony spilled past her shaking lips as her nails clawed and tore away at the flesh. Even the pain was real but it didn't stop it. Blood spat against the floor and nearby crystals as she racked flesh from her cheeks and arms. She wanted out. Wanted out of this torture that was humanity! Bloodied hands shot groundward and the very air about her began to close in, assisting in the task of tearing and marring into her flesh.

As the fit of rage subsided she stared at the roof, swaying slowly. She wanted to give in. 'There must be someone there to bring happiness otherwise the darkness be eternal.' Even for a brief moment..was happiness worth all the pain" Tears worked down her torn cheeks as she just ...stared.

Was it really worth it?

Hands rose up to the ceiling in prepare to summon another string of flesh sheering winds but she stopped, the flickering of ice blue on her wrist catching her eye. Bottom lip trembling she stared at the bracelet.

Maybe if she couldn't be happy for herself..maybe just be happy for others. Seeing his smile always brought her joy. Seeing the smiling faces of Icer and her kin.

Maybe the pain was worth it...

Allowing her body to drop back to the ground she stared at the ceiling. No matter how her body spilled she made no attempt to move into a comfortable position. Her eyes closed half way, the flickering crystals surrounding her becoming nothing more then pins in darkness.

Maybe being a glimmer of light in the darkness was...worth it.
