Odela Heart Silverwing. She was the eldest of a family and the princess to her father. She was the pride and joy, their first. They loved all their children, and Odela understood love was shared equally among them. She felt so much love from her parents, but she always seem to feel like something was missing.
She remembered hearing tales of how her mother and father met. How he was a silver streak in the stars that came to her mother's rescue. Odela always wondered how it was that her mother fell in love with the eyes of her mate. How her father always seemed to have an overwhelming amount of love for her mother. It never seemed to end between those two, only going stronger....And she wanted that.
Yet Odela was reminded of how much trouble she was. The fact that she was always being repremanded by her father and mother for being a "Little Terror". They had told her repeatedly that she was so much trouble it would take a strong Dragon to tolerate being her mate. At least that's what her mother would say when she had gone beyond just agrivated. Odela was beginning to feel no Dragon would ever be her mate.
She was prepared, utterly prepared to be alone all her days. Her father told her it was rubbish, nonsense, that every Dragon had a mate somewhere. Pains and torments here and there....It felt like she was just causing trouble because she had nothing better to do.
It was amazing the thoughts she ran across while she sat there at the lake. The water and the sound of animals at the edge was all soothing, all relaxing.
Her tail wrapped around her and she settled forwards. Her acidic green eyes, her father's eyes, peered towards the water. Watching the fish within it swim about with little interest. She was lonily, oh so lonily, but she was sure she could live with it....For a while.
