The dragon was still a bit off.., so much happening at once, the riots, a missing daughter, a son losing himself to the rage within, and finally the deaths of her son and grandchild.
She would do then what was needed. Moving quietly down a long corridor in the lair, she slipped into one of the many extra rooms, one where there was nothing save a blanket.
Circling once, twice, pushing all thoughts from her head, or trying to at least, some things just didn't want to leave.
Another shakey breath, remembering what her niece had told her. She did need to stop taking on so much.
The crystals imbedded in the walls pulsed faintly with a pale blue glow as she settled onto the blanket, belly first.
Still she made not a sound, she wouldn't risk waking the hatchlings or her mate.
Her breathing started getting better, and not so shakey as her mind shield started taking over, it had always been up, she never left herself unguarded anymore.
Now it was helping to ease a troubled mind, she had been close to the edge, to the point of breaking.
She was strong, she wouldn't break. Coiling up on the blanket, she stretched her serpentine neck out on the floor, absently watching the crystals pulse, the pale light soothing for a yet troubled mind.
Soon then, she coiled up, her tail coming to rest upon her snout, and slowly, her ice blue eyes drifted closed.
The dragoness's breathing would steady itself out as she slipped into slumber, something well needed.
It would be days before she'd wake again.
