It had been months since the red had left her old life behind. It turned out all for the better.

No longer did she have the worries of others uncovering her secret.

No longer did she worry about what she would eat.

Game roamed plentiful around the mountainous lair that she and Alexander had chosen.

Mountain goats and bighorn sheep roamed the rocky outcroppings while herds of caribou grazed the plains below.

She would never go hungry ever again.

Nights were cool, but comfortable. Especially within her mate's embrace.

She remained curled alongside Alexander. Stirring from a long needed rest. Moving into the lair had taken longer then she had thought. But it was all worth it in the end.

*As his mate began to stir, so did he. He yawned without lifting his head from his forelegs, and when his eyes opened, his first sight was that of his beloved. Ever since his full recovery of life and memory, he had devoted his life to her, to their new life together.

The cave that they had found had been small, but together they had dug it out to make it large enough for the both of them.*

Good morning, dearest love. Did you rest well, last night' You fell asleep very quickly, though with as much work as we have done to make this our home, that is hardly a surprise. Would you like me to go get you something to eat?

Good morning my dearest. I have not slept so well in such a long time. Perhaps we could hunt together?

I would enjoy a nice flight. It has been so long you know. I would never go back.

Not to the life I held before. Perhaps we should send word to y...our kin and let them know that we are well. She had caught herself of course. Still growing used to having a family.

But a family that was loved none the less.

I think a morning hunt is just what we need, my love. And yes, I do suppose that we should send word to our family, they must be frantic with worry, as they haven't heard from us at all since....Well, since you made me whole again. *He smiled warmly and gave his mate a tender kiss* One of these days, we may even have to drop in for a visit.
